Aurora of Paradise

Flying through the branches of the trees, feeling the cool refreshing sensation on her skin and the divine warmth of the Sun, Aurora gave a silent prayer to God.

This is tradition passed down in the Fairy Clan. One must give thanks to Lord Momonga for granting them life.

According to the legends, Paradise was once a ruined world without celestial bodies such as: stars, moons, or a sun. However, one day Lord Momonga, saddened by the world's fate, descended and created the realm known as Paradise.

Paradise is a deserted realm with a sole oasis surrounded by a forest. A tall mountain that reached the heavens with a beautiful palace resting on its peak.

Surrounding the oasis is a forest that encloses the mountain. Dijon, the God of Earth and the father of Fairies and Elves inhabit the forest.

Many myths and legends have been circulating before and after she was born.

Even some minor Fairies and Elves have been pushed to divine status, after their stories have been retold.

Clearing her thoughts, Aurora flew into the skies like a lightning bolt before spreading her two crystal-like wings open, hovering above the forest.

Aurora is about the same size as a human newborn but looks like a developing teenager. She has pea-green hair and eyes that gleam like a starry night.

She dresses in green camouflage clothing, has a small backpack on her back and a bronze dagger at her hip.

Having a bird's eye view of the surroundings, Aurora saw a few Fairies and Elves moving through the branches, giggling and playing.

The branches seem to rustle with fallen leaves as figures move with ease through its foliage.

The Fairies and Elves are codependent upon each other. Fairies, as spirits of the forest, are closely related to Dijon and are his primary caretakers. They maintain the trees, heal the animals and help keep the natural world in balance.

The Elves are the warriors that protect the natural order of nature within the Forest. They occasionally plant beneficial plants and ward off threats to certain animals.

Just like there are different races of humans, so were Fairies and Elves different. Fairies of Light, Darkness, Fire, Water, Ice, Lightning, and more exist. There are Night Elves, Forest Elves, Moon Elves, and more.

Unlike other Fairies, Aurora is one without a title.

When a fairy is born, the Fairy Queen will bestow a name and title upon them, but Aurora is an exception as all she got is a name.

She can use all manner of magic, but as a result, she does not have a particular title.

The Fairy Queen could use all forms of magic as well, making everyone ponder if Aurora would become the next Fairy Queen. However, considering Fairies are immortal, that was unlikely.

The Fairy Queen has no reason to abdicate her throne, nor does Aurora want it.

Looking at the desert that seemed omnipresent, Aurora felt her heart grow, and her curiosity blossomed. She wanted to go into the desert to learn more about the hidden parts of her world.

Why was the world destroyed? Would it happen again?

Such thoughts plagued her mind everyday. She did not doubt Lord Momonga's strength but could not place everything on Him.

Faith without action, is a psychopath with a dream.

Aurora thought about the Black Desert for many years, but as she didn't want to be grounded, she held back, but her curiosity could not be contained.

The more she held back, the more eager she got.

No one had explored Paradise in its entirety because no one had thought to. Even the revered Fairy Queen did not know much of the world she governed.

Mother had never left the Holy Mountain, and instead focused on serving the Supreme One. That is an honor above all else, but not knowing about your surroundings is inconvenient.

With no pioneers willing to venture out, the idea that nothing exists beyond the forest only grew, but that is just ignorance.

Not only does Aurora want to learn more about Paradise, but she also wants to see the Human World for herself.

Growing up in Paradise, Aurora learned bits and pieces about the Human World and the creatures' called humans.

Lady Yael - the life that is - occasionally speaks about the human race and their fickleness.

If Lady Yael's cynical and pitiful gaze as she spoke about humans is anything to go on, humans are flawed beings.

Lady Yael is the role model of all inhabitants and one of the core figures of Paradise. Not only is Lady Yael beautiful, but she is also the most powerful and intelligent being apart from Lord Momonga.

Aurora knows she is a naive fairy. She is slower to things that regular Fairies are easily able to remember. She is not receptive to authority like others and prone to forget things.

If it was not for the fact Lord Dijon formatted the rules, she would have left already, but could she really disobey her Father?

She had never seen her Father angry, but she felt scared.

The unknown seems to heighten one's fear.

However, her urge to explore and learn is something she cannot control for too long!

Of the rules created by Lord Dijon, one of the most important rules is: DO NOT LEAVE THE FOREST.

Once a creature leaves the Forest, they will not receive the blessing of Lord Dijon. Unless they receive the ritualistic information, it isn't possible to get a blessing while outside.

