Hunter and Prey

Screeeeech~!

The piercing screech resounded inside the ruined building, Harry scrunched his eyebrows in protest, resisting against the piercing noises as it tried to rupture his eardrums.

Still, he didn't need his ears to speak or used his wand.

"Astarte Ascendare!"

Shua~

A line of transparent white light shot out from his wand toward the glowing zombie.

"!!!"

Unexpectedly, the monster managed to dodge the transparent white light by sidestepping to the side with its agile speed.

Harry was astonished that the glowing zombie able to see the transparent spell trajectory, unlike the ordinary zombie. Its speed and agility was also faster than the those common zombie.

The glowing zombie used the chance when Harry was distracted to launched an attack.

It charged toward him with its four limbs.

"Alarte Ascendare!"

Shua~

It jumped to the ceiling and managed to evade his spell.

Shua~

The glowing zombie leaped from the ceiling to another side and successfully evaded another shot from Harry.

But before Harry managed to shot another one, it immediately plunged down with a decisive slash. The creature abandoned its defense for offense.

Its target was him!

Looking at the glowing zombie dropping from above, Harry kept his calm and with a flick of his wand, silver barrier appeared once again and thwarted the glowing zombie away from him.

But it didn't give up like before. It abandons all reason and safety as the glowing zombie letting out a series of melee combo.

Ting~ Ting~

Ting~

Ting~

Screech!

The creature raged and performed various moves without caring about its bloody claws.

Ting~

Harry watched the creature raged with indifferent eyes as though looking at some ants' performance.

Screech!

The glowing zombie that realized this point started to get more wild in its assault.

But no matter how many times and how strong the glowing zombie attacked the silver barrier, it stays calm and unmoved.

Not even slight ripples could be seen on the silver shield, not to mention a crack.

From this, it can be seen that Harry's barrier is way more powerful than the wizard papa blue barrier.

It just like the difference between heaven and earth.

Harry watched silently as the glowing zombie berserk state started to lose its edge.

The speed of its assault also slowed considerably.

At first, he was careless and nearly die in the sneak attack of the glowing zombie.

But now, Harry dared to ignore the glowing zombie's assault because he could do so.

Why?

It was power!

With power come confidence!

He could feel his connection to this particular shield charm to be exceptionally deep and strong. It's as if he was born with it and able to use the shield just like breathing.

That's why Harry suddenly gained a massive confidence. It was because he now had the means and power to protect himself. Even while facing the glowing zombie with frightening strength, Harry was looking very relaxed, totally disregarding his enemy.

He gave the glowing zombie an indifferent gaze as though he was looking down on it. The creature raged at this disregard, but Harry didn't feel it was enough after what the zombie had done to him.

Treating him as a prey?

Let see who is the prey and who is the hunter...

But first...

Screeech~!!

The glowing zombie was suddenly thrown back violently with an invisible shockwave, rolling a few times before managing to stabilized itself.

Harry flicked his wand leisurely and it was sent flying once again.

Seeing this, he smiled while scratching the back of his hair, " Ugh, when was the last time Harry Potter washed his hair? it's so itchy, I can't wait to take a shower.

"Wait, I don't think there's a shower anymore around here... Mm, I guess a bath is not bad either... and with a little tweak, it would become a hot spring." He laughed.

This time the creature finally stopped its assault and didn't rage anymore as it watched Harry talking to himself while continue to disregard it.

So humiliating!

The glowing zombie screeched in front of Harry's face one last time and leaped away from him.

Even though it has a surprising intelligence for a zombie, in the end, it's still a zombie, it won't be smarter than human. But its instinct was sharper than human.

At this moment, it knew straight away that no matter what it does, it won't be able to kill its enemy. That's why it doesn't even hesitate to run away from the tough-skinned human.

Harry watched the creature galloped down the hallway, trying to escape from him. Seeing this, he chuckled, "Where do you think you're going?"

The glowing zombie ignored his taunts and continue to flee deeper down the hallway. Harry pursued the fleeing zombie while occasionally tried to hit it with bludgeoning hex. He managed to roughen up the glowing zombie, it was rolling and bouncing around violently, but it always managed to get up with a jump and continue to flee as though nothing was wrong.

Not only the glowing zombie was faster, it was also stronger and more durable than the ordinary zombie that he praised for its cockroach-like resilience.

Harry also had already tried the freezing charm which stop the target from moving, but it was failed to reach the target.

It was too far from him.

This is because the freezing charm range is too short, but it best when used against many targets just like he did back then as it could affect a large number of enemies.

Harry was started to get tired of the nonstop running and the glowing zombie also getting further and further away from him.

Fortunately, the place was not too big. After 10 minutes of chasing, he finally stopped his stride and just watched as the glowing zombie went inside the unusual passage.

Harry approached the entrance of the passage and carefully observed the place.

He was not in a hurry to hunt his prey.

It's more important to understand the situation first.

The passage contains stairs that lead underground and he couldn't see the end of the passage.

He turned to the left side of the stone wall around the passage and saw a sunken part of the wall. It was quite small and easily gone unnoticed by inattentive people.

Harry didn't need a special means to find out that the wizard papa was the one to open the secret passage underground.

It was because the whole place was filled with scorching mark!

With Lumos in wand, he walked down the stairs with unhurried gait just like someone that walked in the park to savor the scenery.

Though there's no scenery here to see.

The whole passage is plain, but the wall is different from the ruined buildings. It looks very old as if it has been here ages ago, way before the disaster struck the city.

As Harry walked deeper into the tunnel, he felt the old building started to get more gloomy. From time to time, he could hear strange and creepy sounds from the deepest part of the passage.

After a long walk, the stairs finally ended and he saw a wide hallway of the ancient ruin. There are many weird drawings and symbols etched on the wall.

"This is amazing..." Harry exclaimed in amazement, "This is similar to the pictures of the tomb uncle Ben used to show me when I was a child."

Harry observed the marking and symbols, but he doesn't understand a thing.

"Uncle Ben would be ecstatic when he knows about this." A sad smile formed on his lips. He had no idea if he could go back to his world and meet his family once again.

"Okay! that's enough depression for one day." He clapped his cheeks, "The fact that I can go to this world meant that I can also go to another world."

This fact puts him in a good mood and Harry continues his walk deeper into the tomb with wand in hand.

"There should be other creatures in this place other than that glowing zombie right? the lack of light will prove to be a hindrance once I encounter a monster in this place..."

"Ordinary Lumos will not do... Let see... there should be some variation of Lumos out there. Mm... this one is not bad."

Harry flicked his wand twice and muttered, "Lumos Maxima!

A white light shot out from his wand into the distance, it brighten the passage and dispelled the darkness away from him.

After some time, the white ball of light stopped flying and floated obediently above the floor.

Harry got himself a floating light bulb!

"Not bad." He nodded.

Satisfied, Harry caster several Lumos Maxima along the hallway until the tombs were filled with bright light.

Now, the sight was very different from the creepy and gloomy tomb from before.

With the change of scenery, his mood also brighten just like the place.

Harry resumed his venture deep into the tomb. Even though he hasn't seen any coffins and the likes that suggest this place as a tomb, there's no other better way to address this place.

After all, for what purpose someone built a deep and large underground passage other than a place to bury some important figure. Hence a tomb was more likely to be the case.

Along the way, Harry spotted a trace of a battle. There's some charred flesh scattered around the ancient stone floor.

"Huh? this is..." Harry approached the familiar creature leaning against the wall and nudge the remain with his leather boot, "Is this the glowing zombie that fleed from me?"

The flesh was charred and the corpse was not intact. The right hand was sliced cleanly while the head is nowhere to be found.

Harry kneels and touched the charred flesh with his finger, "It's still warm, they're not far from here..."
