The Sword: Part 2

Naruto was happily snoring dreaming about Ramen and was completely oblivious to the outside world.

Kurama rolled his eyes, one thing that would never change about his Jinchuriki was that he was a terminaly heavy sleeper. Sure he could do that half sleep thing that all Ninja learned but, he only ever did that when he was on a mission. The rest of the time the fox was sure that even a Bijudama from the Ten Tails itself wouldn't be enough to wake him up.

"Hmm" the fox's ear twitched as he noticed movement around his host, it was the blonde girl called Adora she had snuck out of bed and was trying to sneak out of their barracks. She was followed not long after by the cat girl Catra, which the fox always though was a completely uninspired name and why did this world like adding ra to the end of every other persons name. It was completely absurd.

Shaking off his musings he listened in to their conversation as the cat girl confronted the blonde one.

"Hey! Where are you going" Catra whispered!

"Back to the woods theres something I need to figure out" Adora looked at her best friend.

"What" Catra nearly screamed! "I though I was supposed to be the crazy one! You're no-"

Adora clamped her hand over Catra's mouth and pulled her behind a corner as a small night time patrol robot floated past.

"What is wrong with you! You've been acting weird since you fell! Are you sure you're not brain damage" she cocked her head?

"Catra I know I saw something out there, it just, I just need to get another look it feels important somehow."

Cat looked into her bestfriends eyes and saw how determined she looked and lightly smiled "sounds good let's go."

"No" Adora stopped her "I don't want you getting in trouble on my behalf, just cover for me, okay?

"Ugh, fine but, what about Naruto? You know he can always tell when I'm lying."

"Don't worry about it" Adora lightly laughed "we have no training tomorrow remember? Naruto won't be up until at least ten and I'll definitely be back by then" Adora then pulled Catra into a quick hug before running off leaving Catra by herself

"Adora" Catra whisper yelled angry at being left behind "Adora!"

"Interesting" Kurama murmered so the sword is calling to her "eh. I wonder if I should wake Naruto up or not . . . nah. I'm sure it'll be fine, beside it seems like things will become more interesting if I let her go and I wouldn't want to my fun now would I."

(Line Break)

"Ahhhh" Naruto let out a satisfying yawn before hopping out of bed. Their Squad had no training excercises scheduled today so he was free to do whatever he wanted, Naruto saw that the barracks were empty and everyone else had already started their day. Getting dressed Naruto went down to the mess hall to have his favorite meal of the day breakfast. It wasn't Ramen but, since that didn't exist in this world he had to make due with what was available and their morning dishes were some of his favorites.

"Hey Naruto" another Cadet greeted him as he went by.

"Morning" Naruto greeted back.

"Hi Naruto" a guard said.

"Hi."

Even though the Horde was technically trying to conquer the world Naruto actual really loved living there. Everyone liked him for the most part and there were lots of nice people to hang out with. He often wondered if this is what the Academy was like for everyone back in Konoha. He never really got the full experience as most of the teachers hated him back then and his life was basically a living hell. Shrugging off his negative thoughts he arrived at the mess hall ready to fill his empty stomach. But, stopped when he saw Catra sitting by herself staring down at her food.

"What's wrong" Naruto narrowed his eyes as he sat down.

"W-what makes you think somethings wrong" she stuttered!

"One" Naruto put his finger up "You're not eating your Fish Omlette, they only serve those once a week and you normally devour them in seconds. Two" he raised his next finger "You're mopping you never mope, get frustrated and insulting people maybe but, never mope." He raised the final finger "And third and most importantly you're not with Adora the two of you are practically joined at the hip. So my question for you Catra is what happened? And where is Adora?"

Catra's mouth opened and closed for several seconds trying to find an answer. "Ugh, I told her I wouldn't be able to lie to you!"

Naruto glared at her making Catra shrink a bit under his gaze.

"S-she went back to the Whispering Woods" Catra stuttered out.

Naruto facepalmed already having an idea what was happening but, he wanted to confirm it "And why would she do that?"

"I don't understand it either" Catra groaned "When we went out last night Adora fell off the Skiff and we were seperated for a little while. When I found her she was unconscious and after she woke up she kept going on about this magic sword she saw. I though she might have hit her head too hard so I took us back to the Fright Zone and hoped that would be the end of it. But-"

"But, she snuck out last night to go back and try and find the sword" Naruto finished for her?

"Yeah" Catra looked down sheepishly.

"And you didn't stop her?"

Catra blushed in shame "It all happened so fast! And, and I was tired, and if we both went there would be no one to cover for us here" Catra defended but, it seemed like she was trying to convince herself more than Naruto!

"Alright" Naruto patted her shoulder "calm down we all make stupid decisions sometime. What's important is figuring out what we're going to do now."

"She was supposed to be back before sun up" Catra quivered "I'm worried that something might have happened to her in those stupid woods."

"Tell you what" Naruto said "Let me go to the bathroom real quick and when I come back I'll help you figure out what to do."

Catra nodded to worried about her friend to think about anything else.

Naruto left his food and headed to the bathrooms one of the only places in the entire Horde Academy that had any semblance of privacy. Locking the door and checking the floor to make sure it was clean he sat down cross legged and entered Sage Mode. Eternia was different from the Elemental Nations it was a planet over flowing with life and as such had a huge amount of Nature Chakra everywhere. Even a place with hardly any plant life at all like the Fright Zone had a decent ammount of it, so it only took Naruto a moment to gather enough Chakra.