The Forest grows by a couple of meters every day, so it's only a matter of time before Paradise comes under Lord Dijon's total control and all secrets are unearthed.

Phew!

Counting the time, Aurora realizes she has been flying for a few hours, and the warmth of the Sun is slowly disappearing, causing everything to get colder and colder until only ice-chilling coldness can be felt.

Lord Momonga had created a Sun above the Holy Mountain, but not for the rest of the world. Without the presence of warmth, nothing could possibly live.

She had discovered the reason why the desert was uninhabited. However, thinking about some of the powerful beings inside the forest, Aurora was not too sure about her assumption.

There were Ice Fairies and ice beasts who would thrive in these conditions, yet she did not see any of these creatures here.

Bringing out a notebook, she began writing her findings in a detailed journal.

If an explorer does not record their findings, then they were never there.

Aurora is the one creating the code of explorers, as all other Fairies have their own roles and titles that they abide by. It's hard to say if those Fairies were blessed or cursed.

Aurora at least has the option of deciding who she wants to be, even though she lacks a fundamental part of what makes a fairy a fairy - a title.

Looking up at the skies, the darkness seemed to look back at her. The void seems to be consuming everything without the presence of stars or moons to brighten the night skies.

In such a situation, without magic, it would be hard to see one's hand, let alone return home.

Thankfully, Aurora had thought a situation like this could happen and brought a compass. Though she could use Guide to find her way back, she did not want to waste her mana, as she did not know what she would find out there.

Guide is a spell her mother is famous for. The spell will try to find the safest path to a location of the caster's choice.

What if she got in a situation that required her to have more mana and she was a bit short? She would die unjustly!

As an explorer, Aurora knew the value of preparations. No matter what occupation one is in, preparation and resources are the most significant factor to success.

Looking at the compass, Aurora determined that the forest was south of her and wrote down the degrees.

She could simply use the back azimuth and terrain association to find her way home if she got lost.

She had learned this skill from watching how birds and other animals, no matter how far they were, seemed to know the direction of their home.

Alternating between flying and resting, a couple of days passed. Aurora realized the further she went during her flight, the colder the temperature became.

However, the odd thing was that there was no frost, ice, or snow to showcase this fact.

During the day, it would be hot, but during the night, it would be freezing cold. However, that was only when she was within a day's distance of the forest.

Aurora could feel her heart and soul on the verge of freezing over at five days' distance.

The act of moving and thinking became harder and harder to accomplish.

~Pant~ Pant~

Panting as drops of sweat rolled down her face, falling and freezing before hitting the golden sands.

Aurora knew she was in a bind and could not relax. She had to find a location to recover and plan her next steps.

Looking around, Aurora couldn't find the ideal spot and decided to set up camp where she was.

All around are mounds of sand that seem to extend forever. There were no trees, caves, or mountains in which she could take cover.

Setting up her small green tent, Aurora started to look at the map on the ground.

Aurora marked the locations she had visited and wrote a brief overview of said locations.

"Exploring further is pointless. There is nothing but desert sand out here." Rolling up the map, Aurora stuffs it inside her Infinite Backpack.

This is a backpack that she got from an elven blacksmith. Unlike the real Infinite Backpack - owned by the top brass - its internal capacity of 5x5 meters is not large but is something explorers should strive to possess.

"Even if Father's power reaches here, it would still be hard for certain people to live. Lord Momonga must create a bigger sun or create more to warm the lands."

Aurora, with common sense, could see if things continue as they are, the population will reach a certain limit, and the forest would be unable to endure it, meaning they would have to leave for the Black Desert.

However, how many people would survive such a change? Aurora is among the mid-tier of Fairies, and she has difficulties enduring the distance of five days. What about low-tier fairies?

How far could they go?

Sitting down and using magic to light a fire, Aurora grabbed some fruit from her bag and ate it.

Faires and Elves did not mind eating meat but did not like killing, so they mainly ate vegetables and fruits.

"Lord Momonga has not been seen recently and everyone is worried. I remembered when Paradise was turned inside out looking for the Lord."

Aurora did not mind everyone relying on Lord Momonga, but she did think they relied too much on Him.

There will eventually be a day when Lord Momonga will not return or, worse, falls. What would they do then? Would Paradise collapse?

As for if Lord Momonga could fall, Aurora isn't sure about that. Though she considers her thinking a bit extreme, it can't be helped when one considers everyone's dependence on Lord Momonga. Those at her Father - Lord Dijon - and above were removed from normal beings. What more of Lord Momonga, who reigns above all?

