He turned to the struggling zombies that bounded by his earth snakes, but didn't do anything and decided to leave them be.
It has been a while and the noise started to gather a lot of attention from the creatures nearby. So Harry cleaned his robe and slipped away from the area.
He had plenty of useful spells in reserve, but he didn't remember any spell that completely erase the human smell. No matter how clean he was, the zombie still managed to smell the human's odor.
He shook his head, "I'll think about this issue later."
"Finding the settlement is my priority," said Harry as he walked past ruined buildings.
His eyes moved over each building as he walked down the street, and his observant gaze constantly looking around and scanning the areas around him.
"I wonder what happened to this place... could it be the whole world has been reduced to this pathetic state by the zombie...?"
Harry didn't bother to search the abandoned buildings. Looking at the state they're in, the chances of finding edible and intact supplies was so minuscule that he didn't bother to do so.
His destination was the massive building where the family fought against the zombies.
Past the green building, he turned left and walked to the nearby alley, following the extracted memory of the zombie.
When he got to the place in the zombie's memory, he might be able to track them. And where there's a survivor, there's a settlement.
He won't have to worry about water, there's a spell for that. But, food might be a little complicated.
He can conjure things and even water to sate the thirst.
But he can't create food out of nothing!
The best thing he could do was increase the quantity of the food. So long as he acquired even a tiny bit of edible food, he could increase the quantity to eat until he was full.
Harry killed two more zombies on the way before he reached destination, but some zombies could be seen wandering outside the buildings.
Harry scanned the area and managed to found the biggest building in their midst.
"That must be the one." He tapped his wand, deep in thought.
He glanced at the zombies loitering outside the buildings, "They looked like someone who had nothing to do... Let's change it."
Harry took out his wand, and point it to the sky.
"Morsmordre!"
A pale green light shot out from the wand and headed toward the distant sky.
When it was high enough, the light flashed and turned into a colossal skull, constituted of pale green stars with a serpent protruding from its mouth like a tongue.
It was the Dark Mark.
A curse used to create a skull and serpent sign used by Voldemort and his Death Eaters to leave their mark over the homes of anyone they killed. They also used this for some gathering signs and other purposes during the war.
Harry often used this spell to lure some death eaters in the war and killed them off one by one.
The zombies roared with hostility as they chased the colossal skull flashing in a haze of pale greenish smoke in the sky.
Harry watched the colossal skull rose higher and higher with a strange look in his face.
He never would have thought the zombies would show such an aggressive reaction to the dark mark.
But it saved him a lot of time and efforts. He walked closer to his destination smoothly as no zombies blocked his path.
Harry kept his wand in his hand and casually twirling it in his fingers as he made his way deeper into the ruined buildings.
On the way, he saw some remnants of mottled tables and chairs inside the wrecked building.
He walked some more and stopped after he reached the building in his memory.
Harry pushed the double door with his left hand, but nothing happened. Something blocked the door.
"It's locked..." He turned to the window and saw no glass or obstacle that prevent anyone from entering the building.
He shake his head, "Forget it, it's not my style."
With that, he tapped the handle of the door with his wand, "Aberto."
Nothing happened.
Harry wondered if the door was jammed.
Well, what did he expect from a wreck when the majority of the buildings barely had any door in the first place.
But it was not important right now.
He step back to create a distance between him and the door.
After he was satisfied, Harry waved his hand, "Bombarda!"
Boom~ Bang~
The whole door was broken to pieces.
And without wasting any time, he tightened his grip on the wand. Ready to blast the zombies that might come his way.
Inside of the building was very dark, he couldn't see anything at all. It would be dangerous to venture inside without a light source.
He changed the way he held the wand into that of a torch and whispered, "Lumos."
Suddenly the wand lit up with a white light that brighten the place around him.
He stepped into the building, carefully.
Harry walked down deeper into the interior, bypassing some wreckage of unknown objects while being mindful of the opening similar to window and other passageway... or a hole.
Just like the one in front of him.
He walked closer to the wall and inspected the hole.
"A burned mark on the floor and wall, it's a manmade hole. It might be the fireball that wizard papa created when he fought with a group of zombies."
"I should follow his trail." Harry ducked and walked into the hole in the wall.
Screech!!
Before he could react, a piercing screech stunned him as a shadow leaped from the side.
"!!!"
Ambush?!
He felt as though death was before his eyes.
He saw the pair of red eyes looking at him, trying to tear him to pieces.
He was very inexperienced in real combat, he only remember fighting with his childhood friend in the elementary school. If he was his usual self then he won't be able to react whatsoever and can only wait for the inevitable.
But the body of Harry Potter was different. It remembers the years he spent warring against the dark lord and his army.
The threat of death forced his body to show it's potential and awaken his war veteran's reflex.
When the shadow moved right before his eyes, a silver barrier appeared and thwarted the incoming shadow.
Ting!
Screeeeeech!
The shadow failed in its sneak attack as it was thrown back from the impact and screech painfully.
Harry looks at the silver barrier in wonder and amazement, then turned to the shadow.
When the light of Lumos reached the creature, he saw a lone zombie.
He didn't dare to take it lightly, it was because this zombie is different from the ordinary zombie he had faced so far.
The weird zombie stood up and walked slowly around him while dragging its abnormally long dark claws on the ground. As it did so, the screech of metal on earth resounded in the dilapidated building.
Hearing and witnessing this horror scene started to make him a little nervous.
This zombie is more chill-inducing and more intelligent than the other zombies!
When it moves, the claws screeching and leave their mark on the ground.
He widened his eyes in surprise when he saw the claws mark all over the floor.
Its claws are too sharp!
The creature didn't start to attack him, but it didn't make the situation better. Harry only feels nervous by its behavior.
The creature behaviors... is weird. It's as if...
It's just like how a hunter looking at his prey.
"Don't tell me..." Harry's eyebrows furrowed.
The little bit of feeling that made him nervous started to dissipate and replaced by anger as Harry realized its intention.
"You're... treating me as your prey... Is that it?" Harry let out a cold smile as he scanned the glowing heart and veins of the weird zombie.
"I wonder if your organs would still be able to glow after I pluck them out from your corpse..."
The weird zombie halted its moves and no longer dragging its claws. Out of nowhere, the mouth split wide open until it reach the cheek. A long tongue slithered from there and let out a piercing screech that hurt one eardrum.
Screeeech~!