He began expanding his senses outwards towards the Whispering Woods which had the single highest concentration of Nature Chakra on the entire planet. It was almost too easy to detect Adora and just like he expected she was deep in the Whispering Woods and from what he could tell was unharmed.

Only she wasn't alone there were two more Chakra Signatures with her he wasn't worried though because he couldn't sense any negative emotions on either of them, if fact the worste he could sense was a bit of annoyance and resentment in one of them but, no real anger or hatred. Not to mention the other one which actualy seemed to have positive feeling towards Adora. Which was really strange because there was no way the two of them were from the Horde being that deep into the woods and were definitely part of the Rebelion , so it was weird that they weren't fighting with a Horde soldier like Adora. And she wasn't their captive either since she wasn't feeling any fear, and actually seemed more confused than anything.

Standing up Naruto made a Shadow Clone who disappeared into the nearby vents as soon as he was summoned. Naruto needed to see what the exact situation going on with adora was and whether he needed to get involved or not.

Exiting Sage mode Naruto left the bathroom with a sigh, he had a feeling that things were going to start getting a lot more complicated from no on.

Back in the mess hall Naruto searched for Catra but, she was nowhere to be seen which was strange since her food was still untouched on the table.

(Line Break)

Once outside of the Fright Zone Naruto's Clone activated his Chakra Cloak and sped through the desert a hundred times faster than one of the Skiffs ever could. It only took a few minutes for him to reach the edge of the Whispering Woods. Closing its eyes it searched for the correct direction before speeding off again. Since the original transfered a large amount of Nature Energy to it when he was created the Clone was already in sage mode and knew exactly where Adora was.

When he finally arrived the clone deactivated the Chakra Cloak and went into hiding to see what was going on. The second he was what was happening though the Clone got a strange sense of Deja Vu, Adora was currently falling from the sky again. He had absolutely no idea how she got herself in that situation because there was literaly nothing above her that she could have fallen from.

Adora wasn't the only one falling either, there were two other people falling with her one of whom he even recognized.

It was Princess Glimmer the daughter of Queen Brightmoon the Leader of the Rebelion, he saw her once as during hiw first few months in this world as he traveled around. That wasn't what surprised him the most though, it was the fact that she was holding onto that strange sword that he was the night before. But, he could wonder about the sword later right now he had to save all of them from splatting on the ground.

Luckily he didn't need to act because just when he was about to jump out and save everyone the third member of their group a dark skinned boy with gold and red armor acted first. He drew his bow and launched an arrow straight at the ground that exploded into a giant net that latched on to all of the nearby trees.

"Impressive" the Clone thought as they all landed safetly on the net.

After catching their breath Adora and the boy had to drag Princess Glimmer off of the net because she had passed out.

"Glimmer! Glimmer" the boy light shook the Princess to try and wake her up!

Glimmer moaned slightly as she woke up and grabbed her ribs in pain.

"Are you alright" the boy panicked!?

"Yeah" she grunted out " I just used up too much of my magic power earlier."

"I wonder who could have possibly predicted something like that could have happened" he rolled his eyes.

"Bow" The Princess growled.

"Right" the boy now identified as Bow corrected himself "Sorry, not the time for that but, you do really need to watch yourself no more teleporting for a while you could seriously get hurt if you don't watch it."

"I'm fine" Glimmer stomped "I just need to get back to Brightmoon to recharge!" Glimmer then looked over to Adora who was just watching the both of them with her arms crossed and glared. "And why are you still here!"

"What" Adora asked confused?

"Bow and I are hardly a crack security team you could have escaped at any time, why didn't you?"

"Is" Adora struggled for an answer "I just want to figure out what is happening to me, and if I go bakc to the Fright Zone now then I'll never know. I never knew who I was or where I came from, Shadow Weaver said it didn't matter who I was in the past only who I was now and that I was nothing before Hordak took me in. There's a part of me that I know nothing about and all of this feels familiar somehow. I-I don't now how else to explain it."

Glimmers face softened for a moment and she looked down but, stiffened again after seeing Adora's new Force Commander Badge.

"Glimmer's mother knows more about the First One's tech than anyone" Bow came up behind Glimmer and grabbed her shoulders "If anyone can tell you about whats happening between you and that sword it's her! So if you want your questions answer you should stick with us" he put his hand out for her to grab.

Adora hesitated a moment but, slowly reached out to grab it.

"Let's just go already" Glimmer shook herself out of Bows grip and started walking "There's a settlement in this direction they'll be able to give us a lift back to Brightmoon. We've wasted too much time already she looked back coldly."

Naruto's Clone frowned and was having a bad feeling about all of this but, couldn't bring himself to force Adora to go back after the speak she gave. Especially since he knew first hand what it was like not knowing who you were or what your past was. Not having any other choice he silently followed after them but, stopped sensing a distubance in the Nature Energy.

It was a dark power yet, was still somehow connecting with the Nature Energy. He frowned from what he could sense someone was using the Nature Energy in the area to spy on Adora. The energy seemed familiar but, it took him a moment to recognize it, it was Shadow Weaver! The energy was giving off the same feeling that she did when she was threatening him.

"Not good" the Clone thought if Shadow Weaver see's Adora with the Rebelion then she would get branded as a traitor!

The Clone quickly summoned another Clone and give him the task of giving the information back to the real Naruto so that could try and to something on his end. The second Clone dispelled with a "poof" and the original Clone went back to following Adora and her group knowing that this definitely wasn't going to end well.
