Something about 'Nicholas Blood'

The odd man was finishing the last batch of drugs when the people who were supposed to protect the place came running from the outside. He heard the footsteps and knowing very well why they were running to his lab, he decided to meet them midway, so that they didn't contaminate his workplace, even though this place will be shut down pretty soon.

"Mr. C, are you okay?" The one who Nicholas noticed to be the most controlled thug out of the group outside, asked. And now, he was slightly nervous.

The man that came from inside the warehouse, Nicholas, shouldn't be able to get in, in the first place. And even more, he escaped. That could lead to various endings, none of them sounds good.

"I am well. No need to worry, Mr. Demetrius. The man who entered this building was not an immediate threat, I presume. He seems to be unclear of the type of operation being executed, if his words can be considered true. And also, I would like to request the retrieval of the tanks as well as the complete extinguishment of this place, clearly we have been compromised." The odd man spoke, his voice carrying a bit of displeasure for the current situation.

Demetrius immediately gathered his limping colleagues and started to erase everything.

Meanwhile, the odd man left the warehouse, already in normal clothes but still using his ski mask. Arriving outside, a car parked just in front as he got inside.

"So, Mr. C. Do you know who was it?" The driver asked as the odd man sat inside the car.

"Unfortunately, I don't believe I know the intruder. Although it is certainly a supernatural being, which race I do not know. And it also seems that he has little information about my work, which complements the assumption of his unawareness of our operation." Mr. C replied.

"And what makes you believe that? We are under immense danger. If the wrong people know about our operation, we cannot leave without consequences." The driver said as he started to drive away from the warehouse.

"His words. I am aware of the possibility of misleading behaviors, but his words didn't bring enough threat. It looked like admiration for the operation. He actually spoke aloud his thoughts, like there was no problem if someone else would know. It's interesting. He definitely carries an important position in the darker world, he exuded confidence." Mr. C, the odd man, carried amusement when talking about Nicholas. He truly was fascinated by the character.

That's not just some coincidence, inside the 'darker world', as Mr C calls it, there are few people who can carry themselves around like that. Although supernatural, and certainly powerful beings, but there are rules in every society. Acting confident or cocky when dealing with organized crime in New York City is really not for everyone unless you know exactly where you stand.

The 'darker world' is the society for these supernatural beings. And most of them hold some type of role, these people also tend to follow the rules, as disrespecting it could bring much more sufferable endings than death.

The driver looked at Mr. C weirdly but shrugged after a while. He hoped that the situation doesn't leak. Otherwise, it would be pretty bad.

After leaving Mr. C in his required location, the driver left to his base of operation. He was contracted by a third party to manage and secure some parts of this operation together with Mr. C. They also contracted the Bad Angel to be the workforce in the meanwhile.

Obviously, he is a mercenary, a very good and talented one by the name Julius. The second task he received from his contractors was to gather as much information as possible on a certain target. The catch is, the mercenary has to gather information that is not known. Anything he finds out, he will receive a bonus.

His workroom was filled with information that the people contracting him already has. This way it facilitates his job by lot, knowing the information already gathered and maybe something to point him in what direction to look for.

The person's name is Nicholas Blood. Surely the same Nicholas that showed up at the drug factoring building that the mercenary collected Mr. C just a while ago. Unfortunately, he didn't see Nicholas in person, otherwise he would be able to recognize him. And the reason which Mr. C didn't recognize him, is due to his inexperience with the 'celebrities' of the underworld, he just prefers to work.

A sort of irrelevant, yet relevant information is that Nicholas's surname doesn't add any useful information about him. The mercenary tried to find something about a family, an associate, or something similar, but it turned out to be useless.

Julius does know about Nicholas being a supernatural being but it becomes irrelevant in his line of business, he already got used to it.

Another hard thing to determine is the vampire's whereabouts, with his constant movement, and needless for physical means of locomotion, it doubles the difficulty to find him.

Although the mercenary already found some clues to determine his location, but that was interrupted by Mr. C's call. And by now, it's probably useless as Julius body needs some rest so he decided to sleep, the time almost reaching 4 a.m.

Meanwhile, Nicholas arrived at Gary's Table, he walked to his office-room after greeting Jonathan, the bartender, and resumed his book reading from early.

After morning came, which didn't take long, Nicholas left his office once again. This time, he went to a very interesting building. The Police Department, specifically the chief of police's office.

The police department had about 4 floors, and the police chief's office was located at the top. Currently, he was having a meeting in another room with some deputies and a few captains. As expected, his office was empty, which made Nicholas's sudden appearance inside the room much more smoother.

Not long after, the man arrived in his room. Surprised for not finding his secretary on her desk, but he still kept going as he had noticed a man seating on his guest's chair.

"Good morning. May I know who I have the honor of receiving in my office? It seems that my secretary forgot to warn me about an early morning meeting." The Chief of Police spoke politely. His bulk, yet fat body standing straight to transmit the most respect.

The chief is a white man about 6 feet tall, with short hair and an average face. He is known as a family man, although that doesn't mean he isn't open about the sexuality and race equality protests of the past, his department is also very disciplined as they reduced big numbers in terms of major crimes around New York City.

This is also one of the reasons which he has managed to stay as one of the most successful policeman in the country, due to his acceptance of multiple political forces and population, as well as his turn around resolution of NYC's complete demise in the past.

And that happened after he named his Deputy Director, as that guy was specialized in analytical solutions, his solutions made big improvements when it came to applying the police forces to prevent the crimes.

Knowing the illustrious position of the Police Chief, today Nicholas came with an interesting proposal for the police chief.

"Mr Jennickins, my name is Nicholas. I presume you remember my letter, the letter that really changed the history of the NYPD... Well, maybe it's more of an exchange of favors." Nicholas explained. He was still seated in the chair across the chief's desk. The latter also assumed his seat, as he looked at Nicholas.

At the mention of the letter, Lawrence Jennickins became unsettled. He started to slightly sweat, his face became even more serious, his brows furrowed and he completely tensed.

The reason for that, was that many years ago, when New York City was a complete chaos, Police Chief Lawrence Jennickins received a letter. Even though this letter had a name, but there was nothing else so he couldn't track the sender and it also appeared without any sort of mail service, it became completely anonymous.

The other part that changed the Police Chief is that letter contained more of a plan to end some of the major crimes occurring in the city. Along with the request to promote the current Deputy Director, it also pointed hideouts throughout the city, which led to the knock on the door of various wanted and dangerous criminous.

Yet another part of the letter's effect, was that after the happening, the crime rates in the city reduced drastically. Like no one dared to step outside and try to rob or murder someone.

Some would say that it was due to the brutality that the police assumed when dealing with such criminals. The entirety of NYC was terrified, well, at that time, the innocent population had little occupation inside the city. That became a factor, as the casualty's also dropped, even with the police approach.

This in itself could impose respect in the man who claimed to write it. Also the fact that even as all those years passed, Mr. Jennickins never stopped investigating the author of that letter, frustrating himself to find any sort of clue that never came.

Nicholas smiled as his presence was made much more important to the man in front of him and he knows it.