She had seen signs of tension between her father - Lord Dijon - and Lord Momonga on occasion, and she knew the reason.

Lord Dijon cannot discern Lord Momonga's thoughts and cannot determine the vision of the Lord.

Lord Momonga, even with many subordinates, does not rely on them - despite their efforts - which indirectly causes a rift between master and servant.

As Aurora sat there thinking, a look of confusion appeared in her starry purple eyes.

"I should be the only fairy to have left the forest, so why are there fluctuations of magic here?" Deciding her course of action, Aurora decided to go and see. It would suck to return with nothing to prove of her adventure.

Dosing the fire, Aurora flew towards the source of magic and stopped dead in her tracks. Before her stood a giant rift in the skies, like a bottomless purple and black hole with infinite depth.

"This should be Gate, a spell only Lord Momonga can use. But why is it here? Could Lord Momonga be hinting at something?"

Though she thinks she is unique, Aurora did not think she was important enough for the Supreme One to watch her.

What reason could He have?

"Should I enter? If I do, can I return? If I return to the forest now, I will regret and think about what is beyond the Gate for the rest of my life."

Her mind seemed to calculate, fluctuating between worry and excitement. Firmness entered her eyes as she stepped into the Gate.

There is no reason for her grandfather to harm her. He should have sensed her passion and decided to help.

The world seemed to spin, and she found herself atop a strange-looking city.

Looking at the massive Sun in the skies, Aurora looked shocked and wondered where she was.

Wow!

She could see that the entire world was being warmed by the heat of the Sun. The vast arrays of clouds blanket the skies. The vibrancy of life - Aurora was awed by the view.

This is far different than Paradise.

Looking down, Aurora saw towering monoliths of steel and concrete, which lacked the natural beauty and magic found in the forests and meadows where fairies dwell.

The streets were packed with noisy metal beasts that disturbed the peace and harmony of nature.

In the skies, Aurora saw wondrous beasts that flew through the air with thunderous roars. Their speed and agility were startling compared to their massive bodies.

The more she observed, the more disturbance and abundance of nature that could be seen. It is a miracle that nature has not retaliated against the creatures below.

She knew if her Father was here, he would be filled with uncontrollable rage! Her Father is the God of Earth and Soil of Paradise, akin to Mother Nature of the Human World.

Since she did not know what world, she was in, Aurora decided to remain hidden by wearing a necklace - given to her by her mother - with Invisibility engraved on it.

It would not last long if she had to maintain the spell with her own mana. Her mana is not the largest of her kind, but it's not too bad.

Appearing in front of one of the creatures, Aurora floated crossed-legged, observed the creature, and concluded it should be a human.

Humans - similar in form to an elf but without long ears, archery, or magical skills. Said Fairy Queen Titania.

Following a human around, Aurora realized that the humans spoke a strange language with a weird accent that she could somehow understand.

Although they lack magic, their ingenuity causes them to create items. Magic is very versatile and can be used in many facets of society, but items only have one function. However, everyone can use it. It's hard to say which is better, magic or items.

As Aurora observed the human - the one she decided to follow - she realized that the human got worried after picking up a strange device.

A voice came from the device, making Aurora look with interest.

"Hello, Miss Ohashi. This is Doctor Johnson from the hospital. I'm calling about your mother."

From the context of the situation, a story seems to form in Aurora's mind.

Poor thing…Mother. The image of a woman appeared in Aurora's mind.

The woman - Ohashi's hands trembled and spoke with fear, "Yes… go ahead."

Doctor Johnson pauses for a brief moment, "I'm sorry to inform you that your mother's condition has worsened. She's now in critical condition."

What causes this condition? This human's mother had obviously been obtaining treatment but had only gotten worse. Is it because humans are limited by their items? If so, could magic solve this situation? Sadly, I am not capable of healing magic.

Ohashi's shoulder slumped, and sighed with grief, "Okay, what can we do to help her? What are the treatment options?"

Aurora could understand Ohashi's pain. She would not know what to do if her mother was in a similar situation. One can only understand by experiencing the situation themselves. Of course, their options and standings are different, so she had a better chance of handling the situation.

A trace of tiredness seeped through the phone as Doctor John gently continued, "We're doing everything we can, but to be honest, the situation is complicated. We need to monitor her closely and perform more tests to determine the best course of action."

Frowning, Ohashi let her frustration out, "That's not enough! I need to know what can be done to save her life."

"I understand that you're worried, but please trust us. We're doing everything we can. In the meantime, try to stay positive and hope for the best."

Ohashi felt her face become wet and her vision cloudy, "I know, it's just hard. And then there's this Kira guy killing people left and right. It's all so scary and depressing."

"Yes, it's certainly a difficult time for everyone. But please remember to take care of yourself, too. Your mother will need you to be strong and healthy for her."

"Thank you, Doctor Johnson. I appreciate everything you're doing for my mother."

"Of course. We'll keep you updated on her condition. And please let us know if you need anything."

"Alright, I will. Thank you again."

Hanging up, Ohashi sat down feeling, overwhelmed and saddened. She couldn't shake off the feeling of hopelessness that had been plaguing her since her mother's accident. To add to her distress, the news about Kira's killings seemed to worsen daily. She couldn't believe that someone could have so much power and control over others.

The only good thing would perhaps be that Kira seemed to have found his match. Unlike Kira's ability to kill, an entity recently revived the dead at an almost similar speed. This has caused even more mayhem, as opposed to justice.

The religious sects have determined this to be the beginning of the end. The Angels have blown the trumpets, the seals have been opened, and the Four Horsemen will ride until Jesus, the Holy Lamb, walk the Earth once more.

As she sat there, lost in her thoughts, Ohashi wondered how her mother was doing. She wished she could be there with her, holding her hand and telling her everything was going to be okay. But with Kira on the loose, she didn't feel safe leaving her house.

Even living in the United States of America, the supposedly safest country in the world, she did not feel safe.

Suddenly, Ohashi heard a knock at the door and hesitated about what to do. She did not know who it could be. She wondered if she should grab her firearm but hesitated.

Not minding Ohashi's concern, the knocking persisted, forcing her to gather the courage to open the door.

To her surprise, it was her neighbor from across the street. The neighbor, a kind older woman, had brought over some freshly baked cookies.

Ohashi is very familiar with this neighbor. To be more accurate, her mother and the neighbor are close friends, close enough for her - Ohashi - to intimately call her aunt.

Ohashi was touched by the gesture and felt grateful for the kindness of her aunt.

As they sat together in the living room, enjoying the cookies and chatting about life, Ohashi's mood gradually improved. She realized that even in the darkest times, there was still hope and goodness in the world.

After spending some time chatting with her aunt and feeling a little better, Ohashi decided to distract herself by turning on the TV. She hoped to find something that would take her mind off the chaos happening in the world and the uncertainty surrounding her mother's health.

As she flipped through the channels, she came across a news segment about Kira. The reporter discussed the latest developments in the case and how law enforcement struggled to catch the elusive criminal.

Feeling a surge of frustration and anger, Ohashi changed the channel. She was tired of hearing about Kira and how he continued wreaking havoc on the world. She wanted to focus on something positive and uplifting instead.

She eventually settled on a movie, hoping it would provide a much-needed distraction. As she watched the characters on screen go through their own trials and tribulations, she couldn't help but feel a sense of empathy and connection with them.

Despite how hopeless things seemed, Ohashi realized she wasn't alone in her struggles. There were others out there who were going through similar hardships and facing their own set of challenges.

With this realization, Ohashi began to feel a renewed sense of hope and determination. She knew that things wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to face whatever came her way with strength and resilience.

Aurora looked at Ohashi with a sense of amazement. She had just witnessed the rapid changes in a human state of mind. The more she saw, the more she did not see how Ohashi was different from her.

She had similar emotions as Fairies and Elves, so she shouldn't be evil, right?

Would Lord Momonga be mad if I forsake a being in need of help? Aurora did not know what her Lord would do at such a time, but she imagined He would help. Though whatever choice her Lord makes would ultimately be the right one.

Aurora does not want to reveal herself because, while naive, she is not stupid.

She has only interacted with or observed humans briefly and found that they were slaves to their emotions. Aurora had no right to speak as she bent to her curiosity.

If a creature unknown to humans was to reveal itself, it's unknown what they would do. If a human could earn a fortune at the expense of her life, Aurora had no reason to suspect they would not do it.

However, It doesn't mean Ohashi is like the rest of humans, she might be different, but there is no reason to risk her life for some uncertainty.

However, if she does not help her, she will not learn about the Human World as she hoped.

Pondering, Aurora decided to approach and contact Ohashi via Message. Even if she exposes the information, most people will think Ohashiis crazy, and it's impossible to link them together.

