First Fight ch.4

This was the first time that Alex saw something like this. He was shocked and there was blood everywhere. People were screaming, some people also tried to fight back using farming tools as weapons. But they were no match for the bandits, and Alex knew he had to do something.

But he was only at the novice rank currently, taking on so many people at once would be impossible for the current him. He decided to hide nearby, and formed icicles with his magic. He started to snipe the bandits with his icicle magic. The bandits weren't prepared for this and a lot got seriously hurt. They started to run away, after all no bandit would want to mess with a mage.

At this moment Lucky started chasing them, he was currently at the beginner beast rank. A bunch of unorganized bandits weren't his match. Lucky jumped from one bandit to the next and bit them. They were too busy running to notice the cat that jumped from one bandit to the next.

But once they noticed what was going on, it was already too late. After Lucky reached beginner rank he had also started to develop his first beast ability. Ice bite, any being bitten would be invaded by deadly ice energy, the ability was still pretty weak and wouldn't do much against martial artists or mages. But the bandits were normal people, and they quickly started to freeze.

Alex's stomach started to act up, he knew how this world was and that he would see people die sooner or later. But it was still pretty shocking for him. He prayed silently for the dead bandits and the villagers who had died. He hoped they could have a better life in their next life, a life were they wouldn't need to steal.

Alex patted Lucky who just had come back. Even if Lucky was a bit ruthless, he still did a good job. Sadly this world was very chaotic. If you weren't a noble or talented at martial arts or magics, then no one would give a damn about you. The death of a villager was viewed the same way as the death of livestock.

It was at this moment that Alex decided that he wanted to change this world. He would reach the peak of magic arts and use his powers to protect the weak. But he still had a long and difficult path before him. He started to travel again while looking back at the village a lot. He had just found a new source of motivation.

After another few days of travel he finally reached the Ice Phoenix Sect. This was the place were he was to to achieve all his plans. He entered and saw a lot of other kids, everyone hoped to get picked by a master of one of the branch sects. After all the sect had the right to refuse you if your talent wasn't great enough.

Alex already knew what branch sect he wanted to enter. It was the battle palm sect, a sect focusing on hand to hand combat and fist techniques. They used their fists instead of their weapons, but the main reason Alex wanted to enter this branch sect was because of the master of the branch sect. He was one of the few martial mages in this world. And he even reached the rank of an elemental master, having him as Master would greatly benefit Alex.
