Untitled

Yael sat on a drooping willow tree branch, gazing upwards with a smile as if fixated on someone or something.

As she observed her surroundings, she could only see a bleak landscape of darkness, death, and destruction. Nothing thrived or survived in this desolate place except for the tree beneath her.

This place was never so lonely before. While it was always unpleasant to behold, it used to be tolerable. However, now it is devoid of even the smallest signs of life. Not even a cockroach can be found. Though they never live here, to begin with.

In the past, someone of her status would never come to this place without being ordered, but now, it has become her home, both today and in the future.

It's possible that this was a punishment for questioning her Father's goals, or perhaps it was simply meant to be this way.

Whatever it was, it was a…bit lonely.

(Not Long Ago)

Inside Paradise, Yael reclined on a cushion, wearing a bored and uninterested expression. She had been lying there since being "rescued" from the Shinigami Realm, neither eating nor moving. Her eyes remained open, but they lacked focus on the world around her.

From her vantage point, she had a view of the entirety of Paradise, allowing her to witness Ryuk and Suriel entering the Holy Palace. However, she was preoccupied with a different situation, not paying them any mind.

Father God had successfully achieved his goal, leaving Yael with nothing else to do.

When she was created, her goal was clear: let Father God rule over Paradise and Hell. However, once that task is completed, her purpose becomes nonexistent. All beings need purpose in life. Without it, they are mindless and purposeless. That's why many turn to religion or a higher power to find meaning in life.

Yael could go about serving Him the same way as the other servants, but that's not her role or purpose. It's like asking a general to work as a chef. She can do it, but she won't be happy or motivated.

The only time she was happy when not doing the grand plan was when she was pretending to be the Angel of Life, which, in the end, turned into reality.

Watching Raye's struggle to come to terms with the power he was granted made her find humans interesting. How many would hesitate like him? Probably not many.

Looking through the internet, she knew more about humans than they did. Humans, while weak and fallible, were good entertainment to pass the time. That's something she learned from Ryuk. He loves watching Kira and would brag about him on many occasions.

Just like the residents of Paradise, humans have good and bad qualities. Not all angels have the same morality. Not all demons see everything the same way, and the same could be said about humans. Whether they be humans or Father God's creation, they are both imperfect. Our flaws are just less due to following the Supreme One.

As a result of her thoughts, she did not see why her Lord needed Hell. Was it to judge humans? Or was it to judge Paradise? Or keep them both in check?

The motives of Father God, while seemingly clear, were deep and confusing. Once you seem to get it, it hides deeper, always out of reach.

The Shinigami Realm that she didn't put in her eyes, as her Father did not create it and because none within it could kill her, had become second only to Paradise in importance, though it's barren and uninhabited.

If not because her Father ordered her to be captured, she would not enter this dead rock. If she wanted to escape, it was easy. None of them posed a threat to her, even the King of Death. Yes, he was strong, but not enough to threaten her life. However, orders are orders and must be obeyed when given by the one above all.

Everything that happened afterward was frightening, as even she didn't foresee such a thing. With just moving her as a piece on a chess board, Father God checkmate an entire realm!

Such intelligence is far above what she imagined her Lord had, but here it was slapping her in the face.

The acquisition of the Shinigami Realm was swift, with all Shinigamis willingly abandoning their home for a new chance at life in Paradise.

Originally, Yael had assumed there would be voices of opposition, but there was none. None spoke against what the King of Death decided. Maybe it was loyalty or because they hated their home. Whatever it was, everyone obeyed.

However, after moving from a world of decay and death to a world of greenery and life, the Shinigamis did not change their ways but became even more indulgent. They sleep when tired, eat when craving, and interact when bored.

In Yael's eyes, such beings were useless and should just be purged, but a specific Shinigami kept appearing inside her mind, making her not voice her opinions.

She was fond of that Shinigami but occasionally catches her fondness clouding her judgment. Thankfully, it was not much to interfere with the grand plan, but it was something she suppressed relatively easily.

With her boredom as it is, she could have just descended to the Human Word and had 'fun' with Raye, but that was no longer an option.

After Raye killed Kira, or Light Yagami as he is known, the Life Note disappeared and returned to her hands. Of course, it was Yael's own doing that prompted this. She ordered her stand-in Angel to return to Paradise.

Since Kira no longer exists and the Death Notes have been returned to the Shinigamis, the Life Note presence makes no sense.

She could have destroyed it, but she didn't, as this is something Father God created, hmm, for her.

Speaking of Paradise, no one knew she was here except Father God and Lord Blue Planet.

Yael did so little, but she felt like she did so much. Mentally, she was questioning many of her Creator's actions, but she didn't dare to utter them.

Sometimes, the more she questioned the supposedly morally just being, the more she felt her karma levels dropping.

Maybe it's because he is not just and is just the opposite, evil? She did not know as she could not sense his or Lord Blue Planet's karma as they transcend mortal morality.

She has seen the cruel side of the being known as Father God but didn't dare to experience said ruthlessness upon herself.

The memories of Father God and his comrades defeating a legion of gods and demons ran rampant in her mind. No matter how much power this world or maybe universe mustered, they could not shake those who were above it.

Being the leader of those who were evil embodies what else could he but be the greater evil?

As Yael pondered, a sudden disturbance caught her attention. A ripple in the fabric of reality sent tremors through Paradise, causing her to sit up and take notice.

Curiosity piqued, she wondered what could disrupt the serenity that Father God had created.

Flying through the skies, Yael found Lord Blue Planet looking grimly at a rift in the void above the Holy Mountain. The rift was small. However, it kept getting bigger, showing the scenes beyond.

Beyond this rift, the two saw a legion of spaceships with powerful weapons pointed at them.

They were confused about where these things came from because they knew the current world didn't have them. So perhaps they came from a different world? But didn't only the Human World, Paradise, and Hell exist?

"Yael, unfortunately, I don't have my past power at my disposal, so you must hold them off while I contact Momonga." Blue Planet frowned as he didn't know why Momonga didn't arrive. If they could sense this, he certainly can, too.

"Don't worry, my Lord, leave this to me." Yael felt her blood pump and was excited. Since her days as the Angel of Life ended, maybe she can be the Angel of War?

'Find your purpose, Yael!'

Flying over while casting spells at the rift, Yael frowned. As soon as her magic approached the rift, it vanished as if devoured by a giant mouth.

To try to do anything, she would have to approach and physically attack it, but that doesn't make sense. She did not know what the rift could do. Approaching was putting her life in jeopardy. Though her life is not worth much, it would be a pity to waste the life given to her.

Though Lord Blue Planet said to buy time, Yael didn't think she had to do much as the ships did not move or seem eager to exit the rift.

Watching Yael, Blue Planet nodded with approval and contacted Momonga, "Momonga, where are you? We have a situation in Paradise. It's best if you return."

"I have a situation here as well. The Guardian of Paradise and his subordinates were dispatched to Hell to set up a defense against a rift. However, soon after, demons that use magic that is a perfect counter to me appeared." Momonga said, shooting lightning at a demon and teleporting behind another, causing fireballs. The demons fell from the skies and disappeared in ashes.

"These demons, from what I can gather… is this universe's means to remove us." Momonga floated in the skies, looking at the rift that covered a wide part of the skies of Hell with interest. There was no end in sight of the demons, even though he felt a little worried.

His mana, while large, was not infinite; eventually, he would run out and be at their mercy, and if he fell, that would tarnish the name Ainz Ooal Gown.

"What are you saying?" Blue Planet frowns and looks at the spaceships that begin to move.

Yael moves forward bravely with determination, showing a powerful aura.

"Hmm, from the memories obtained by these demons, the universe determined that Paradise and, by extension, me are a threat to itself, so it created these corrective beings to destroy us. However, we in Paradise are too powerful for this universe, so it's unlikely to work. But what if the universe decides to create World Items? We could potentially die." Approaching the rift and spreading his hands open, Momonga activated the Goal of All Life is Death and waited for the timer to end.

The world seems to lose color before everything turns into nothingness.

When everything came into view, the area around had the presence of death. Nothing could survive in this area, well, except him.

Looking at where the rift was, Momonga noticed that it started to close but was forced to stay open.

"Blue Planet, I just used the Goal Of All Life Is Death, and the rift started to close, but I don't think the power was enough. I will solve the situation here and come aid you." Ending the Message, Momonga flew next to the rift, looking inside, seeing a scene that caused his heart to sink.

Beyond the rift were what he imagined to be universes. He could only see it because the rifts affect these universes.

"If what I see is true, could our world be one of those? But how do I enter them? How do I safely test this out?" Momonga was confused and eager to see if any of his friends were in them but felt that if he stepped inside the rift, he would die. He could survive in space as an undead, but universal travel? He might be ripped to shreds!

"Wait, when I created Paradise, I could see those sealed worlds. Could they be projections of the universes? Meaning that the world I am in represents one? So that means this world is trying to kill me and my subordinates because we are outsiders? Did I perhaps alter the destined path of this world by existing? Before Raye killed Light Yagami, this didn't happen, so could there be a correlation?" He felt his brain piecing things together, making him aware of how messed up the situation was. "The King of Death is not from this universe, but he survived here and did not die. According to the information from the Grim Reapers, the King of Death is responsible for the Black Plague, which might have been him battling against the corrective force. He won and was allowed to exist as a part of this universe? Why didn't he tell me this, or is this a test?" Momonga have been wary of the King of Death because he doesn't know what he is thinking. The fact he had just dropped the Shinigami Realm into his hand made the wariness in him grow. He always felt like the King of Death was not as he seemed was hiding very deeply.

