After being satisfied with my training for two weeks in the training area, I decided to now start my journey to earn money.

Well, I decided that after realizing that I would not be able to have an ample time to work due to how most of the time I would be inside the game, I research and found out that it is possible to earn real world currency by selling items in-game. Thinking that I would be able to at least cover my expenses even without rely on luck just by constantly selling loots from monster, saving in-game currency and selling it for real world currency through the black market if ever there is no official market introduced by the game devs.

One might ask how did I achieve those skills, talent, and ability from my training, as I applied what I learned from novels just like other characters from those novels would and ask the instructor NPC present the relevant information in case it did not work directly the same from the information from the novels.

The rest is just trial and error.

Hunting in a virtual reality game where realism is somewhat near the reality is clearly different from games played through consoles. One did not just prepare equipment and items, check stats and skills, search for monsters, and finally defeating them. Rinse and repeat.

That may be how it looks generally, but doing it in a VR game would be much more tedious.

Not only it would take much longer time to procure good equipment and items, but there would be a need to discern good equipment and items, as creating equips and items are not just recipe, collect, and create, leading to equips and items of differing qualities. One would not be wishing of a godly equips and items from a godly player that has experience from real world as there would be assistance from the system (according to the game devs from their official forums), but one should at least pick out better equips and items from the rest to have a good chance of obtaining more loot from more monsters to hunt. Searching for monsters may be just the same from the console where one player should search on the spawning area, but travelling to that area is not waiting, but actual travelling, making the process more tedious. Fighting mobs on the game may not be bloody as fighting in the real world (according to the player's settings), but the process in fighting them is clearly more tedious than those on the console. Plus, it is more stressful with the senses, uncommoness of the action, and whatnot.

So I spent time on the forums gathering information, then on the market and town streets (hoping for a chance encounter) gathering items, then finally walking around the town gathering quest to be completed on my monster hunting session. Of course I only accepted quests without time limit.

Quests with time limits may give higher rewards than those without, but considering that I don't have a record to compare (data found on the internet are not yet credible), relying only on my capabilities to solve quests within the time limit is just asking for a risk that may not be present after gathering enough data later on.

--- after a few moments of walking and realizing that there is a field for newbies outside of town ---

...

...

- many more ellipses because manual was too shocked -

I searched for a vacant spot on the area, or rather, a monster that no one is preying upon.

But I... FAILED!

Even though it is already the second week, the user density within the newbie area is still going strong that my plan for a smooth sailing of training-farming-get-drops-sell-rinse-and-repeat towards a new source is steady income is already showing its cons as I no way of securing a good place.

So search I did.

I manage to find a wild boar my size after distancing myself away from the town were the player count became lesser until I stumbled upon an area where players are not much present.

Like the noob I am, I just secured that there is no other presence than the wild boar and just dashed towards it.

Stealth? Ambush?

Nah, I can't even manage to silence the rustle from the grass I am stepping on, so what use is trying to hold my breath?

So I try to lessen the distance between me and the boar while its attention is still on its food, and make sure that my direction is on the blindspot of its area of perception.

After I closed in enough,

[Burst]

I stomped my foot hard on the ground to jump diagonally towards the boar.

As I ready my sword for a downward slash, I gripped it tight with both hands,

[Force Strike]

My sense of time slowed as adrenalin kicked in into my system.

As I locked on my target on the boar's rear side, I secured my excitement on my success.

I swung my sword downwards-

[You died]
