Chapter 29

"Haa... You monster." Yidhra breathed heavily as blood trickled on the side of her head. She furrowed her brows as she had used too much of her magic and is now exhausted.

"I'm no better than you." The injuries the host incurred were just as severe. However, as compared to Yidhra, it wasn't that much.

Yidhra had the possibility to have Mana deficiency, if that happened, it will immediately put her in life-threatening danger.

"Yidhra, I suggest you leave. It wouldn't be my problem if you turn to minced meat." The host said while grinning.

"Hmph. You have no need to tell me that." Yidhra recalls all of her followers, then turned to the host as she frostily glares at him.

"My, my. You don't need to look at me that way." He chuckled, but the smile on his face turned to a frown in a flash.

"Agh... This is no fun..." He thought, before looking around.

What used to be the bright, beautiful scene, inside the dreamscape was now covered in red. With the nauseating smell of blood permeating the air.

Puddles of red liquid could be seen everywhere while two individuals looked at each other from afar.

"The fact that I can read your thoughts irks me." Yidhra said before the scenery once again distorted.

---

"Get ready, Yidhra is at her limit." Hastur alerted the group as he looked around cautiously.

"I've never seen you this agitated before." Wu Jiu smirked. "Besides, how do you know that?"

"I just know. Stop asking questions." Hastur frowned in annoyance.

Wu Jiu rolled his eyes but got ready nevertheless.

"Bi'an, can you he-"

"He's here!" Jack abruptly said before the room started shaking violently.

Joseph frowned as he stabilized his balance.

Amidst the chaos, two silhouettes could be seen slowly appearing.

After the shaking stopped, the two identities could be seen clearly.

"Of course you're all here." The host mumbled before suddenly licking his lips. "Perfect." He then lunged towards Wu Chang.

"WU CHANG!" Hastur bellowed and was quick to react and immediately summoned tentacles.

The barrage of tentacles that grew from everywhere blocked the host's way to Wu Jiu, but only slowed him.

Jack quickly realized what happened and gritted his teeth before hurrying to help block the host.

Jack was too late, however, and the host swiftly got to Wu Chang.

"WU CHANG!" Joseph shouted.

"Hey... Why're you targeting me?" Wu Jiu breathed heavily as blood dripped from his abdomen.

"Fuck! That hurts." Wu Jiu flinched in pain.

"Wu Jiu! Are you alright?" Bi An's concerned voice came from the umbrella.

"Yeah, I managed to use that stinky brat's perfume." Wu Jiu grinned. His wounds were recovering as fast as the naked eye could see.

Everyone sighed in relief, while the host looked at Wu Jiu in disbelief.

"You did better than I thought. But, you won't last long." He then looked at Wu Jiu in scorn.

"Tsk. I'll wipe that smug look off of your face, you prick."

"I'll wait for that." He then grinned and lunged towards Jack.

Jack reacted fast and hurriedly blocked the host.

Sounds of metal clanging together resounded throughout the messy, dust-filled room.

Documents were scattered everywhere while objects were being thrown.

While that happened, a paper landed on Joseph's feet. Upon picking it up, Joseph's blood boiled as his eyes turned bloodshot.

Joseph lunged towards the host, apparently angry.

The host was still fighting with Jack, his overwhelming power apparent to everyone.

Wu Jiu attacked him together with Joseph, the host noticed it but was still preoccupied with Jack. He hurriedly kicked Jack away and parried Wu Jiu while dodging to the side.

However, Joseph's blade still reached him despite all that.

The host retreated a few meters before touching his blood-soaked arm.

"Hah..." He was ecstatic, it had been a very long time since he felt this rush of excitement. His blood boiled, while his five senses heightened to a degree.

He then rushed towards the nearest person.

As the distance between the host and Wu Jiu shortened, Wu Jiu's heart beat uncontrollably.

"Hey, Bi'an, do you trust me?" His grip on Bi'an tightening.

"Of course." Bi'an replied.

"Good, because I'll show that fucker who's boss." The host got nearer and nearer, to the point that the host could stab him.

But then, just before the host could lay a hand on him, Wu Jiu rang the bell, stopping the host in his tracks.

Hastur immediately saw an opening and

summoned tentacles to stop the host from moving.

Upon seeing this, Jack, Joseph, and Bi'an grinned before bombarding the host with an onslaught of attacks.

The dazed host only realized a little too late.

---

Inside a messy room, four heavily injured men could be seen lying on the floor. The metallic scent of blood permeating the air.

Hastur sighed upon seeing the four of them lying there.

Before they could land the last blow, the host managed to break free from his tentacles and started another battle with them.

After another hour and so of fighting, this was the end result.

"Hah... To think you lot could barely keep up with me even after I drank your poison and fighting Yidhra." The host laughed before coughing out blood.

"Shut up. If you got done in with just a small fight why are you even the host." Wu Jiu retorted while panting.

"Whatever. I got what I wanted. There's no point in staying alive now." The host coughed.

He was already injured after fighting with Yidhra, he could've easily dealt with the three of them only if Hastur didn't support them.

"Go die already, old geezer." Wu Jiu huffed. He just wanted this old man to die already.

"Well then, I wish you all the best..."

One minute... Two minutes... Three... The silence continued until Bi'an spoke up.

"Jiu, I'll take over from here."

"Mm." Wu Jiu nodded before his heavy eyelids could no longer keep up and lost consciousness.

After a few seconds, the majority of Wu Chang's hair turned white, his eyes opening in the process.

"I wish someone could takeover for me too..." Joseph sighed before closing his eyes.

He was tired. He definitely had, at some point, thought that his plan would fail and backfire. Endangering others and Aesop even more.

It was finally over. The long preparation they did just to kill the host paid off.

He lied on the floor, dead tired while huffing for air.

His heavy eyelids refused to open as the thought of resting plagued his mind.

"Mm... I'll just sleep... For 5 minutes..."
