The figure of a woman wearing black carefully checks the footprints on the ground as she uses some gadgets to see in the darkness. However, as soon as her sight goes to the tree she noticed that the footprints suddenly disappeared.

This baffled her a bit because judging from the tree she could not find anything about it which looks like a place to hide. Because from what she is seeing the tree is only as thick as an arm and behind it is a rock. So this baffled her, as she carefully walks around to see if there are other footsteps in the place.

When Joe Wang saw this he almost cursed himself for forgetting to erase the footsteps of Master Wang. He was able to erase his footsteps but Master Wang is different.

"I guess I don't have a choice but to face this old hag then." Joe Wang thought.

He then climbs up and appears on one of the branches.

"Hello!" he suddenly said which startled the woman.

Master Wang, on the other hand, just watches what's happening and prepares himself to take action if necessary.

"Why are you following like a thief?" Joe Wang added with a grin.

"What? What do you mean to follow? Who are you that I should follow you? I'm just passing by in this place… Wait a minute, why are you here? Where is Master Wang?"

"Huh? What do you mean by that?"

"What do I mean? Master Wang is with…" the woman suddenly stopped.

She was aware of the mistake she made while talking to the brat.

"Che, So, you are really following us. I'm guessing you are part of the group that's terrorizing this place. And from the smell of blood in your hands, it seems that you've killed the old man with you… What a sinister plot." Joe Wang sneered.

Upon hearing his words, the woman's expression suddenly changed. It was a quick change from looking innocent to having a sinister grin on her face.

"Hehe, I guess I can't hide it from you. What a clever boy, Master Wang truly found a prodigy. But alas, your life would be short-lived."

She said as she suddenly flashed from where she stood and quickly appear in front of Joe Wang who was a bit taken aback from her abrupt action.

The sound of a sword cutting through the wind appears near Joe Wang's ears which means that her target is to decapitate him in just one move.

Clang!!! Bang!!!

Joe Wang raised the mace which appears in his hand. But was not able to defend himself, as his figure flew out from the branch like a cannonball and breaking the ground below.

"Ugh! That was dangerous. I guess the 5th stage spirit refining realm cultivators are still too strong for me to handle… normally." Joe Wang thought as he grimaces in pain while picking himself up.

As soon as he stood up, the woman's figure suddenly appears from his side and sent him an uppercut. This time, Joe Wang didn't just do anything and immediately uses his absolute sense. With it active, he immediately tilted and mace he is holding and directly pointed the sharp tip to the incoming hand of the woman.

With her cultivation higher than Joe Wang, the woman, of course, saw what Joe Wang is planning and turn her fist into claws. The sharp tip of the mace passes through in-between her fingers as she grabs the metal head. Then directly twist and push it towards Joe Wang's shoulder.

Joe Wang noticed this and wanted to dodge, but her option was only two. Either to let go of the mace or jump back. But either of the two is an option for him. So he created the third one.

The mace suddenly banished from her grasp. And her claw strike went pass Joe Wang's shoulder barely grazing his clothes.

Then she suddenly felt a pang of pain on her side, which turns out to be her blind side.

Joe Wang immediately jumps back with the mace in his hand ready for another bout.

Drip! Drip!

Blood began to drip on the woman's side as a puncture hole appears.

"You were too naïve to face this lord. Although I am weaker than you, my battle experience is richer and more diverse. Heck, I even fought with immortals in my past life." Joe Wang thought as he sneered at the woman.

With a look of anger, the woman turns her body but the pain made her winch. She had underestimated her opponent because of his cultivation and age. But it seems to have almost cost her, her life.

"You're going to die for this." said the woman as she gritted her teeth while brandishing her sword.

Then she suddenly ran towards Joe Wang, but this time her speed seems to have been affected by her wound, hence Joe Wang was able to see her movement clearly.

The flow of air distorted as the woman sword dances while attacking Joe Wang. Although he is able to see her sword strikes, Joe Wang could not counter because of the speed of her follow up combo. So without a choice, he was in full defensive in this bout.

The handle of the mace slowly became chipped as the blade of the woman hits it. But her expression became exasperated as she noticed that every time the mace is damage badly, Joe Wang would closely dodge her attacks and when he defends again the mace would have already gone back to being fine.

"I could not keep this for too long, my strength is fading… What if Master Wang returns?" she thought as she suddenly moved and change her attack to a stab.

Although surprised, Joe Wang didn't show fear as he suddenly rolled to the ground, dodging the killing blow. As soon as he stopped rolling on the ground, the woman saw that an old man appear standing next to the boy, it was Master Wang.

"Miss Chang, it seems that you have betrayed the cultivation society. Oh, not Miss Chang, I guess I should call you 'Black Rose' of the Black Lotus sect."

"Hehe… I never thought that my name would be known by even you, old Master Wang. But this place would be your graveyard. My Black Lotus Sect would not let you leave this place alive. *cough…"

"So, the Black Lotus is what causing this disturbance in this forest… what is your aim?" Master Wang asked in curiosity.

"Keke… I don't have to tell you anything… You will all soon learn the truth. Kekeke…" she said as she suddenly filled her legs with Qi and rushes towards Master Wang pointing her short forward.

Seeing her action, Master Wang shook his head. Then with a flash, he appears on the side, and with a flash of glint from his sword, a head flew up still containing an expression of unwillingness.

"I guess this explains why the cultivation society wasn't able to discover anything upon entering the forest. The Black Lotus sect is behind all of this. Young lad, our path separates here. I will have to go deeper and investigate further while you should take this to our main office." Master Wang said while taking out a paper and then wrote some things in it and after folding handed it to Joe Wang.

However, the old man showed an adamant face.

Master Wang showed a grateful smile and took a peek inside the small pouch. From inside he saw five pendants in the shape of a dragon. He took one out and carefully scrutinized it.

"Hmm… is this a new artifact he made? That young guy is really talented. I hope he decides to join the cultivation society…" Master Wang said as he put it on his neck and feel something change in his aura.

"Hmm? My Qi seems to be regenerating even without me cultivating. This… this is a treasure. That young brat… Hehe…" Master Wang laughed while shaking his head.

He knew how dangerous the place he is going to. But as a member of the cultivation society, it is his job to find out and stop the Black Lotus sect from what they are planning to do.

However, Joe Wang noticed one of the soldiers in the group with an odd expression. So he observed that person with his absolute sense. And true to his conjecture that soldier suddenly showed a fierce glare as he turns around.

Joe Wang was permitted to enter and go with the procedures, however, he didn't let go of the soldier. Then he saw that person sneakily taking his mobile phone.

From there he saw him typing.

'The old man is still in the forest, Master Black Rose will take care of him. The boy is just a coward no worries.'

Upon seeing this, Joe Wang sneered.
