Chapter 45; At Death's Door

* There are two things that are infinite, the universe and human stupidity..... Though I am not so sure about the universe.*

My eyes were burning as I sat with bated breath in the backseat of the Jeep, Scott had gone over to Alison's to get the bullet shell to get rid of the wolfsbane in Derek's blood. It didn't help that the bane seemed to make the enticingly sweet scent stronger or that Stiles had practically forced Derek to sit next to me. We had left my bike and new car behind because apparently I had to come with cause someone was to big of a wuss to sit in the cramped space of the Jeep with a potentially dangerous and half dead werewolf. In a state or worry my feet tapped loudly on the floor of the car, causing Stiles to sent occasional glares my way, which I ignored since I hadn't let anyone see my eyes since those first slip up's last year. Stiles scrunched his nose up suddenly and severed to the side of the road, I kept my eyes trained on the forest as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.

"That's it! Get your werewolf ass out of my Jeep, your stinking it up!" Stiles nearly snarled, I gave him a fleeting look before turning away.

"He's staying,Stiles,he's dying, either let him stay or he'll rip your head off and eat you up so that he could heal, I suggest you either start driving again,or...face his wrath. Your choice." I breathed out through gritted teeth, Stiles gulped and turned away mumbling something about rather having his car stink then him being seven feet under. He then typed on his phone and a few seconds later he looks like he's gone paler than I am. He groaned and started the engine again.

"What?" Derek asks his voice shaking slightly, not strong enough for a human to hear though.

" Scott says that he doesn't have it and that I should meet him at the Vet that he works at once he does and that you should hang in." Stiles grumbles.

"What does he think I've been doing?" Derek growls making Stiles jump.

" Probably that you've been rotting my Jeep up." Stiles says but quietly thinking we couldn't hear him.

" I hope you realise Derek had heard." I hummed as I opted to drum my fingers on my thighs to keep my hands from grabbing either of the two and draining them both. He mutters a cuss word under his breath as he parks at the back of the Vet, helping Derek out as I jumped out gracefully and took a great leap before I was several yards away, gulping in fresh air as if it was water. I turned and ran back helping Stiles into the Vet by opening the door and letting them, both in. Derek was laid down on a steel table were he was holding his arm as if it would fall off at any time, which I suppose isn't so far from the truth. His skin looked a lot greyer than my sweater now, to the point that I feel sick just looking at it, imagine if I let myself...Dang it. I twirled around and paced the length of the room. Time seemed to pass slowly, it didn't help that Stiles had a call from his dad and needed to get out of the room for privacy, who would want a stranger and a scary wolf like Derek to hear themselves being scolded by their parent?

"Stop....pacing." Derek says having sat up.

"Can't."

"Just stop."

"I can't."

"Grrr, vampire girl if you don't stop pacing I'm going to force you to suck the wolfsbane out." Derek growled. I froze in my tracks and slowly turned to glare at him,my eyes a firey red. He flinched, not having expected my eyes to be red.

"If I don't pace then I'll drain you,if I do you'll force me to suck you dry, which sounds more threatening? Both right? Now let me pace in piece and keep your mouth shut, please." I say as I began to pace again, the seconds began to tick by slowly, but they soon turned to minutes and minutes to hours. I growled as I balled my hands up in to fists at my sides, my mind racing trying to find a solution to my current problem. Peter and I were going to have a really long chat once I see him again.

"Khaleesi.....please just...get the bane out of my system." Derek wheezed his eyes begging, my stomach dropped, he's like family to me so of course I feel bad about this, but there is no way that I could possibly do such a thing.

I shook my head as I resumed my pacing, I'm surprised that the concrete hadn't formed a path of feet from my pacing.

"I'm at Death's Door, Khaleesi, please." Derek begged his voice stronger.
