Argument

The path where Maxon's other friends are staying at is not too long, even though their destination is a little bit beyond the camp. Even an average person can circle the camp in three minutes. Amidst their walking, they heard various arguments. The two of them turned and saw the chief being surrounded by people. They spoke pessimistic and rude comments.

"How do you expect us to live if those group of criminals are targeting as all?" A middle-aged man rudely spoke to the other party, which is the chief.

"Please calm down Jonathan, things may not be like that." The chief assured him and persuaded the villagers that everything will be fine.

"How do you expect us to be alive? We are hunted by bloodthirsty animals like them!" A villager exclaimed and the other villagers, men and women, protested.

"They could be after our precious treasury and cash!"

"They want to capture us for their bloody human experiments, how do you expect us to live peacefully after this event!"

Cries of anguish and panic circled among the villagers. Their voices are so loud that no one can hear the chief speaking anymore.

The duo, Maxon and Samantha, was very curious and proceeded to ask a nearby villager. "Uncle, uncle, Why are they fighting?"

The nearby villager, an uncle was full of fury and mad but didn't join their argument, but when he heard the question from the kids, he vented and laughed bitterly. "Hahaha, kids, the chief wants us to be eaten by tigers and wolves, and make us scream in despair."

The duo was horrified and terrified from his answer, they shook in panic and felt their legs go soft. The uncle smiled and was satisfied. The person near him, his wife was also shocked by his answer and punched him, although it did a little effect to the uncle.

"Alvin, what lies are you telling them. You are such a disgrace!" Alvin's wife was really, really angry when he spouted nonsense just to scare them. "They are just little kids, why take advantage of their innocence."

"Shouldn't we tell everyone the plight that is happening right now? We won't live long, I tell you." Alvin, the uncle, was a mad lad. His temper reaching near that of an insane person, maybe he is already one.

His wife's temper... also reached to the peak and bombarded him with dozens of questions and reflections. She was really angry, not sparing him even as her husband.

The duo was really scared, the thought of being eaten by a tiger and wolf alone chilled them to the bones. Their eyes were very wet and would start crying anytime soon. Alas, they really did cry. Their cries where heard by everyone around them and thrown a questioning look at Alvin, the perpetrator of the children's cries.

"Do-don't look at... at me, I ne-never did, any-anything." No one can survive the stares of the villagers, even the uncle is not an exception. Adding to the guilt he had, made him look so suspicious.

Afraid other people would trash him in public, he ran away from the people's eyes and left the camp. Even not bothering his wife's call for him to come back.

Some people came over and comforted the two kids, Maxon and Samantha. "The bad guy earlier was telling you lies. Don't worry about it."

The kids had the lies of the uncle ingrained in their memory and Maxon asked the people in front of them with a look of assurance, even though his eyes are wet. "Lies?"

"Yes, lies." An auntie reassured and comforted him. "Tigers and wolves will never be found here under the village's watch."

[Somehow... how can this narrator say it, the tension is solved thanks to the two kids??] .. The village chief was dumbfounded with the atmosphere changing quickly. The once heavy tension became lighter in a blink of an eye, but also felt bad of the kids and tried to gave them a token of thanks. "Everyone listen, the perpetrator earlier, the farmer Alvin, can never step into our camp again unless he gives a sincere apology to the two kids and their families, understand?" It was more of an order than an announcement. No one found this weird and they nodded and took note.

The camp was united once more, even though some people still had doubts with their safety and felt like asking the chief but their expectations were answered. "For this day and the following four days, we will set camp here. I have asked help from an urban city in which they accepted. We will have to stay for five days and they will escort us there to safety."

Cheers were given and many villagers applauded for the chief's reminder. They were finally safe and has had nothing to worry. They just have to endure five days which is not too long for them. They are not really worried for attacks on the camp since it's a well secluded location that the village picked and checked for dozens of times.

It took ten minutes to calm the duo down after the repeated comforts from the fellow villagers. This time the two were laughing at the jokes given by the villagers. They were going on and on for a long time until Maxon realized he have to meet with his friends right now. "Hey Samantha, our friends will scold us because we are late. Let's go right now."

Samantha now realized she almost forgot this matter even though she initially told him about it. Her face turned red with shame as she replied. "I'm coming."

It took less than a minute to arrive before a building. It's not a house or an inn. It was an old castle that is seemingly abandoned. They arrived near a cave which grew vines, flowers, and trees. Maxon was surprised from the spectacle that his mouth turned O-shaped as he exclaimed. "Wow, it looks cool."

"Me, Oliver, Richard, and Rose found the castle yesterday when they were running around the camp. This is our new secret base." Samantha explained. She was told by them to visit this location and bring Maxon to their secret base. There would they find fun and play games with no parents holding them back.

Both of them entered the castle, the door was already open and had lights flashing within. As they enter, both of them saw three people lighting up the lamps, down to the floor they saw a weird symbol made with chalk on the floor.

Maxon ran after them. "What are you doing guys?" The three of them looked at the invited party and exclaimed. "Maxon, you are finally here!"

"Samantha told us you were sleeping very peacefully last night. You slept so early Samantha's parents told us to go on without you." A girl in red clothes explained.

The girl in red clothes is Rose Addison. Her face is also pale with black hair but had a pretty upbringing obviously with makeup. Her parents owned a salon shop. They were quite famous in the village. Her parents are also living in the camp.

"We are going to summon underworld spirits." A kid with glasses closed his book and turned to Maxon.