As Ohashi sat there accepting what was to come, an adorable voice emerged in her mind, causing her to freak out. She did not know if she was going crazy but hearing voices not your own in your head is definitely a sign!

Standing up violently, causing the chair to drop to the ground, Ohashi warily looked around.

[Do not be afraid, human. I am Aurora - the Fairy of Exploration. I wonder, would you like to form a contract with me?]

Who is talking!?

Ohashi looked around cautiously. However, she found no one there.

Taking the courage, Ohahsi spoke in her mind, [Fairy? Do you expect me to believe in fairytales?]

Ohashi knew from her upbringing that there exist demonic beings that feed on innocent people. They tempt people into falling into temptation at the cost of their souls. They stray one way from the Lord.

[I am indeed a fairy. It is understandable why you would be in disbelief. The Human World seems to lack magic and, by extension - Fairies. I was flying by and heard your conversation. I need you to do a couple of things for me. In return, I will give you a Healing Potion. This potion is able to bring anyone back to a perfect state, although it cannot resurrect the dead - it should be perfect for your situation.]

Happiness filled Ohashi's eyes, and the desire to agree sprouted, but she felt something was wrong as suspicion grew in her heart. Her face slowly turning serious.

Is this a test from the Lord? A test of my faith?

Cautiously, Ohashi asks, [What do you need me to do?]

[You do not have to be so wary. I am not an evil being. I serve the Supreme One. I was in Paradise, but I appeared in the Human World because of my curiosity. I want to learn about you humans, the Human World, and this figure name Kira.]

Supreme One, as in God?! Ohashi can't be blamed for coming to such a conclusion. The United States of America could be considered a Christian State. Being called Supreme One, the first being that appeared in her mind would obviously be God.

[You said Supreme One. Do you mean God? And Paradise, as in Heaven?]

If everyone knew God is real, would the world not be better?

[Eh? The Supreme One is indeed God to the beings of Paradise, so I am unsure if we are discussing the same God. As for Paradise and Heaven, I am usure what this Heaven is in your culture.]

Confused, Ohashi answered, [Heaven is the land of purity, where God resides. Angels and His worshipers surround him there. In Heaven, everyone is happy and has eternal life.]

[The Supreme One does indeed reside in heaven- Paradise. He is surrounded by Angels and Fairies. As for eternal life? I suppose many are immortal to a degree.] Fairies and Angels do not have a lifespan and could grow forever. But that is not the case for Elves. They have a limited lifespan though it is in the thousands.

Lowering her guard slightly, Ohashi asks, [Okay, what do you need? It is pretty late right now. Maybe tomorrow?]

Aurora pondered while hidden from view. Since she came to the Human World, obviously, she had to learn about it, [First, I would like to learn about the Human World and Kira.]

[Okay, I will explain everything the best I can. The Human Wor…] Ohashi briefly explains the countries, history, and common knowledge that she remembered.

No matter how smart Ohashi is, and she is not, it is impossible for her to remember everything about Earth's history.

[So, the Human World is run primarily by humans? Makes sense.] Listening to what Ohashi said, Aurora couldn't help but say, [Barbaric...]

Ohashi's face turned red from embarrassment and shame, but she was in agreement. Breathing out deeply, Ohashi spoke, [We humans are. It seems like it is impossible for humans to live peacefully together. Even as we have history to teach us, we still make the same mistakes. The more humans try to come together, the more conflicts grow. It seems the only way to reach peace is to be separate and have no interactions.]

[So, you wish for peace? I think humans can achieve peace by having an outside threat that threatens the human race - not just a group. This will force humans to bond together and forget about their differences. However, once this enemy is gone, humanity will fight amongst itself again.]

Ohashi opened her mouth and closed it. She found such a logic perfect and thought the plan was feasible.

Aurora changes the subject, not trying to embarrass Ohashi further, [What about Kira?]

Sensing Aurora's thoughts, Ohashi also shifted the conversation [Kira is an international serial killer who kills criminals who have committed heinous crimes through mysterious means. He brings "Justice" to those who commit a crime. Recently he has become excessive, killing a thousand people daily as a warning to Law Enforcement's efforts to catch him. In the beginning, Kira was someone everyone worshiped as a god, but as time passed, everyone became frightened….]

With a hint of confusion clouding her mind, Aurora said, [You humans are confusing. You were happy he was killing people, but once your life becomes endangered, you became scared and dehumanized him?] Aurora is starting to see what Lady Yael had said about humans, and it has not been a day since she was here. Shaking her head, [Anyway, it is late. We will continue this conversation tomorrow.]

