Chapter 25

"Are you sure about this? This is gonna be extremely dangerous." Emily sighed.

"Yes. Whatever happens, even if I die. I must protect Aesop." Joseph said as his eyes flickered a resolute gleam.

"Alright. Come back here in 10 days. I'll make a poison."

"Thank you, Emily," Joseph mumbled.

"It's no problem. Before you leave, find out how Aesop was poisoned."

"He's been receiving tea lately."

Emily's body trembled. This was also how Hildegard got so weak. It seems like the host didn't change his moves.

"Get me the teacup. If there are still traces of the tea left, make sure to give it to me."

"Right." He said before his body flickered and disappeared.

After a few minutes, Joseph came back with a teacup in his hand.

"Thank you. I'll have to study the poison first before I can cure Aesop. I don't think he'll wake up anytime soon."

"Please take care of him."

"I naturally will."

Joseph then nodded without saying anything else. Staying here will just hurt him.

Before they even noticed it, night fell and it was now dark.

-

Joseph sat on his bed as he removed the gold ribbon tying his hair. His silver hair cascaded down his face as his eyes showed murderous intent. This time, he wouldn't just sit still and watch his loved ones die.

It wouldn't happen again.

Suddenly, faint knocks could be heard from the old oak door.

"Come in."

The door opened as a tall man entered his room.

"Jack."

"Did you get the poison?" Jack said before he brandished his blades.

"No. Emily will still concoct the poison. She'll give it to me in 10 days." Joseph explained.

"Good. The only problem now is the hunters." Jack mumbled. This was what he was talking about. It wasn't gonna be so easy to turn the hunters against the host. Especially Yidhra.

"I'll talk to Yidhra. I'll leave the other hunters to you." Joseph said before looking at Jack and flashing a smile at him.

Jack, however, shivered from that smile. Why did it look so... Sinister?

He sighed before shaking his head.

"Alright. I'll leave now. I can't stay in your room for long." The man said before fog appeared.

The next second, the tall man disappeared as he faded into the fog.

The next day

At Yidhra's room

"Yidhra?" Joseph knocked on an old oak door. Despite the door being a few decades old, it looked like it was still in top condition.

"Sss." Joseph heard hissing sounds after knocking. Was that an invitation to come in?

"Uhm. I'm coming in." He said before rotating the doorknob and going inside.

The room Yidhra resided in was four times as big as his room. His room was in no means small. You can imagine just how big Yidhra's room by just entering the room.

The inside was like a small house. It was completely equipped with stuff.

Joseph looked to the side and an array of pickaxes were on top of the table.

Her followers were everywhere and contrary from when they were in-game, Yidhra's followers seemed like the carefree type.

Usually, there should only be 1 follower active at a time but right now, there were currently 8 active followers. It looked like Yidhra was just holding back.

A follower then walked towards Joseph and brought him to the living room.

"So, what brings you here?" Another follower sitting on the biggest seat said. It was most probably Yidhra controlling her.

"I want to ask for your help." Joseph straightforwardly said. He couldn't afford to mess up now.

"And why should I do that?" The follower looked away as she curled her hair. Seemingly bored.

"I want to kill the host."

Surprised, Yidhra (I'm just gonna put Yidhra) looked at Joseph as she frowned.

"What if I don't help?" Her eyes gleamed a sinister glare. If he answered wrongly...

"Nothing. There's nothing I can do about it. I'm here in hopes of your help but if you really don't want to do it, what can I do?" The silver-haired man looked at Yidhra as he sighed.

"Good." Yidhra said as the corner of her lips curled upwards, forming a smirk. If Joseph dared threaten her, she wouldn't know what she'll do.

"Speak. I'll only give you 5 minutes. If it's not satisfactory you can leave." Yidhra said as she looked at the clock.

"Right."

Joseph then explained everything smoothly in 5 minutes. Yidhra was surprised he was able to get her intrigued.

"What do I get in return?" Yidhra said as she went back to her original body. The follower then walked away.

"The host."

"I could've easily made the host submit to me. Why must I wait until now if I wanted him?" Yidhra frowned as she looked at Joseph.

What she got in return wasn't at all satisfactory.

"You can be the next ho-"

"Not interested."

Joseph cursed in his mind. What the hell did she want?

"What do you want?" Joseph then asked. He was really running out of ideas.

"Heh." Yidhra grinned. This was what she was waiting for.

"If you submit to me, I can consider it." Yidhra smiled as she chuckled inside. This was where they would always back up.

"This..." Joseph bit his lower lip.

"I can agree but you must promise me one thing." He said through gritted teeth.

Surprised, Yidhra looked at Joseph in a probing manner. He actually agreed?

"You know what happens to my followers right?"

"Yes."

"Hah... I didn't think you'd agree to it." Yidhra mumbled. "Speak, what is it you want?"

"I'll submit to you only if you promise to help."

"Alright." Yidhra grinned. Looks like she'll have a new follower.

"If that's all you can go. I'll tell you when I'm free." Yidhra said as she waved him off, completely forgetting Joseph couldn't see him

"Okay." Joseph stood up before taking large strides towards the door. He then left a few seconds later.

After seeing Joseph leave, Yidhra had a look of amusement plastered on her face.

"Joseph, oh Joseph. I didn't think you'd be willing to be my follower for that boy." Yidhra showed a sadistic smile.

"Hah... It's been a while since I last did something. Let's just say it's me taking an exercise." She smiled as she slithered to her bed.
