The man has a lite yellow handle bar mustache and glasses that hang around his neck. He has a large belly and a green apron on. His eyes get really big as he stares up at me. He says, "fascinating." He comes up from around the desk.
"What are you?" He asks walking around me. He carefully takes one of my wings and stretches it out as he puts his glasses back on his nose. "How large are your wings? Do they function? "Oh lateral measure. Where is that stupid lateral measure," he says completely ignoring me as he runs back to the desk and riffles through the papers and books on the desk.
I tilt my head to the side and just look at him. This was not the reaction I had expected. A whistle sound goes off above his head and he jumps. There is a clear vial over a red flame above his head. It has a bubbling brown liquid in it. He jumps up moving with surprising speed for a big man. He pulls the cord and steam comes out of the vial. "Hmmm," he says looking up at the steam, "So if I add wind magic to the mixture earth magic is created very interesting. Most wonderful." I take a step forward. Standing right in back of him as I say, "Why didn't you run? I'm sure you heard the explosions and fire. I blasted one through your home."
He grabs a round ball from the wall. It has a hole in the top to hang it and turns around to me taking my wing he presses it against the wing and a light line appears. "What? Run? how could I? I have much to important things to do. What about all my experiments? No, No, I can't just leave, much, to much to do. My name is Wizzal," he says as he takes my hand. It still has blood on it but he appears to ignore that as he examines my claws.
He is a weird man that is for sure. "I'm a Florensin. What are you? I've never seen anything like you before. I'm also the village alchemist, crack pot and wizard. I'm the only wizard in this village actually. We can glow in the dark. Like a glow grub." He takes out a knife and looks like he's about to cut one of my claws. I take my hand back and say, "I don't know what I am. As for you, give me a reason not to kill you."
He looks at me as he puts away the knife with a look of disappointment in his eyes. He shrugs his shoulders and turns around heading for the far wall. "I'm much to intelligent to be killed. Do you know magic?" Not waiting for a reply he continues, "Oh you must sense you made that black fire." He runs his hand across a line of jars, grabs a jar from the shelves and comes back holding it out. He says, "Breath fire in this for me would you." I take the jar and ask, "Can you teach me magic?" Looking up at me he says, "Of course I can. As long as you have aptitude. Now, fire would you?" I start playing with the jar. Lick my lips and say, "Then I'll play this game. You teach me magic, and I'll show you what I can do, but from this moment on you are my slave, your life, is in my hands."
I breath a small fire into the jar and symbols appeared around the outside of the jar then vanish. I hold it out for him, and wait. He takes the jar looking at the small black fire burning in the jar and says, "Fine, Fine as long as I get to do my research it does not matter. You know slavery was abolished over 500 years ago." I just laugh and watch him put a cover on the jar. The symbols appear on the cover and then vanish. He puts the jar in a bag hanging on a chair. I look at it in surprise. I just saw him put the jar in the bag but it doesn't look like he put anything in it.
He looks at me and sees the look on my face. "This is a Void bag. It's one of my inventions." He puffs out his chest, "Never looks like anything is in it, and it never runs out of space. Water proof, and time just stops in the bag. Also things float in the void and come to your hand when you think of the item, if it's in the bag. It also can only be use by one person. Anyone else reaches in it will be a normal bag with whatever the user chooses there to be when they place the item in the bag. He smiles and says, "If you stay here and help me with my research I'll make you one." "Now that can be useful," I think. I look at him and say, "agreed."
He claps his hands and says, "Wonderful, but first we must do something about how you look. You stand out." I smile and ask, "You got clothing and a washroom." As I shrink my teeth, claws, tail and wings start the vanish into my body, and my skin becomes blue. I look down at myself in surprise. I've never turned into a humanoid creature. I look just like a Florensin. He rubs his eyes and says, "Fascinating," as he runs to get me clothing.
