Chapter 21

"Seriously, what do you want?" Calix irritably removed his reading glasses while looking at me.

I'm now sitting at his sofa while he's at his desking a meter away from me. He just finished his stuffs with his operation earlier. Now, he's been studying his other patient's information. He's doing that for 30 minutes and I'm just here sitting while looking at him. I can't make myself ask him about my situation. I know I'm the one who suggested about relaying to him but now, I regret it.

'I'm damn scared!' I thought.

I avoided his intense gaze and playing with my fingers to stopped it from shaking. I can't really stand Calix questioning eyes. It's like it's eating me alive.

"Me? Hehehe..." Geez! I sound so awkward! "Nothing. I told you, I want to visit you that's why I'm here. It's been what? 5 years? You know, I really---" he slightly slammed his desk with his hand which made me jumped.

"Cut the crap, Kyle. I know you." He said and stand up from his chair.

"Eh..." I'm crying in my thoughts.

He grabbed one visitor's chair and sat in front of me. My heart was hammering inside my body. Now that he's in front of me, it's making me dizzy and nauseous. Plus, he smelled like damn chemicals from hospital, it's making me uncomfortable.

"You're pale. Are you sick?" He touched my face and I'm palpitating as fuck. His touch felt unfamiliarly familiar. Maybe because he's been away for ages that caused my body to reacting weirdly.

'Is this sign of pregnancy? Am I really pregnant?'

I shook my head. "No..."

He removed his hands at my face and looked at me suspiciously. "Then, why are you here?" I was about to speak when he cut my words. "And don't give me that shit about missing me. Because if you really do, it won't take 5 years for you to visit me."

I pouted. "Mother and father won't allow me to go here since I'm under 18." This is true though our parents didn't know I'm here today.

"How about when I visit Rewick?"

"I'm at academy whenver you visit Rewick!" I answered.

He shrugged. "It's not my fault that you're not there."

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Both you and Felix visit without notice! It's either you go there when I have activities at academy or you just go to the company!"

"Hey kiddo," he pointed his finger on me. "I visit you once at your school!"

"You did?" I looked at him mockingly. "When? During festivals when I'm so busy?"

"At least I visited."

I rolled my eyes at him and leaned at the sofa. "I hate you."

"You don't. Come on, your brothers are busy and job oriented." He said.

"Oriented? More like obsessed, dummy."

That's what I hate about the twins, they always say that they'll visit me when they have their free time. But that never happen! Their too absorbed with their works to the point that they don't made time with us. Even though we talk through video calls, like few times every month, we can't feel their physical presence. I don't even know their pheromones now. Well, Calix smells like chemicals, I can't smell his pheromones even a bit.

I heard him sighed and held on my hands that where placed at my knees.

"Sorry."

I felt my heart warmed. Calix is the type of person who never cower towards other people but his family. He maybe tough and stolid at first but deep inside, he's always passionate towards people he adores.

"Not accepted." I said with fake annoyed tone. I miss pissing him off.

He withdrew his hand with mine and leaned at the chair. "Then I'll tell father and mother that you're here."

My eyes widened. I tried to think an alibi. "T-They know that I'm here!"

"Eh?" He said while raising his right eyebrow at me. He grabbed his phone and tapped something. "But they said that your out with you friends, Leo and Amanda. Where the hell are they?" He said then showed me the message from our mother.

'Crap! He's texting him while talking to me! I didn't notice.'

Fuck, I'm sweating! I don't know what to answer! Think for an alibi you dumb! Aghhhh!

"Ohh..." I made sure I look truthful with my words. "They're out for food so I go here already."

His eyes still looks at me with suspicion. His gaze is so intense that it can make you shiver from your seat. I wish I went to Felix first before Calix.

"Call them." He said.

"Huh?"

"I said call them. Invite them here, I've like to meet your new friends. Mother told us that John left Rewick and moved in to Atlis. Seriously, I'm pretty worried that you'll never find new friends. You're too sheltered and dependent with John." He said. "So, call them, invite them here."

I scratched my nape. "E-Eh..."

I saw him smirked. "I knew it. You escape from home, don't you?"

My eyes widened. "No! I told them that I'm going somewhere!"

"But not here, right?"

I pouted and slowly nodded. "Yeah..."

"See, you're really here for something. You won't lie if you're not hiding something. " he said. "Spill it, Kyle."

I looked at him, trying to collect myself. He's just there looking at me intently. I admitted defeated and sighed.

"I..." I gulped. "I have my mate." I said while looking straight to his eyes. He show nothing in those golden brown orbs.

Later, he crossed his arms. "Am I the first one you told this matter?" I nodded. "And? Why can't you tell father and mother about this person who marked you?"

I shook my head. "I-I can't."

"Why?"

I don't know if I should tell him that my alpha won't allow me to see his face. I don't know how would he react upon hearing those. As much as possible, I want him to understand my situation. That's other reason why I chose to tell him first than our parents and Felix. He's more calm and understanding. He'll ask the truth first before giving his perception.

