‘Life Book’

Observing the interaction between Ryuk and Light, Momonga became bored, so he teleported himself into the skies while applying and to himself.

The skies were still blue, the clouds were white, there were many people walking around, moving as if ants were looking for food for their queen.

In his last life, Momonga was like this too, this was the norm of any society. There will always be classes, otherwise what is the point in trying to improve? Everyone is trying to be better than each other. If everyone was the same, society would stagnate.

Appearing in the skies, Momonga wondered what he should do? He could experience the wonders of this world, or see if this world and his old one was one and the same. If it was, he could find his mother and protect her, however observing the technology of this world, although surface level, it was clear that this world was nowhere near his old world, he also doubted it was the past of his original world.

There are other things he could do. The first is to find someone to hold his book and use it. However, he would be forced to follow this person for however long they may live, which even though he was immortal was not something he was too fond of. So maybe he should make a rule that the owner of his book will die a year after using it, if they don't give the book to someone else or return it within a week of obtaining it? He could also go a different route than being a Shinigami, especially since he was not a Shinigami.

He could become God, he could become the Devil, he could be whatever he wanted, the only thing limiting him was himself.

Secondly he could see if he could surpass lvl 100 and the outcome. Would he gain a new class or race change?

There was one last thing he could try, and that is finding out why Heaven and Hell didn't exist and the reason behind the Shinigamis existence.

They had to appear from somewhere, since they are not of the same dimension as humans. They have accomplished one of the two aspects to reach the level of universe creatures, which is Immortality and Time, of which they already partially accomplish the immortality aspect.

Looking up at the channels that apparently only he could see, Momonga thought for a minute before stepping through one of the channels.

Instead of falling like expected, he felt a sense of weightlessness, as if he was flying in the skies.

When Momonga came to, he was inside a world like the Shinigami Realm. In this world, there was nothing but ruins, debris, and corpses. This world was lifeless with a gray and ominous undertone.

The skies were pitch black with no light, however since Momonga was an undead, darkness was not a problem for him, making the world as clear as day in his eyes.

"Does each channel lead to a world like this? If so, there would be over a thousand from what I saw. Why are they in ruins or is it just this one? Could the Shinigamis be behind this? However, what about the corpses of the animals? Shinigamis can't kill anything that isn't human or was this a rule that was made to prevent such an event."

Momonga left the channel and went into another one, only to be obstructed by some kind of barrier. Behind the barrier, Momonga could vaguely see a world just like the Human World, however when he tried to teleport to it, his spell failed.

Pondering for a second, Momonga tried to enter the other channels and was blocked by a barrier. Behind each barrier Momonga could see worlds of life.

Returning to the world that didn't obstruct him, Momonga collected the skeletons of any creatures he came across into his inventory, before using a Super Tier spell, to create a mountain.

The mountain is very large, towering into the stratosphere. The peak of the mountain is flat enough to accommodate a residence. At the base of the peak, there were twenty groves that seem to have been built for an object.

Teleporting to the mountain peak, Momonga looks down at the barren wasteland, before casting , creating four large valleys into the ground.

Momonga then pulls out twenty Infinite Water Pitchers, which as its name suggests, produce an infinite amount of water. He placed them into the groves at the base of the peak, causing a stream of water to stream down the mountain creating a steady flow of water, turning the valleys into lakes.

Looking at the beautiful scene he created, Momonga looked up at the dark skies and pondered deeply. He was not powerful enough to challenge the might or even create a sun, but without a sun this world will always be in darkness. Unlike Earth, this will be his world and his alone, everything exists because of him, thus he didn't mine using his full effort to see a world he envision come to life.

Reaching into his inventory, Momonga pulled out an object that one of his guildmates had made to imitate a World Class item, the Pillar of the Saint, but ultimately failed in accomplishing.

The pillar is named after the Chinese deity, Sun Wokong who wields a staff that is said to lengthens as much as the wielder wanted. No matter where one hid, his staff could reach them.

The Pillar of the Saint is one of the twenties, it is an area destroying World Class items, but on a more devastating level than Ginnungagap. Once one uses the Pillar of the Saint, one could destroy any of the nine worlds one wanted, however as a consequence, one's own existence will be removed and completely deleted from the game. In its dormant state the Pillar can be wielded like a Staff weighing over fifteen thousand pounds and lengthened.