Ohashi stretched her arms and yawned, [Okay.]

Looking at Ohashi, Aurora cast Sleep on her and grabbed the weird device.

"How did that human talk through this?" Aurora flipped the object but couldn't decipher how to use it.

Without magic, humans can improvise and achieve feats no less than magic. Nuclear weapons, rockets, and science. If we can obtain this information, Paradise could jump into the future but at the cost of corruption.

-Next Morning-

Waking up, Ohashi wondered if yesterday was a dream. She dreamt a fairy talked to her and promised to heal her mother. Sighing, she knew she was too stressed and dreamed of the situation.

[Good morning. I have decided I want to visit the desert of this world.]

[Why? There is nothing there. Well, we could go to Egypt. They have pyramids used to bury their dead.]

[I want to see if there is any difference between the Human World and Paradise. You can plan our trip, and we leave in a few minutes.] Pondering, Aurora pulled out a Healing Potion and gave it to Ohashi.

From Ohashi's perspective, a bottle with green liquid appeared from nowhere and landed in her hand.

[This is a minor Healing Potion that can heal one's current state but cannot remove diseases. If your mother requires a higher tier healing potion, I can ask Lady Yael or Her Majesty the Fairy Queen to cure your mother.]

Shaking her head, Ohashi gleamed at the potion, [No, this is more than enough. This can cure my mother.]

If this potion were to be researched, could we mass-produce it? Would that not lessen the burden on the medical field? That being said, Ohasi did not want to hand the potion over. It's not that she is selfish. She just did not trust the government.

Tilting her head, Aurora asks, [I was under the assumption that she had multiple afflictions. Am I wrong?]

Ohashi became silent and got her stuff ready.

[We can leave, but we have to walk to the airport. I haven't had the chance to drive since…never mind.] Ohashi's face was happy in the beginning, but towards the end became sad and grief-stricken.

Aurora wonders what the problem is, why has Ohashi become so closed off and upset?

Pondering, Aurora drops a necklace on Ohashi's head.

[Walking will take forever. This is a Fly Necklace. Once you wear it, you will gain the ability to fly. Would you rather experience flight or go aboard that metal beast, um, was it a plane?]

Holding the necklace like a treasure, Ohashi was excited, [You are telling me this allows me to fly? Even if that is the case, from the United States to Egypt is a long flight. Hm…. But all humans dreamt of flying, and since I have the opportunity, I want to try.]

Aurora smiles at the excited human, [Just put the necklace on and imagine flying in the air. It will do the rest.]

Ohashi put the necklace on but did not try to fly immediately. She instead ran back home and went through her wardrobe and put on a fluffy brown coat, winter gloves, combat boots, a neck gaiter, and tactical glasses.

Aurora looked at Ohashi with interest seeing her look like a warrior, but she knew that was not the case.

[Can I ask what you are doing?]

[Oh, if we are going to fly to Egypt, I have to wear clothes that will keep me warm. If we fly at high altitudes and fast speeds, I could go into shock because of the temperature, so I am trying to eliminate that. I am also trying to conceal my identity. If someone happens to see me flying, I could be called in for questioning or, worse, experimentation.] Ohashi's body trembles faintly.

She always wanted a partner for her exploration and wondered if she had found the person for the job. Aurora did not think her contractor would be so smart and had foresight. This just earned her brownie points with her.

No, it's way too early to decide. Let's observe more and see.

Climbing to the roof, Ohashi looked down, and her heart dropped. She had always feared heights, but today the fear had lessened. She chopped it up to Aurora's presence.

It was still dark, so not many people would be up to see her, but she could not risk it by standing there.

Closing her eyes, Ohashi jumped off the roof and imagined herself flying. She felt her rapid speed dropping and the air pushing against her, and as she opened her eyes, she saw herself doing what would be deemed impossible. She was flying, she was truly flying!

She flew in circles, giggling all the while, Ohashi felt like a child again, who dreamt of flying and reaching the stars.

Grabbing her phone, she made a route to Egypt on her mobile map and ensured she would fly in the right direction.

Shooting through the skies, Ohashi danced through the clouds and touched them. Unlike the fluffiness she imagined, her hands went straight through them and felt cold and wet.

As she was flying, a figure appeared before her, looking at her with interest.

Ohashi did not appear surprised, "Is this what you look like? I assume you had sharp teeth and long nails."

