Joe Wang's home

Dinner time and the family is together having their dinner, Joe Wang is silently gobbling his food while his mother and father are discussing something about their day, his sister Cynthia Wang would always take glances of Joe Wang every now and then as if wanting to say something.

After dinner everyone did their own chores. Joe Wang chore is to take the trash outside for the garbage truck to collect in the morning.

While walking down the stairs, Joe Wang notices the footsteps following him.

"Joe wait!" his elder sister called.

When he turns around he can saw Cynthia looking at him with an anxious gaze. He just raises one of his brows as if asking silently what she wanted.

"Umm… I wanted to ask you something… about Melissa. You… you two are going out, right? So… I wanted to ask if… if you can ask her to introduce me to… to a guy."

"A guy?" Joe Wang asked with a suspicious look on his face.

"It's… it's not what you think�� I… there is this guy which is recommended by the student body president, I need to interview him so that I can get some information for my thesis. That guy is close to her, so please ask her if she can introduce me." Cynthia explained.

"Oh, okay… no problem. I will tell her tomorrow. What's the name of the guy?" Joe Wang replied with a smile.

"It's Min Guxin… He is one of the student assistants in the Engineering department." She said feeling a bit excited.

"Oh, okay."

Cynthia felt a little happy and nods her head.

"Thank you little brother." She said sweetly as she ran back inside the house.

When Joe Wang finished throwing the trash, he decided to make a call. And not long later someone picks up at the end of the line.

"Hello, Joe, you called?" a sweet voice from the other end of the line answered.

"Hey, Mel… Umm… my sister is asking me if you can introduce someone to her for her thesis… it's a guy named Min Guxin." Joe Wang said.

*Cough *Cough

He suddenly heard Melissa suddenly coughing at the end of the line.

"Are you okay?" he asked a bit worried.

"…"

"Hello?"

"Ah… yes sorry about that. Umm… it would be hard for me to do that, Joe."

"Why?"

"Because… because that guy is one of my suitors. And I've always denied him, now what do you think would happen if I suddenly ask for a favor?"

"Joe… I… I saw the rumor about you before. And I want you to know that, if… if… your girlfriend can't accept you, then I will. I don't mind at all." She said then bits her lips waiting for his response.

Joe Wang felt a bit confused, but seeing the anxious expression on Beiring Jin's face, he felt warm in his heart. He could not believe that besides Melissa Krin someone is still willing to accept him. However he can't accept her feelings as he already loved Melissa and has chosen to her partner in this world.

"I understand. Thank you for the gesture." Joe Wang said politely while patting Beiring Jin's shoulder.

"Umm… Joe… If… If you have time, you can go to Martial Hall today. We have a match against Delta North High school."

Joe Wang nods his head. It would not be bad to see the kids perform. Although he knew that they are just beginners in the martial world, but maybe he can see something different this time.

As Joe Wang enters the school with a calm stride, Beiring Jin followed behind him.

5 pm Delta East High School Martial Hall

Joe Wang sat at the second-floor seat of the Martial Hall along with other students as the hall is already filled with people. This exhibition match is part of the students' training sessions to further enhance their fighting and battle experience.

From his seat he can already see the blue and white martial arts uniforms of the students from the Delta North High School, while Delta East High School wore a white and red martial arts uniform.

Beiring Jin is going to face a woman, as tall as her, but looks a bit sturdy. And Tai Hong will be having a match with a cute girl.

After that, the first match immediately began. It was a guy from the Delta East High School who has an imposing manner against a pudgy looking lad from the Delta North High School.

The two faces against each other and when the referee shouted fight, the two immediately clashed.

As soon as they did, Joe Wang lost his interest.

The two are just normal people with a little bit of ability. However, they could not get the attention of the higher-ups on the VIP viewing platform.

And not long later, a winner was called. It was the pudgy lad from the Delta North High School.

Then another match was called, and the same thing happened, a normal fight but this time Delta East High School won.

The third fight got Joe Wang's attention at it was his friend Tai Hong against a cute little girl. He can clearly notice the reluctance on Tai Hong's face to fight the girl. But he knew that the little girl is not that simple.

So when the two faces against each other, Joe Wang immediately saw the girl's speed and knew that she can use Qi. In his estimate, she could just be a 1st level cultivator.

It was a fight between a mortal and a cultivator.
