A God Never Falls

A month has passed since Kira, Light Yagami, was captured and turned over to the Task Force. The move was so silent that none apart from the trusted members of the Task Force were aware.

The Task Force had to be cautious since Light had a huge following. Once anyone knew that Light Yagami and Kira were one in and the same, it would be hard to predict the outcome. But it was most likely that the public would ask for his release. So to prevent such a possibility, Kira's whereabouts was not announced, probably never will be.

The Task Force did not know who the person who called them was. However, with the evidence left behind, there was no doubt who Kira was.

Taking Light Yagami back to a black site, the Task Force begin to torture him, trying to pry information from his lips. This was not decided by them, by the echelon of the world, they wanted to know how he carried out his killings and how he got caught.

Light was not amused by this but he understood he had lost, truly lost. Even if he escapes, it would be hard to recover his reputation as the God of the New World. But worse of all, he did not have his Death Note. The piece that was in his watch had been retrieved by the Life Bringer before the Task Force arrived.

From what he could see, Light realized that the Life Bringer had become the biggest winner. He possesses the Life Note and obtains a piece of the Death Note. Though with just the Life Note, reaching where Light wanted was easily, far easier.

The torture was unbearable, and he could feel his mind on the edge of collapse. He had prepare himself to the possibility of capture but the torture was worse than he imagined.

He kept his mouth shut and did not say anything but if this continues, he will spill the beans. With determination on his face, Light Yagami bit on his molars, releasing a poison into his system, ending his life.

The god of the New World has fallen.

(Few Years Later)

Outside of Tokyo City, deep inside a mountain range, a group of people of various ages could be seen walking with candles in their hands, looking ahead with faith and reverence.

One could only imagine how far they had to trek from the condition of their clothes and shoes, whose soles were falling apart. However, there was no exhaustion on their faces, it was like something was giving them an extra boost to their endurance.

An elderly man stopped and looked at the group, "Our Lord will soon return as declared by the Holy Mother. We will set her up tonight and continue tomorrow."

"Yes, High Priest."

Everyone obeyed, though they wanted to continue the journey, they understood not everyone was strong enough to.

———-

Misa Amane back arched, with her hands clutching the sheets and her toes curled up in pain, as she tried to hold back her voice. If she knew getting pregnant by Light would cause her so much pain, she would not do it.

Though she was not the smartest, she understood this was not normal. She has been pregnant for a couple years now, with no signs of giving birth prior to today.

If she wasn't sure the baby was alive, Misa would have thought she had cancer or something. However, her child was very healthy and her pregnancy was something not even recorded to exist in humans.

The gestation cycle for humans is 9 months. There are some people who carry their children 10 or even 11 months, and that is usually dangerous. Usually the doctors will attempt a C section when confirming the gestation period was done but none dare to do that to her.

She was important, but what she was carrying was even more so.

Amongst the followers of Kira, there were people in the medical field, so she had the best medical care, and didn't have to worry about anything.

If she was living in the city, the one that returned to normalcy after Light's fall, she was not sure she would survive. Mainly because she was aware that the Task Force had been searching for her, over the years.

Thankfully, Light already predicted something like this would happen and selected a group of loyal subordinates to protect her and their baby.

"Holy Mother, you're almost there, keep pushing!" A woman with white doctor clothing said as she watched Misa's vaginal opening, wanting to get the first glance of God.

"Ughhh!"

Screams echoed throughout the mansion, as doctors moved around the clock, making sure of a safe delivery of their God.

After hours of intense pushing, Misa didn't get a chance to look at her baby, as she collapsed into dreamland. She had never felt so exhausted, it's like she had been running for days and finally decided to stop.

The female doctor, shaking hands, reached down at the baby and held it into her hands. The baby had crimson red eyes that seemed to be blood, with hair similar to Misa's.

The woman wanted to turn the baby over and slap its butt for it to cry but didn't dare. The baby was not normal, it was not a mere mortal after all. Just looking at its eyes one would see cold indifference, not something a human baby should possess.

The baby floated from the doctor's hands, with its hands behind its back. It's cold eyes looked at everyone in the room, but when it looked at Misa, a slight tenderness flickered.

Everyone knelt down with excitement! They were not sure if Misa was telling the truth but it was obvious she was. This was indeed God!

"Which one of you was responsible for my Mother's meals?" The room became chilly all of a sudden.

The woman spoke with reverence, "My Lord, that would perhaps be the head chief. We here are the medical department responsible for your and the Holy Mother's health. I can send it to the chief for you."

Looking at the woman, his eyes seem to bore into her, finding something interesting.

"No need."

Reaching out with his right hand, a black tread appeared in his hand that seemed to lead somewhere deep into the mansion.

Gripping the tread, all of a sudden it began to burn, before vanishing in flying ash.

Somewhere inside the mansion, a bloodcurdling scream echoed before becoming silent.

The doctors began to tremble with shock and disbelief. Did their Lord just kill someone?

Not paying them any mind, he spoke, "My mother needs to rest and be given the best nutritional food to regain her energy. I will leave this to you. Hmm, what's your name?"

"My Lord, my name is Sakura Aoki." Sakura placed her right hand on her chest, "I will not jeopardize the trust you place in me, my Lord. The Holy Mother will be taken care of."

"Good…my name is Kira, call me that from now on." Kira did not trust Sakura, he just noticed for some odd reason his Tread of Death cannot connect to her. This can only mean she is not what she seems but he was not worried. There are many ways he can kill someone, the Tread of Death was just his favorite one. Turning his head, Kira looked at the rest of the doctors, "Get me the list of names of people who are inside the Japanese Task Force. I will use their death to announce my return."

"As your wish Lord Kira." The excitement in their voice was hard to hide.

'What an interesting twist of fate. I wanted to shock the King of Death by escaping into reincarnation but who would have thought I would be reborn as my successor's child?'

"Light Yagami and Misa Amane? Who were my parents in my first life?" Kira could not remember their faces as he killed them. Now he is born again, yet he allows Misa to live? If he had chosen to be born as a normal child she would have died but he had to wait in order to suppress his strength, so as to not take her life.

"I have gotten weak."
