JIM [2]

While talking to Jim, Kai felt like having a blood pressure. The teenage boy was surely something else.

"Seriously! Before you do that just learn to have a proper manner, first!" he hissed.

"That new tenant next to Doc. Mendoza seems to be suspicious?" Jim said ignoring him.

"Who is that?" 

Kai pointed a man who came out in the lift opposite to Doc. Mendoza's lift. The man turn his heads towards her when he realized that doc. Mendoza was looking at him.

"He's the one I'm talking! I don't like him his kind of weird—like you" he suddenly laughed. "He always wears black, and I haven't seen his face either!"

Kai noted everything that Jim had told them, Jim was a bubbly, annoying boy in his teenage. But Kai could not deny the fact that he's smart.

Too smart to grow up to be either a good detective or a psychopath.

"What did you noticed on that day before the incident?"

"Humpf. .doc. Mendoza's boyfriend comes when she is not around, but I haven't seen him lately.!"

"She had a boyfriend?" Kai was seems to be shocked.

"Why not?" 

His eyes widened in shock as if Kai was the most clueless people he'd ever meet. 

"Isn't it normal to have a boyfriend in her age? I do have girlfriend—" he bragged shamelessly "You don't have?"

"We don't, were married!" 

Detective Flores save Jim on time before Kai would give him a nice whacked. 

It took for sometimes before Kai felt something weird while talking to Jim and Detective Flores, his vision started to double and slowly become blur. 

He shook his head couple of times to maintain his consciousness. 

"Sir, Are you alright?" 

Detective Flores asked him, but he could only hear the echo of detective Flores voice.

"GHB (Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid)" He said trying to concentrate. "This drug looks like water, it's tasteless and has no smell!"

Detective Flores gasped in shocked. He saw Kai drunk some of it a while ago.

"I still have some strength left, lets finished this before I doze off!"

Detective Flores take over the monitor.

"I told you there's something on it, you're so silly. What if, it was poison?" Detective Flores was nagging at him like a mother.

"Then, Doc. Mendoza was probably dead by now!" Kai barely speak. "That man and the delivery boy. .we have to find them, also Jim's grandfather could be a witness, we have to talk to him when he comes back!"

"I had a bad feeling about this!" Jim suddenly blurted out. "Actually I haven't seen my grandfather on that night but in the morning he called me to hurry up and come over. I didn't think much about it but when I came here, he was already gone which is very unusual!"

"You idiot—" Kai shouts but he suddenly coughs, he was trying hard to remain conscious. "Why you didn't tell us earlier, your grandfather could be in danger right now!"

"I didn't—"

"Whoa. .there's something!" 

Detective Flores gasped when he saw something in the monitor. Kai and Jim rushed towards him, they saw a man dragging a big black bag and tossed it inside a van.

"I just got a goosebump, Inside that bag looks like human—"

Kai shove him away to take a closer look, when they replay it in slow motion they notice that what ever inside the bag it suddenly moves. The size of it was perfectly fit in human.

"It was not Jim's grandfather, it was a delivery boy!" Kai identify it positively.

"How did you know?" detective Flores asked his boss.

"My grandfather is a big man, he won't fit in there!"  Jim answered sardonically.

"What are we going to do now?" Detective asked in dismay. "That boy could be a prime witness—"

"This is just a circumstantial evidence. Tell our men to find this plate number and any missing person male, probably eighteen years of age and that boyfriend—"

Kai suddenly fell on the ground before he could finished giving instruction, he already lost all his strength. Detective Flores stood for a while unable to comprehend what his supposed to do.

"Aren't you supposed to call an ambulance and bring him to the hospital?"

Jim casually told him like he was his boss, he just realized how much he wanted to give him a nice beating.

Detective Flores shook his head and dialed the nearest medical station.

"Give me a call just in case your grandfather will come back, if he is not home in three days give us a call, you got it?"

Jim nodded while examining the card Detective Flores had given to him, Jim seems to be tough but his expression suddenly become worried.

"Grandpa would be ok, right?"

"He will!" 

Detective Flores smiled at him before leaving with Kai in an ambulance. Though he finds Jim a bit annoying, but he understood that Jim was still a boy.

Meanwhile. .

Upon recalling everything what she remembered she just realized that something is actually off on that time.

First, the mysterious man she saw in the lift. Second was, when Devy told her she did not forget to lock the door, she should have believed in her. Third was the unfamiliar scent she smelled in their room, and last the suspicious delivery boy.

Lucy was certain that neither her or Devy did place an order for a bucket of fried chicken. Lastly, even if she had a terrible drinking habit, she just took one can of beer and Devy drunk three cans, there were still cans of beer that is not open.

"I need to talk to Detective Santillan—"

"You think you can escape in this hell?" 

Lucy heard someone talking to her softly. Only then she realized that there's someone sitting opposite to her, the woman in her forties was like studying her.

"Don't waste your breath talking to those bastard, there's no use!"

"I don't understand what you are talking?" Lucy asked confusedly.

"I killed a man for the sake of my daughter, he was my lover not until I caught him red-handed while raping my only child. I never regret killing him even if I do it a thousand times, what I regret the most is living my child alone!"

Lucy saw a burning hatred in the woman's eyes, but she knew that it was just normal. The woman in front of her is a mother, her child was a rape victim and rape by her own lover. 

"Where is she now?"

The woman suddenly raised her eyes and meet hers.

"If you want to get out in here, I'm going to help you!"

Lucy gasped in shocked, she looked around to see if the others was listening to them, but she was surprised to see the two women sleeping soundly as if they were just in their house.
