Training
Looking back at where the voice came from, I saw the instructor NPC looking at me with pity on his eyes and a little bit of understanding, nostalgia, and a little bit of wonder.
Seeing me waiting for a follow up, the NPC continued his advice.
"Kid, in using swords, like the one you're using, you don't have to use a lot of force, just the right amount. Plus, it's easier to slash with a sword, using its edge." (Instructor NPC)
Seemingly satisfied with was he said, the NPC returned to his post, and looked at me as if telling me that he is watching me perform what he told me.
Me being the good boy I think I was, I took my stance with the sword and measured the distance between me and the training dummy. I found out that the tip of the sword's edge passed through the dummy with the sword's edge middle part hitting the dummy every time I smashed the sword against it earlier.
So I took a few steps backward and retook my stance, then smashed the sword at the dummy with lesser strength applied than what I did earlier.
There was a little rebound as the sword swiped across the dummy and left a cut on it as I was amazed at how big the difference there is between my previous actions to my present.
But thinking that there is still too much force applied, I hit again the dummy with the sword but this time with only with my right hand to lessen the force applied behind the act.
The result was lacking as the sword's tip was stuck at the dummy as the dummy bit at it due to the insufficient force behind the act.
Small steps or big step, it is still a step nonetheless.
And a journey is composed by steps.
Thus, I embark on a journey towards greatness as I build up my foundations.

Just kidding.
But it was true that I was building up my foundation as I grasp my virtual body's information when I continue to hit the dummy with the sword and some other weapons for two weeks in real life.
The stares from other player was somewhat annoying and some downright irritating. But I kept my perseverance on as I experimented with various actions possible to be done with my virtual body.
For two weeks, I woke up early, eat, exercise, check my savings, then logged into the game, went to the training area and continue to conduct my experiments as I rotate between various melee weapons and noted things I would really use as my foundation.
Changes did not much happened during the duration and my stats did not rise up that much to my expectations. However, I learned different weapon handling and some auxiliary skills as I test various hypothesis during the two weeks of training.
Unfortunately, for some reason, my affinity stat did not move from 0.
And as I was expecting some hidden event to happen but did not even showed some signs of something to relate to them was the most disappointing thing within the two weeks.
Here I was thinking that my hard work may trigger some kind of event and waited with anticipation that some quest will fall into my lap and BAM! receive some boost up or power up then become an instant OP character and attract some females like those in the stories I read in my free time.
Well, I did talk to some players as they asked me what I was doing and had a little conversation with them as they found my actions somewhat interesting, but founding out that nothing good happened to me and seeing no signs of something good to happen, they moved on and then they lost all of they curiosity altogether. I was left alone in the side doing my own thing as I watch them come and go on the training area on my spare time.
I even heard some amazing things from the system announcement that the players within the training area, including me were left in amazement and curiosity on how the players did those achievements. But as the time goes for two weeks in training, I lost interest on the next news as it somehow became irritating when it was being announced while I was trying to focus on my training.
After two weeks of training on the training area and having satisfied with what I have done, my stats became like this:
