Lord Momonga!

Using a precious item to summon a level 80 Seraphim is not a bad decision. Even in Yggdrasil, a level 80 NPC was valuable and usually placed in an important position.

However, while she is valuable, I should refrain from using my items. There is a limit to my supply.

Like many in Nazarick, Momonga is a hoarder that has enough items and spells to change the fate of a nation or even the world.

But as a stingy person, Momonga is reluctant to do so. Why should he waste his hard earned items? What benefits does he get?

Until he is certain he can obtain more resources it would be borderline insane to splurge items.

The summoning of Yael was a test to see how items operate and to see if there were any changes.

However, if he was being honest, it made more sense to summon support type NPCs, such as Craftsmen, Priest or Botanist than Yael. Because as long as they have resources, he as their summoner would gain immense wealth.

However, Yael had been precious in her own way. Her information gathering skills have surpassed his. If he gave her free reign, Momonga had the nagging feeling he would become omniscient.

She is far more intelligent and capable than he is, and he could see it but even an intelligent person cannot see the dumbness which is him.

While new to this world, Momonga knew that data crystals and divine metals were likely nonexistent. If they existed, knowing the nature of humankind, they would have monopolized it and use it for nefarious means.

He also did not know if there is a requirement for these objects to appear. Yggdrasil is a game so it does not make sense to expect reality to operate the same way.

It's doubtful if humankind can even process objects of such caliber. Even the divine craftsmen in the Guild had problems processing divine crystals, let alone this world's humans.

Momonga has been observing Yael via the Mirror of Remote Viewing and came to the conclusion that he could not grasp her thought process!

As a Player that primarily roleplayed as an evil Overlord, he would not say he knew everything but it would not be a lie to say he knows a lot . As a summoner, he knew a summoned creature cannot go against the summoner's will, yet Yael broke that rule.

Maybe it's because this world is not Yggdrasil, a game world, but instead a real world with rules. This made sense, but Yggdrasil's rules still persist, one example being the level cap.

If he could break the level cap, Momonga would transcend to become a god, the god of death!

In Yggdrasil when one ascends or descends to the Overlord race, they would learn about the patron Goddess of Death, Hel.

According to the lore, the Goddess of Death, Hel was born as a level 100 Overlord but unlike other gods she did not have a domain which made her an outcast.

One day when crying, Hel chance upon a dead creature, and witnessed the brilliance of death.

In that moment, Hel felt her mind and thoughts about being loved to be so insignificant. The beauty of death seems to open a door to a new world.

Isn't everything equal before the equalizer of Life?

A thought sprouted in her mind, since her family does not accept her in the world of the living, what about the world of the dead?

Acting upon her thought, Hel did not realize she had unknowingly become the goddess of death, leaving millions of bodies scattered across the globe.

The gods were frightened and came together to stop her, sealing her in Helheim. However, even though sealed, her resentments were left behind, which gave birth to the undead.

As for the Yael usualness? Momonga was not worried or scared but instead pleased.

Seeing Yael's concern for him, made his nonexistent heart beat with happiness. Yael's concern seems to overlap with that of his mother.

He remembered when he was little, and had barely anything to their names, she still place his needs above her own.

She sacrificed her life for him, yet in the end he did not amount to anything. How pathetic is that? Maybe the only thing he accomplished was escaping from reality, living a lie with his friends but he knew he was alone. There will never be someone as precious as her, no one.

As for his father? Momonga was not sure nor did he care. He did not have a grudge against his mother or father, he had no right to. He was given life, he lived and then he will died. The same as everyone else. Whether he died then or now, he did not see the difference. But now?

Hahah!

Momonga could not help but laugh. He had become Death, he became a being that takes from others just as they have taken from him. He became the punisher, a captive who escaped but still trapped.

Closing his eyes, Momonga destroyed the dangerous thoughts he had and pondered silently.

Touch Me, Ulbert Alain Odle, Hero-Hero, Peroroncino…

On occasion, Momonga thought about his friends and became sad. If they were here, how fun would it be? With the wisdom of his companions, Momonga knew he would already achieve whatever he wanted to. Sadly they already left the game before this change could take place.

Though Bellriver, I believe I can do something for you. It is so unfortunate that you have to die so tragically. I guess it is a blessing. I cannot bring the IRL you here but I should be able to bring the IG you. You did not log out of Yggdrasil till the very end, so you should technically still exist. If I use I should be able to bring you back, as I remember you.

Momonga did not immediately resurrect Bellriver, because he was scared. If he is wrong he would have gotten excited for no reason. Which would make the pain of parting even more pronounced.

The other reason he did not resurrect Bellriver is because he wanted to make Paradise a place Bellriver could find peace.

Though considering Bellriver's realistic view of things, he would not appreciate the gesture, and complain that he did not resurrect him immediately.

A smile flashed across Momonga's mind as he thought about it, before his body got stiff, cold and emotionless.

Emotional Suppression god damn it! I can't even reminisce in peace! Why did the Devs not make this a active skill but a passive?!

While mentally angry, outwardly he was calm and unreadable. It is not like he has a choice.

A curse or blessing of being an undead, who knows.

Momonga pulled out his most powerful item, the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown!

The Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown is equal to any World Class Item, and in some special occasions can surpass them. However the flaw in its design is glaring, if it is destroyed, the Guild would also be destroyed.

It is up to debate if Nazarick exists or not. Momonga, while hopeful to see his home, did not place all his hope on it.

It was already a stretch to accept that he became his Avatar, but a tomb full of eldritch madness? Even he would be doubtful.

If Nazarick exists, it would be perfect, as he would have a better sense of security than in Paradise. With how Yael is acting, if he assumes all NPCs are like that, then his Guardians as level 100 NPCs would be perfect aids.

Examining the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown, Momonga concluded nothing had changed. It is still able to increase his already high stats. However, the concern about possibly destroying the only thing he had remaining of his friends, made him decide to only use it when there is no choice.

Putting away the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown, Momonga took out an item he had been curious about. He has been cautious as to hide it upon accidentally creating it, but now he does not have that concern, he is in his own world, his own 'Paradise'.

Paradise, before he arrived, was a dead world, now it had been revived. He was careful in reinforcing it, since he knew the importance of having a base, especially one that others cannot enter without being noticed.

This is something most Guilds lacked as even in Nazarick, one could enter it without being detected. This is something Nishikienrai has tested. Though that was when everything was a game, Momonga did not know how that would translate to reality.

No matter where one entered from, they would appear at the same location, the mountain's peak.

Knowing this information, Momonga summoned many undead and other creatures, to be the first line against invaders.

He then locked the area with mines and teleportation restrictions.

Momonga is not expecting much from the summoned creatures since their levels are low. However, that was in his eyes. To Earth and even the Shinigami Realm, it was impossible for them to defeat the summoned creatures.

Unless someone surpasses Momonga and knew of these restrictions, they would not be able to walk away without leaving something behind.

Though known as someone who focused on instant death magic and necromancy, it was still a stretch for Paradise to be impregnable. His spells and items while many were not omnipotent.

Opening the Book of Yggdrasil', Momonga looked at the spells he had put inside, and was surprised.

Counting the spells, Momonga was shocked to realize after adding spells from other spell books, the 'Book of Yggdrasil' had over 2,000 thousand spells! If he could use all of them, let alone Touch Me, even a Raid Boss would not be difficult to kill.

Momonga did not think the name 'Book of Yggdrasil' was fitting and decided to change it. Pondering, Momonga said, "You will be call, 'Yggdrasil's Akashic Records'."

The surface of the book seem to rippled like the surface of water, possessing the name Yggdrasil's Akashic Records.

Looking at the many spells, but with no description, Momonga sighed in anguish. The amount of research he must do to figure out their function is staggering. Fortunately time is meaningless to him, so he had no problem figuring out his new found power.

Tabula Smaragdina would have loved this. "Sigh." Do the spells vanish after use? Is this a one time World Class Item? Let's see what I should use. Hmm, this spell sounds interesting!

Pointing at the dead a lifeless portion of Paradise, Momonga activated: !

The grimoire floated out of Momonga's hand and a magic circle appeared at the area he pointed at. The skies seem to crack, as dark black water flows down, crashing into the earth!

BOOM!

Dust, corpses and the earth turned over, before being submerged.

Areas where the water passes became fertile and plants began to grow. These plants were not under Dijon"s control, but created by . They are a species more suitable for this world.

So changes the state of something to adapt and survive in otherwise hopeless situations? Can this apply to me? Can I surpass level 100? I should probably use it on someone before doing that, just in case.

As an Overlord, Momonga had the opportunity to reach the level of Hel, but that is only if actually works on him.

Looking at the situation, he knew it was impossible. If this spell could work, Yggdrasil would have had many Players above the cap but that was not the case.

As Momonga was thinking, he noticed that the grimoire returned and underneath the spells he just cast, a description appeared. The description was exactly like what he said earlier, making him smile.