"He..."

"He? A guy marked you?" I nodded.

"A dominant alpha male."

I heard him clicked his tongue. "And?"

"He won't allow me to see his face, Calix." I admitted.

Silence. He just started at me and nothing more. I can feel the heaviness of his breathing and gaze. My heart's pulsation is fast.

"You still meeting him?" I nodded and lowered my head. "This is foolish, Kyle."

"I can't defy him, Calix."

"Why? Is he using force on you?" I shook my head.

"No! He... he adores me. He takes care of me everytime I'm in heat. And I think..."

"Think what?"

"I think that I'm falling for him..."

"But that's not how it works, Kyle. You're mate yet he don't let you see his face? And your falling for him? That's bullshit!" I can feel his anger by his voice.

"I know... but please Calix, understand me. I promised him that I'll wait until he's ready enough to reveal himself. I trust my mate Calix, so please, trust me also. I'm not kid anymore. I know what decision I should make. So please, understand it for me." I plead.

I heard him sigh. "I'll try. But I think you should keep this from father and mother. Even from Felix."

"Even Felix? I think he would under---"

"No, Kyle." He said firmly. "It's better if only few people know this matter. You don't want our parents to know this, don't you?" I nodded.

"I think your right." I said. "Thank you, Calix. I know you'll understand."

I saw him flashed a simple smile. "Of course, because you're important to me."

My heart skippped a bit. "Calix, I also have one more to say."

"What is it?" He said.

"I think I'm pregnant."

After my revelation to Calix, he literally zoned out. Like his soul came out from his body. I tried not to laugh at him because I know it's quite huge news to take but hell, he looked ridiculous!

"Calix?" I called him out. A moment later he grabbed my wrist and dragged me. "H-hey!"

"Shut up." His voice was full of coldness and authority. Damn, I angered him.

He did get something from his desk, and then, he pulled me into the bathroom.

"Use this." He said and handed me a box.

"What's this?" I have no knowledge about it.

I saw him raked his hair with his fingers. "It's a damn pregnancy test kit! So, go! Fucking check yourself!"

"Oh." So this is what it looks like. "I don't know how to use it."

"Craaaap!" He screamed and told me how that thing works. "Two lines, Kyle. Look if it's two lines." I nodded. After that, I fully entered the bathroom and locked the door.

This is the first time I saw my brother like that. He looked so mad. I wonder what would pur parents looks if I tell them the truth. I'm sure hell will rise annd they'll turn into demon.

'I should really follow Calix's advice. I'll keep my secrets at least for now.'

I did what Calix instructed me. One line, not pregnant. Two lines, pregnant. I waited for the result before I came out from the bathroom. Calix went to me with expression full of questions.

"What did you get?" He's nervous.

I sighed and showed him the kit. "One line."

I saw relief in his face. He blew heavy breathes.

"Yeah... yeah. One line." He said. "You're not pregnant..."

I slowly nodded. I don't know why but I felt my tear building. Calix noticed it and held my face worriedly.

"Why are you crying?" He asked.

I bit my lips. "Why?" I can't hold it anymore. "Why am I not pregnant, Calix? I have the symptoms! This fucking pheromonal change! Those dizzy feelings! So why?!"

I think I'm really crazy. Yesterday, when I found out that I might be pregnant, I'm scared as fuck. But after that, I feel to happy. I'm happy that I might be carrying my mate's child. I'm happy that there might be life inside me. I'm happy that I might be a parent now. But I'm not pregnant. Those ideas vanished. And I don't know what to feel.

I felt Calix touched my face. "You want to be pregnant?" I shooked my head.

"I-It's not like that, I-I just thought about the possibility that I'm pregnant. I-I can't helped but to be h-happy, Calix." I said while sobbing.

Calix hugged and I felt that familiar feeling because of his hug.

"You're still young, Kyle. 18? You have a lot of opportunities in the future. Having a baby in this moment will sure affect your future. Most especially, now that your relationship with your mate is not settled yet. I'm happy Kyle, that you're matured enough to face the possible consequences, I'm so happy. I can see that you grew up fine even without your brothers beside you." He said.

He added. "But being pregnant right this moment might be the best for now. Settle your score first, Kyle. Then tell it to our parents and Felix in the rightful moment. After that, go make a lot of babies---" I smacked his back.

"You're not funny." I said then slightly chuckled.

He withdrew from our hug and pinched my nose. "At least I made you smile. Come on, buddy. Don't be negative. I'm sure everything will be fine soon."

I smiled at Calix. "I hope so, Calix. I hope so." I can see pity in his eyes. And I don't look it. "Don't look at me like that."

"Sorry." He said. Silence. No one's talking not until he stood up. "Come on, let me make you feel better."

I frowned. "Where are we going?"

He smirked. "Laliona University, let's surprised Felix."