No one had used this world class item since the consequences were too large and the fact that the Devs had not released the item since the amount of work they would have to do afterwards, but that didn't make some people give up in wanting to possess such power.

Warrior Takemikazuchi was one such player, he wanted this item to defeat Touch Me, even though he was more of a blade user than a staff user.

However, what he created was nowhere near the power of the Pillar of the Saint, thus making him lose once more.

The item he created was the Pillar of Dimensional Locking. The Pillar of Dimensional Locking was able to lengthen like the original, however that was where the similarities ended.

The Pillar of Dimensional Locking traps an enemy in suspended animation, however since almost all players had time resistance, it was ineffective. If one didn't have time resistance, one would be stuck in a frozen state, unless they decided to restart. The area of effect for this item is around a hundred meters.

Placing the pillar on top of the mountain, it grew and tower over everything.

Casting a with an immense amount of mana towards the pillar, the massive froze into place, emanating heat to everything beneath the mountain peak and the soon to be lakes.

Accomplishing that, Momonga moved onto the last thing, bringing life to this world.

Reaching into his inventory, he pulls out an item that he would never usually use because of how rare and important it is. If one had ten of these items, one could create an artificial World Class item, but since he was not in Yggdrasil anymore, he didn't see any need to keep it, especially since he only had five of the required ten.

The item in question is called the Seed of the World Forest, which had the background of being a part of the World Tree. These items are nowhere near the strength and influence of the World Tree, but that was relative.

In Yggdrasil, the Seed of World Forest was but an item for collectors who wanted to role play or for people who wanted to create a custom World Class item and nothing more.

However, in this world, this item was an item to revive a world like this one.

The Seed of the World Forest upon being planted will sprout and create a forest that will eventually cover the entire world. The forest will also create Fairies and in special situations, Elves to protect itself.

Any creatures not born from the World Forest will be suppressed, and when they die will become fertilizer to increase the size and speed of spreading. However once a creature is born inside the World Forest, no matter if they are Fairies or humans, they will be looked after, their strength will increase while aiding the Forest but once one hurts the Forest, they will be punished.

Tossing the seed of the World Tree at the edge of one of the lakes, Momonga watched as it soon sprouted and spread with a fast pace before stopping as it covered a very large distance around the lake.

A few small light bulbs seem to be born and flying around the Forest with glee. Some of the Fairies flew around the forest, before flying towards Momonga.

"Lord Momonga, Lord Dojin thanks you for granting him life." A blond busty fairy bow, while speaking reverently to Momonga.

'Who the hell is Dojin? I know that he was the God of Earth, Soil and Land but why would an item I use become a Japanese god or think he is a Japanese god?'

Momonga as a Japanese person knows about the gods of his country, maybe not all of them but enough to have a conversation of myths with friends.

Most of the guildmates had based their character or items on Japanese gods.

"What's your name? Also, who is Dojin?" Momonga hesitates before ultimately asking this question. Even if he thinks he knows who Dojin is, without confirmation it will always remain an assumption.

"Lord Momonga, I'm Fairy Queen Titania, I'm in charge of all of Lord Dojin creations and Guardian of the Forest." The blond fairy spoke with a voice of pride and honor.

'So Dojin is indeed this Forest of mine? But why assume a Japanese god name? Could it be because of my background as a Japanese person? Still none of my power or items have shown such changes until now.'

"Titania, tell me, who do you serve, me or Dojin?" According to her response I could determine many things.

"Of course you Lord Momonga, you are the creator of this world after all." Titania didn't even hesitate.

Momonga nodded, it was not a bad thing to have this misconception since he was thinking of creating Heaven and Hell anyway.

The thing Momonga was not sure about was whether Dojin was an actual god or not. To many, Dojin might be a god but to him, Dojin was something he only needed a finger to crush.

"Titania, I have a job for you and the other Fairies. I want you and the Fairies to control this mountain and protect this world. Anyone or anything that pushes this world to its destruction must be destroyed."

Titania nodded and was excited. She was speaking with the exalted Lord Momonga, the one who created the world. Even Lord Dojin, who is the god of the earth, was but a creation of Lord Momonga. If she could please him, she would do anything!

