Chapter 21; Lilium (Part 1)

*Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.*

– Abraham Lincoln

They froze and so did I,my unconscious was dragged down into the abyss once more but instead of being in either a warm room or one for torture I sat in a chair tied down by maybe a million chains. I couldn't see,my eyes were hollowed out. I was startled and scared,I don't think I'll have any sleep after this. Shallow breathing echoed around me, though it didn't belong to me but two others,I could hear their hearts beating like drums against my ears creating a weird symphony of rhythm, mostly because the hearts were out of sync and yet they sounded good together. Faint sounds of liquid dripping made the hearts fluttery sounds, sound like it was competing. Coppery and salty scents wafted around me making me cringe. I could still smell the water, infact I was wet, which means the dream did not chance rather we were pulled into a room and onto a chair, but how in the world could two giant serpents fit on chairs? It doesn't make sense!

"Lilium, breath." Two voices, one cold as ice and the other as warm as fire warned me. I gasped and jumped at the use of my name, taking a breath that I didn't know I was holding. Then I felt the bandages over my eyes, though I had none I could feel them there. A scraping noise interrupted the sudden silence in the room, even the sound of the hearts and dripping echoes faded to a stop. Footsteps drew closer, a scent new to me came closer with it,yet there was no beating or fluttering, only a slight throb that could be mistaken for a tap on the floor was all that I could make out, it leaned forward it's nose touching my own,I felt it's lips against my own and I recoiled in disgust at the sudden contact of skin, I hated skin contact unless I was the one who issued it. Laughter boomed from the creature with dry lips and celpy breath.

"Ah,the lady of the fire had awoken, though not fully it seems, when will you join us for real,oh great-"

" Shut the hell up, Sézer." Growls the cold voice sending a shiver of fear down my spine, somehow boiling my blood at the same time. It's laughter once again racked through the cell we were in,it felt like my body was burning up, funny as I'm not usually effected by increase of temperature no matter how hot.

"Ahhh, you are so over protective of the poor girl, hasn't she pushed you far enough? Hasn't she..... killed you enough? " The creature said with clear distain, his fist connecting with my jaw.

I woke with a start, the dim lighting of the room made me conscious of my location, I was in my living room on the lower floors of the mansion, Derek must've carried me here and was to lazy to take me up stairs to my room, or was to shy, nope not the type for being to shy. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, what the hell was that? How do those people know me, and how could I kill someone over and over again, I don't have the power to restore someones life no matter how much I wish I did. And what did she mean by the lady of fire, I know I like fire but come on!

"Miss Rai!" Startled I jumped to my feet and roundhouse kicked the man that had ran into the room the instant he shouted. My eyes widen in surprise, shock and fear, I knelt down and helped Mr.Mason to his feet.

"I'm so sorry, Mr.Mason,I just had a bad dream so I was a bit jumpy, what time is it?" I ask looking around searching for the grandfather clock that usually sat near the fire place.

"It's 9 pm, Miss Rai." Mr. Mason answered calmly, my eyes shot up to meet his, wide.

" What? Did I sleep through the entire day?!" I nearly shouted.

"Indeed you have Miss Rai, I had wanted to wake you up but you seemed so at piece.... "The man trailed off. I was once again frozen to my spot, I looked at piece? I was tortured and I was massively stressed out and I looked like I was having a nice nap? Shaking my head I smiled up at the man.

"Alright, I'm going up stairs and after that I might go out, if you don't mind? " I ask already walking out of the living room.