Aurora was stuck between laughter and tears, "Do you take me for a demon? A fairy is a guardian of nature, while a demon destroys and tricks others into dubious contracts. And even if I was a demon, why did you accept my offer?"

"Apart from Jesus, I don't believe in the existence of other religious deities... And I only agreed because of my mother and because I hoped for a miracle. My family hasn't always been blessed or plagued by misfortune.

"Quit the narrow outlook on life. Sorry to say this, but there are other gods out there. My father - Lord Dijon - is a god. Lady Yael is a god, and the Fairy Queen, my mother, can be considered a god. There is no need to belittle other peoples' gods and uplift yours because I can guarantee you, your God is as real as Lord Momonga."

"So, you are a goddess? Who is Lord Momonga? Is He the Supreme One you spoke of?"

"I am not a goddess. I am a fairy. Lord Momonga is indeed the Supreme One. He is a being that transcends all manner of things. For example, all the beings I talked about earlier are His creations."

"If that is so, why leave Paradise, why leave the gaze of Lord Momonga?"

"I ponder that question many times, but I think it's because the Lord must have wanted me to. My Lord's power is what sent me here."

Aurora and Ohashi began to talk about their different worlds and cultures, harmonizing the atmosphere between the two as they drifted toward Egypt.

—-

Unknown to the two, a commotion was happening below.

"General, Sir! We have detected two unidentifiable objects moving within our air space. We tried to get visuals on the unidentified objects but couldn't see anything. However, from the air currents generated, the objects are moving at approximately 120 miles per hour and are speeding up as we speak. They should leave our airspace soon."

"Send word to the President and ask if any countries have infiltrated us. How didn't we see this until now? Some kind of cloaking?"

"I don't know, Sir."

"God damn it! Send out a team of fighters and gauge the situation."

"Yes, Sir."

"Good, now, try to do what you can to get any visuals until the team sends their report."

"Sir, we have gotten word the objects have left our surveillance range! There is nothing we can do."

Biting his nails, the General did not know what to do in this situation. He couldn't contact other countries to ask for help as that would expose the fact, they could not stop the object. However, those objects were a risk to national security.

"Sir, we have obtained satellite footage of the area. I will pull it up now."

On the projector, two blurry pictures could be seen. Even though the pictures were blurry, it was obvious that the objects were humanoid. Everyone in the room was silent.

"Call back our units and put a gag order on them. This will not leave this room."

"Yes, Sir!"

—-

Continuing their flight, Aurora and Ohashi did not know about the risk they escaped.

Flying for a couple of hours and speeding up, they stood above the golden sands of Egypt.

As they soared above the vast deserts, they marveled at the endless orange sand stretching out below. The heat was intense, but they were protected by Aurora's versatile magic and felt alive and invigorated.

Flying down and touching the soil, Aurora frowned as the soil eh, sand, was different from the Black Desert's sand. She could feel a slight amount of vitality still present but in Paradise it was just death.

"Is there something strange about the sand?" Ohashi asks as she floats above the doubtful fairy.

"There is nothing strange about it. It's different from what I expected. On our journey here, I could tell it was hot and got cold at night, but it was still not to the level of being unable to live. The only difference between this desert and my own, is the Sun." Aurora looked up as she spoke.

She had already come to this conclusion, but for it to slap her in the face again, she could no longer deny it. The Sun of Paradise is not real. No wonder Paradise was not under her Father's control.

She had seen how far the sun of the Human World is. No matter how far she flew, Aurora could feel the warmth of the sun but not in Paradise.

"Is Paradise going through a situation that needs the desert to be livable?"

"Not quite. I have explained to you before, my Father, Lord Dijon, is a god, right?" Seeing Ohashi nod, Aurora continued, "Well, he is the God of Earth, Soil and Vegetation. Currently, his power only covers a small part of Paradise because of the small sun, however, I fear that before Paradise is completely under his control, we might need to become barbarous as there is not enough space for everyone to survive."

"Then why not simply ask Lord Momonga to create a better sun? Would that not solve the situation?"

A sad smile appeared on her face, "I am afraid I am the only one who realizes the problem. I might be the Lord's granddaughter if you consider Lord Dijon his son, but not everyone can meet Him."

Pulling out a glass constrainer, Aurora filled it with sand and got up.

"Let me see these pyramids you spoke so greatly about."

"The pyramids are one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. They were able to withstand the sands of time." Excitement could be heard in Ohashi's voice as she spoke.