Emptying his inventory of the corpses, Momonga revived all the creatures, making the world seem vividly.

Many of the revived creatures would perhaps shock the people of the world since they were supposedly extinct.

"Now, my little paradise just needs time to thrive. I might need to create another sun to spread warmth to the rest of the world instead of just a mountain." Momonga looked at his creations with pride, observing what he could improve before teleporting back to Earth.

Checking the time, Momonga realized that time works differently for Paradise and Earth. In Paradise, only a few hours have passed at most but on Earth, almost a month has passed.

Flying through the Tokyo City, Momonga learned that a serial killer known as Kira has been killing criminals making everyone who has done bad deeds to dread the unforgiving eyes of Kira. The innocent were not scared however and were looking forward to all criminals dying thus routing for Kira.

Momonga knew this was the effect of Light and Ryuk as he didn't believe another Shinigami would have dropped their book. Plus, who beside Light would be so open and desire attention?

Although he only interacted with Light for a moment, Momonga knew he was very intelligent.

Thinking of Ryuk and Light, Momonga teleports to Lights' house but stops as he sees a person observing Light's bedroom.

Curious, Momonga appeared next to the person and observed him.

For some reason Momonga thought this person would be an interesting person to work with. Light has the Death Note, so what if someone possesses a Life Book? Wouldn't that be interesting?

Using Momonga created a white book with the name 'Life Book'. Momonga thought about it before writing some rules for the book.

1: To heal someone, the user must write the individual's name inside the book and have an image of the person in mind.

2: To revive someone, the user must kill someone else an hour after said person has come to life to replace their place in death.

3: If the user is killed, the user can revive but will be forced into hell for breaking the rules of life and death upon dying a second time.

4: Users must never use their true name when using the Life Book, otherwise 'Death' will claim you.

These were the only rules he could think of but he found it to be an interesting prospect to counter the Death Note power.

Since he was still invisible, the appearance of the book was not seen by the individual.

The book was white with a cross of feathers on its cover. At the spine of the book, there was a elebroate pen, whose ink will never run out. Speaking of running out, the book, because it was a magic item, will never run out of pages. Once a page is ripped from the book, it will disappear.

Dropping the book on the head of the person, Momonga observing him.

The person was startled and hid himself behind a wall, becoming as quiet as a mouse. Making sure no one was around, the person peered out from the corner and observed for a bit longer before looking at the book which fell.

Picking up the book, he saw the rules and scoffed a little but seeing how nice the book was and its design, he thought he would give it to his wife. Women love beautiful things after all.

"Human, are you interested in the Life Book?" An angelic voice spoke, alerting the individual.

Turning around, he saw no one but when he looked up, he saw an Angel with two large pairs of white wings and a golden halo above its head, looking at him with amusement.

"Humans don't be afraid, I'm Yael, the Angel of Life. I'm the holder of that book in your possession."

"An angel?! Impossible." The human was shocked and worried. If an Angel existed, doesn't that mean God existed as well?

"Why can't Angels exist? You humans exist, don't you?" Yael looks at the human with both confusion and questioning gaze.

"If you exist, does God exist as well? Why has He allowed Kira to kill so wantonly?" The man asked with anger.

"Of course God exists, why do you think you humans became the ruler of the world when others could take your place? Why were humans able to advance to this stage in only 100,000 years?" Yael looked at humans and continued, "And you are wrong, why would God care if humans died? It matters not if they live or died, they would still be in his embrace. The living cling to life, not knowing death is just as important. However God has created a means for you humans, the Book of Life. With this you can cheat death."

"So God doesn't care?" The human signed with pity.

"Why do you humans think God revolves around you? God gave you everything you might need, and instead of telling you what to do like the old times, gave you free will. Why hate that? Human importance to God is like how an ant is to humans. Occasionally you will grace them with rice but the next day you step on them. God is the same, but that doesn't mean God is ruthless, He just exists from a different plane of existence. Once you are dead, you are not dead in His eyes. Life and death are but a state of being."

Observing the Angel from above, Momonga knew she was talking about him without thinking too much. But she made a lot of sense. Even he was almost convinced he was God!
