Chapter one: the Call of Destiny

He awoke with his pulse in his head, disoriented, his vision hazy. As his vision started to adjust to the low light. He found his surroundings strange, as he gazed lucidly around his surroundings.

"I wonder how I ended up in this cave.", he said to himself, as he struggled to his feet. "strange, I can't seem to recall how I ended up here"

Finally getting up to his feet he stumbled down the dark corridor ahead of him. Regaining his balance slowly, as he made his way forward, searching for a way out. Suddenly he noticed a faint light coming, ever so dimly, from the other side of the tunnel. As he approached the opening, he witnessed a large cavern opening up just ahead of him. He squinted his eyes and began started looking for the source of that dim light. On the opposite side of the cave a pedestal shrouded in a pale dim light. Making his way across the cavern, towards the strange pedestal, it seemed out of place among the rock formations lining the walls.

Walking up, there was a small staircase leading up to where the pedestal rested, on a small platform. There was only a few steps, but they were clearly carved from the rock side. Ascending the staircase, he stepped onto the platform.

"This, is just to weird. What is this doing in a place like this." He contemplated as he approached.

A golssy black screen lay atop the pedestal. The blinking outline of a hand could be seen, pulsing with a white light.

" To think it's actually a hand scanner?"

Maybe out of instinct, or some weird habit. He placed his hand upon the pedestal, as he did, a blinding light flashed before his eyes, filling the whole room with a bright white light.

"Welcome traveler, do you wish to leave this life behind you? for power and Adventure?" A voice bellowed, echoing through the cavern.

In the air in front of him a text box appeared, similar to one found in a video game.[ or ] were the only words stated on the text box.

"I must be dreaming" he said to himself

"how can this even be possible. This has to be some kind of lame dream, right?" As soon as those words left his lips, he pressed the button floating in front of him.

"So be it!!!" these word reveberated through the walls of the cavern, as though the very cave was speaking to him.

Sundenly another flash of light, followed by intense pain, caused him to collapse to the floor once again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Opening his eyes, he realized that his environment had changed yet again. This time he was in a hut, approximately the size of a condo apartment. The walls of the hut were made of various large rocks, and something similar to clay or mortar. the next thing he noticed, was the thatched-roof, that seemed as though it would be unable to withstand rain, let alone a thunder storm.
There was no door leading out of the hut, just the hide of a huge creature, he failed to recognize. Tacked into the clay above the opening,acting as a curtain. which was rather large in and of itself.
As he sat up on the bed, a middle aged woman, wearing a very old and tattered dress, walked into the hut.
"Oh its seems you woke up, I was starting to worry, you've been unconscious for two days, dearie." The woman said as she walked in and saw him sitting up.
"Where am I?" He asked her "How did I get here?"
"One question at a time, dearie" She replied" as to where you are, you're in Thoma village, and as to how you got here, I found you in the field just north of here unconscious. How you got there I'm not really to sure."
"Thoma, where it that I don't think I've ever heard of such a village?" He questioned.
"We're just a small village on the eastern-most part of the continent of Eran. "She answered in a confused tone.
[it seams I've been transported to another world] he thought.[ what was that weird voice I heard?]
As if replying to his question another text box popped up in front of him.
< Greetings traveler, you've been transported to the continent of Eran. Eran is currently over run by demons. as you gain experience you may use this interface to allocate skill points, check your stats, access your inventory and level up. your goal is to reach the very peak of this world of destroy the demon scourge rioting around, this once peaceful land.>
Just below the message a button reading could be seen. Without much hesitation he pushed and the text prompt vanished before his eyes.
[Stats] He thought, and just as the previous message stated, a prompt popped up in front of him.
[I get to chose my own name that's a cool feature I guess. I just go with my old name]
Name: Adrian Carter
[Warrior of course] He thought to himself with a smirk.]
Class: Warrior
Level: 1
STR:8
VIT:6
As the words floated before him, he felt a warm feeling rush over his whole body. His fatigue melted away as though, A river washing away the debris from it banks.
With a thought the prompt disappeared, and for a Split second, he noticed that the world seemed to be paused while his stat window was open.[ That's the best feature so far. Note to self; abuse this feature later] he smiled to himself as he thought of how useful that would be in the future.
"Thank you for the information, ma'am" He told the woman.
"Your very welcome young man, such manners are hardly seen now days. With the demons a running amuck and all. Now here eat this, dearie. You must be famished, after all you have been asleep for two whole days" She said as she handed him a bowl of gruel, like porridge.
It was only then, when she handed him the bowl did he realize how truly hungry he was. Without hesitating for even a moment he scarfed it all down as though he was a starving hound. When he finished his food he placed the bowl on the, near by night stand.
"At least, someone around here likes my food." She said jokingly with a wink, as she turned to leave the hut.