"The rulers of the golden sand sea used to bury themselves in pyramids as they transferred from this world to the next."

"They have a unique concept of reincarnation. Living justly in life to once again live in the underworld as gods!"

"Justly? I know we cannot use modern eyes to judge people of the past, but their Justice is bias to themselves."

"That's what Justice is. No one is right nor wrong about anything. The act of me trying to prevent the future I saw for Paradise could be considered good to the inhabitants, but if the world had its own mind, I might be wrong. Justice and the like are objective. You cannot be right with everyone, just do right for those important to you. That's why you accepted my offer, remember?"

Ohashi looked at Aurora with disbelief. Though she did not think she was dumb, her insights are something she had not thought of.

Arriving in front of a pyramid, they look at it with awe and a sense of inner insignificance.

As she flew over the ancient pyramids, Aurora was awe-struck. Ohashi had told her tales of these wonders during the flight but had never seen them before.

The old, weatherworn stones whispered secrets to her, and Aurora felt like she was witnessing something almost sacred. She circled the pyramids, taking in the majestic view, and felt like she was seeing the world through new eyes.

Aurora could feel the power emanating from these ancient structures, filling her with a sense of wonder and respect. She felt humbled by the history and the significance of the pyramids.

For Aurora, this journey was a momentous occasion, and as she continued to fly over the vast deserts, she sensed that her life would never be the same again.

As the Sun began to set, Aurora decided to rest on top of one of the pyramids for a while. She perched on a ledge and looked out over the endless expanse of sand, watching as the sky turned from bright blue to deep shades of peach and violet. She listened to the sounds of the desert, the rustling of the sand, and the distant calls of creatures that lived there. She felt a sense of peace and awe that she never wanted to leave.

As darkness fell, Aurora knew that she couldn't stay forever. She stretched her wings and took to the sky once again, feeling the cool night air as it whispered past her. She knew that she had to return home soon, but she also knew that Egypt would always hold a special place in her heart. As she flew through the starry sky, Aurora knew that she would never forget the beauty of Egypt and that it would remain a source of inspiration for her adventures to come.

"I think it's time I return. While Lord Momonga allows me to come here, it is unfair to others. Ohashi, I will never forget about you." Aurora was reluctant as she found a partner after so long, but she could not stay.

Ohashi did not want to see her friend go. She has never been happier than today. "Why not stay here? You obviously like it here."

"This is not my home, plus as the fairy of exploration, I cannot stay in one place. You can keep the Fly Necklace. Think of it as a way to remember me."

Her face was shrouded in sadness, even though she met the fairy for the very first time and spent some counting hours, she just grew a bit fond of her like a friend, she wanted her to stay or spend some more time with her, it was quite some time or a maybe very long time she had this much fun with anyone.

She wanted to tell her to stay some more days or even hours, if possible, but Ohashi tried to hold back her voice.

Holding her voice back as well, Aurora pat Ohaishi on the head, "Don't be sad. There are no good things without an end. Who knows, when your mortal life ends, we will meet again."

Casting Guide, a golden arrow that only Aurora could see spun around violently before pointing upwards. Looking up, Aurora did not see where it was pointing but did not care.

Looking at Ohashi one last time, Aurora shot into the skies far faster than before. She had been holding herself back to have fun with Ohashi, giving her a chance to keep up. Otherwise, traveling to Egypt was a simple matter of minutes.

Flying towards the heavens, Aurora saw an almost invisible gate - that most beings would not be able to see - and entered it.

The feeling of spinning appeared again, and she found herself on the Holy Mountain, with the Fairy Queen and many angels flying with weapons.

Seeing the tears on Aurora's face, Fairy Queen Titania flew over and soothed her.

"It's okay my child. Heartbreak is something everyone goes through. You meet good people, but the Lord won't allow you to have them forever."

"I know my mother, but I wanted to spend more time."

Titania became silent. She could not allow her children to be in harm's way. Her Lord told her how dangerous humans were. She was against the idea of sending Aurora to the Human World, but what could she do? She is a servant of the Lord and didn't dare to speak against Him.

Sighing, Titania kiss her daughter's head, "Cry, my child, one day you will have what you desire, but for now, respect the Lord's decision."

As if sensing a divine gaze falling on them, all creatures bowed and recited:

Supreme ruler, wise beyond measure,

Majestic creator of life and death's treasure.

With justice as his guide, he leads us all,

All hail Ainz Ooal Gown, the great Overlord!