Staring at the constant stream of demons, Momonga pondered their capabilities. How do they hold up to certain spells? Could they, even though weak, bypass the Yggdrasil mechanism? All these thoughts swirled in his mind, making him eager to test everything. He already knew how to close the rift, so the element of danger seemed to fade.

Feeling the Message disconnected, Blue Planet frowned, feeling the little power he had recovered since rebirth. He was not even a ten, a percent as strong as he used to be. However, he still could stop this if he used power outside of magic and skills, Super Tier Spells.

Super Tier spells do not require mana, just time to cast. The only problem is that one cannot spam these spells. Otherwise, it would have broken the power system of Yggdrasil.

However, he needed overpower now, as Momonga told him how to close the rift.

Blue Planet yells at Yael, "Yael, buy me a couple minutes and then retreat. Don't look back."

He had thirty Super Tier Spells in his arsenal, many of which are nature-related, as he is a nature lover.

He was not sure any of these spells were powerful enough to close that rift, but he must try nonetheless.

Closing his eyes to try and remember his spells, Blue Planet narrowed on one of them. However, he was worried as the price was too high. He would not frown even a bit if he were in his old form, but he was now just a human.

Looking at Yael, a guilty and determined look appeared on his face, "While right now this might be a curse, when I recover, I will bear it. So just for now, Yael, endure!"

"Amidst the final hour, nature awakens from its slumber to wage war against the cruel deity. Though nature may have succumbed, the fallen God transforms into the evil Devil. Witness the grandeur of !" As the incantation resounds, magnificent arcane circles enshroud Blue Planet, ablaze with an ethereal emerald radiance.

The ground, the air, and the skies seem to freeze for a moment before everything turns black and red.

The blackness rushed towards Yael, and the redness rushed towards the rift.

The blackness reached before the redness, drowning Yael in its hues.

Yael's wings turned as black as night, her golden halo dimmed and turned red, and her golden eyes became black with red pupils. Just like that, she has become a fallen angel.

Yael screamed and looked at her body. Turning around, she looked at Lord Blue Planet, seeing him with a guilty look, and understood everything. She was upset, angry even, but she knew this was necessary. She is a powerful angel, but there is little she can do against this rift. Her spells didn't work, and she didn't dare to approach, so she imagined the spell Lord Blue Planet used was warranted. So even though she was angry, she only smiled.

Smiling, Yael let the unknown power act on her, breaking through the confines of Paradise and dragging her to Shini…Hell.

Thus Hell gained its ruler, the Lucifer Morningstar of the Death Note universe, Yael.

Looking at the scene, Blue Planet sighed but continued looking at the rift, seeing the redness consume everything on its path, even the rift itself. Nothing could halt its step even for a second.

As the rift disappeared, the redness condenses into a red apple, pulsing like a heart.

If he devours it, he could recover 10 percent of his power, but he will lose his mind for a period. However, if he plants it, it will give nature a second chance, a revival.

Holding the fruit in hand, Blue Planet tosses the apple, watching it fall below Paradise before collapsing on the ground, feeling drained.

————

In Hell, Momonga was killing the enemies left and right and was on the verge of closing the rift when a hole appeared above Hell with a person falling from it and crashing into the earth!

Boom!

Dust and rocks kicked up for miles, hindering any attempt to see what had fallen.

Not long after the figure, a red light streaked across the skies and landed on the ground, transforming into a willow tree whose branches covered the entire realm.

It did not take a genius to know what happened, and Momonga was no genius. While he was angry at Blue Planet for using that spell on his daughter no less, he understood that he was left with no choice.

It would be hypocritical to blame Blue Planet, but he was upset!

"I'm sorry, my daughter. Blame your Father for not returning fast enough." Turning around, seeing the demons keep coming out, Momonga said in a cold tone, "Playtime is over. I have gathered enough information. They are not a threat to Paradise."

Using Grasp Heart on one of the demons, he uses a Super Tier spell, "By the name of supreme power, I invoke ! Let silence reign and sound be banished as the symphony of destruction unfolds. With a crescendo of sonic annihilation, all shall be reduced to naught but ashes!"

Crash! (Cash Item)

As the words echo forth, the very fabric of sound unravels, leaving only a deafening silence before the cataclysmic chorus of high-pitched tones obliterates all in its wake.

It was like someone used a muted button to remove the noise in the surroundings, as nothing the demons did make sound. Then a thunderous sound appeared and turned the demons into dust.

"That should be enough." Turning around, Momonga teleported to Paradise, approaching Blue Planet's location while thinking. 'I need to fix the situation, try to limit the amount of impact I have on this world. The incident with Raye and Light Yagami was the catalyst. Light Yagami was not supposed to die.'

Looking at his friend curled up, sleeping, Momonga didn't know if he should laugh or cry.

Flying around Hell, Yael felt this place was not too bad. At least she could enjoy a moment of peace before getting lost in her thoughts again.

"Still, it's a bit lonely."
