Alex asked someone about where to find the Battle Palm sect. It was inside the Ice Phoenix sects territory, still another day walk from him. But soon he finally reached the battle Palm Sect.

A disciple stopped him at the front gate of the battle Palm Sect. "What brings you to our battle Palm Sect?" he said.

Alex looked up at him and bowed "I wish to become a disciple of the battle Palm Sect"

"Follow me" said the disciple, and walked to a small building and knocks on the door.

"Master someone wishes to join our sect"

"Come inside" a voice said from inside the building. Alex hesitated a bit, after all he was very nervous. The pressure from this conversation was even bigger than the pressure of job interviews in his old life. After all this master would have a very big influence on his life. He finally entered the building and saw a middle aged man sitting on a chair.

"So you wish to join the battle Palm Sect?"asks the man. Alex kneels and answers "Yes I believe that my future will be the brightest in the battle Palm Sect. And I also have great respect for you Master, after all I walk the path of a martial Mage too."

The face of the man was quite surprised after hearing that, after all martial mages were quite rare. But It would make sense for a martial Mage to choose his sect, since he was the only martial Mage in the Ice Phoenix sect.

"Good, I see that you are currently at the novice rank, don't be too impatient to reach beginner rank. The path of a martial Mage isn't a race, only by taking your time and training daily can you acquire true strength."

Alex nodded and felt embarrassed that this master saw right through him. Alex was really frustrated about not being able to reach beginner rank yet, who would have guessed that this master could notice it by just seeing him once. "What is your name?" The master asked. "My name is Alex, would Master please give me the honor of telling me his name"

The Master was happy that this youngster knew how to behave and that he respects his elders. " My name is Jackson Icepalm" said he said. "It is an honor for me to be a disciple of Master Icepalm" said Alex.

" Don't be so rash you aren't my disciple yet, you will get trained in the Ice palm technique. If you can master the basics of the technique within a month you will be accepted as a disciple." said Master Icepalm.

"I promise that I won't disappoint you and will give it my best to master this technique."

Alex and the master talked a bit longer, and after that Alex was given a room to sleep. Alex rested for the night, and in the morning a disciple came over and showed him the ice palm technique and trained together with him. The technique turned out to be more difficult than Alex thought, because after a full week was over he was still struggling a lot.

The Ice palm technique was a technique with the goal to make your enemies slower. The Ice energy rushed inside the enemies body when you struck out and would cool down their muscles or freeze them to slow the opponent down.

Alex didn't expect to struggle so much on his first technique, the path of martial arts was truly difficult. But Alex kept training day for day, and he slowly showed progress. And all the effort turned out to be worth it in the end, because Alex mastered the basics of the Ice palm technique within a month.

He was now formally a disciple of the battle Palm Sect. He felt very proud, he had proven himself to his master. But he didn't get arrogant because of this, instead he kept training day for day. And then something great happened, his master told him to come with him. Now that Alex learned the basics of the Ice palm technique, it was time for him to learn his first magic spell.
