There are certain rules that had been created over the years and only the tweleve of them knew the unspoken ones. But their parents were curious by nature and so was the rest of the club. So unbeknowiest to the group of kids the adults of the MC had created a board hidden behind the bar that kept tabs on all the rules the group made up during the years. It all started when the three oldest had been ten years old:
Axel, Maybell and Temika were ten years old and running around the club. This was before any of the kids had their nicknames. The youngest were the two year old twins who trotted after the other three kids who were three, four and five. The middle children were seven, eight and nine and had become their own trio. So the oldest were currently avoiding the youngest kids and had become their own tight knit trio.
Currently the two girls were arguing with one another and Erik just looked annoyed.
"You cannot have the same favorite color as me!" Temika declared glaring at Maybell who glared right back.
"Blue is the best damn color there is and you do not get to claim a color for yourself!!" She argued back and Erik chose that moment to dip out and make a run for it.
"But you can't dye your hair blue! We can't match! I refuse to match hair colors with you!" Temika continued her argument as the rest of the club watched on.
They both had been given permission to finally dye their hair a color of their choice and apparently they both wanted blue. That was what had caused the argument to begin with.
"You do not get to dictate what color I can and cannot color my hair!" Maybell argued complete with clenched fist and a foot stomp.
"We'll its not fair! We already have matching outfits but matching hair is where I draw the line!" Temika was just as if not more stubborn than her best friend. The two girls were known for their explosive arguments and even their parents refused to get involve and just let it all play out.
"We became friends because we both loved the color blue! So you can't dictate that now!" Maybell arugued and to a ten year old it made perfect sense.
"But blue hair would just wash you out because you're so pale! " it was not an insult because between the two girls it was a fact that they never had an issue with.
Temika was dark skinned and Maybell was pale skinned and that was just a fact the two girls accepted. Somethings did not look good on Maybell because she was too pale and others didn't look the most flattering on Temika because it clashed with her dark akin tone. So to the two ten year olds it was a fact and nothing more.
But the statement was enough to stop Maybell from aruging further and actually stopped to think it through. Temika seeing this walked over to her friend and watched her think it through.
"You mean like how lepoard print looks better on you and on me it just looks ugly?" It was an honest question and something they had found out while out shopping one day with Temikas mom.
"Exactly like that and the fact that we compromised and made the rule that you are only allowed to wear zebra prints because they look amazing with your skin tone and I'm only allowed to wear lepoard prints because it looks good with my own skin tones." Temika stated and for the ten year olds it made sense.
"So if I can't dye my hair blue because it will wash me out what can I dye it as then??" Maybell looked at her best friend and they both stood there thinking. It was Erik who came up with the solution though.
"We'll red always goes with blue and vice versa. " the ten year old boy stated simply "besides I like red; its my favorite color. "
Both girls looked at him and shrugged at one another. "So new rule Maybell can only dye her hair various shades of red and Temika can only dye her hair various shades of Blue." Erik declared and they both looked at him.
"Is that an unspoked rule then?" Temika asked "because we already have five spoken rules and one unspoken rule and that would make a second unspoken rule. "
Not able to resist his curiosity the President looked at the trio and asked "what are your rules?"
They looked up at him and clearly stated them as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Don't go to bed angry at each other. Talk things through. Eriks banned from cooking;forever. Temika approves all fashion changes. Maybell approves all group dynamic changes. "
The three looked at each other and it was Temika who spoke next.
"So unspoken rule number one is Maybell is only allowed zebra print and I am only allowed lepoard print. No one else can wear these prints. "
Maybell picked up her train of thought "second unspoken rule will be that only Temika can have blue hair and only I can have red hair and no one else can have those hair colors but ourselves "
Erik grinned like he just achieved world peace and technically he had. His own world peace that is.
"So you both agree and the argument can just like end?" He asked hopeful that he could get some peace finally.
"Yeah that's fine. " both girls shrugged and the next day Temika came in with bright blue hair and Maybell had bright red hair.
For years after that they would both dye their hair various shades of their own respective colors but ultimately agreed that blue was the vest color out there. Not unnoticed by the adults was the fact that Maybell easily agreed to the color after Erik had stated it was his favorite color. So yes there were rules to the color Blue.