So it is not a one time World Class Item? I should have chosen a better spell just in case it disappeared. , went into cool down but I can use the other spells with ease. But upon using them, they would go into a cool down state.

Flipping through the Grimoire, Momonga pauses on a spell he found could solve this situation.

!

The sound of a clock echoed, and everything stopped. It was unknown if the universe stopped or just Paradise, but the world became pale gray.

Maybe because of his Time Resistance, but Momonga in this gray world was able to move about, completely unaffected, however his mana would drain at least two times faster as a result.

Although was unknown, he decided to do as its name suggested and try to turn back time, and surprisingly, he succeeded!

However, for every second that time went back, his mana dropped, until it went into the negatives.

It did not seem to be useless, as everything that was destroyed and affected by the black water vanished. It was like someone touched a rewind button, which in this case, someone did.

Looking at what he did, Momonga's scalp felt numb. He no longer felt surprised, happy or shocked, he was merely numb to everything.

Time, the greatest of foes to mortal beings and one of the most difficult laws of creation to manipulate, yet he did it. He controlled it, actually and truly controlled it, even if briefly.

There were other spells such as and , which just by their namesbroke the balance of Yggdrasil.

Going back in time or even affecting it the way he did would have cost the game a fortune. That is because he would have been affecting the game's algorithm and changing the rules that bound Yggdrasil. He did not understand how such spells found its way into the game, yet he was thankful. Because now it was his.

Though there is a class called 'Chronomancer', there were only minor spells like , , and a few exceptional ones like , or .

And other than reaching the peak of the Chronomancer class and getting the ultimate skill, , there was not much to gain nor is there anything that would make Players drool.

Just getting Time Resistance, lowers the threat level of this class.

Making sure his spell was still on the book, he put it inside his inventory and retrieved the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown to regenerate his mana.

Returning to his palace that was built on the peak of the mountain by the Fairies and Elves Momonga rested on his throne and thought of his future plans.

Currently after testing his power, he was confident about meeting the Shinigami King. Even if he cannot win, he can retreat safely.

Momonga was not being arrogant, he was being logical and tactical.

From what he has seen, he can conclude that even if the Shinigami King was hundreds of times more powerful than a Shinigami, he would not be a match for him.

With the addition of the Akashic Records, his power has long surpassed the limits of Yggdrasil.

In fact, if Momonga had to be honest, the Akashic Records was no longer a mere World Class Item, for it long surpassed that class.

If he could add Super Tier spells, not only will his assumptions be true, it would be a frightening reality as it would surpass Yggdrasil's World Items. And so Momonga has to reach a conclusion on what to do with the Shinigami Realm, as it was far too dangerous to let it be undisturbed.

Momonga was no longer human nor was he a Shinigami to begin with, he is a Player which means if his identity were to ever be revealed, logic dictates that he would most likely become an enemy of the Shinigami Realm.

As a former human being, Momonga could barely trust his fellow humans, as they only caused him grief and suffering with the exception of his friends and his mother, so he had less of a reason to care about humanity aside from the slightest prick to consciousness.

To that end, the winner must be him, the Guildmaster of Ainz Ooal Gown!

Thinking a bit, Momonga did not think it was hard to conquer the Shinigami Realm.

The Shinigamis have no sense or purpose and just exist because of fear of death. If he could introduce all these beings into Paradise and give them purpose, the Shinigami Realm will become hollow and he can then focus on creating Hell.

Hell is the second realm he planned on creating. However, since he couldn't enter the sealed worlds, he had long set his eyes on the Shinigami Realm, with the exception of the Shinigami King, who's true power is still unknown to him

It was already broken and in ruins, so why not throw some fire and demons in and give it a purpose?

As for the sealed worlds, Momonga figured a way to enter them. It was actually Dojin that figured it out, which made Momonga reevaluate him.

He originally thought Dojin is a copy of the actual god of earth but he has been acting in a manner that seems divine.

Dojin is able to sense his followers over far distance, granting them boons related to the earth and vegetation. He is also able to manipulate the souls of his followers to create stronger Fairies and elves.

Towards Dojin, Momonga was not sure what to make of him. No matter how powerful Dojin becomes, he never stepped out of line and has always been subservient to him. Though even if he wasn't, always been subservient

Towards a being whom he knows everything about, Momonga did not think he could lose. It does not matter if that god was a hundred times stronger than him, it was impossible for him to lose to those possessing knowledge over their opponents.

Ainz Ooal Gown does not know defeat! This was a truth that will hold weight even in this new world and will never change!
