"What?" I was afraid that there was no food for me! Nooooooo….
"Since its only 1 room, the innkeeper said that only 1 person gets free food. The rest have to pay. It's 5 coppers a meal"
"Ugh… we don't have much money and now we have to pay for the food too. How much money do we have left anyway Cleo?"
"Well, I have 1 silver which is 100 coppers. Including the leftover money I had before, I have 110 coppers. How about you two?"
"I have 20 coppers left" I said dejectedly
"Umm.. I was not able to take any money when Jina kicked me out. I don't even have a change of clothes. She is not really heartless. She might have thought that I would come crawling back to her" Turek said awkwardly.
"That means we have a total of 130 coppers. So we can live here for…" I tried to calculate how long we can stay here with that much money.
"Thats 25 coppers each day if we consider 2 meals a day. Which means we can stay here only for 5 days if we don't use that money for anything else.
We are really poor, I thought to myself. We need to do another quest right away. Otherwise poor Turek wouldn't even have clothes to wear. We will also need to buy weapons and armor if we want to survive for long. The situation is not looking good. We could go for another Kura herb quest but now we didn't even have the water pouches and the bag that Turek had brought from his home. After all, he had been kicked out without being given even a change of clothes.
"That's more than enough time. If we do the Kura herb quest a few more times, we should be able to make do right? We could try doing other quests as well. We will be fine you guys! You are worried about nothing." Cleo tried to cheer us up.
"You are right Cleo. I can just sleep in these clothes today. Tomorrow we can do the quest again and we will have enough money."
Looking at the two of being so hopeful, I didn't want to bring up the issues. I can do that when we start planning for the quest.
"So, should we go get some food? I am starving you know?" I really was starving at this point!
We went down and got some food. Like Cleo had said, it was 5 coppers for me and Turek and Cleo's meal was included in the room. I had never really lived in an inn, I wasn't sure if their was cheaper or better inn available. The food from stalls was not any cheaper than this. Food itself was surprisingly not bad.
After finishing our meals, we decided that we would go back up and plan for what to do tomorrow. We moved 2 of the beds, mine and Turek's together and sat in a circle on the combined bed. Cleo wanted to join her bed as well but me and Turek opposed vehemently. Cleo seemed hurt as if we were not including her but we remained firm on this issue. Being in the same room was hard enough, we didn't want to tempt fate anymore. After all, if we did do anything, the result will be us getting beaten to a pulp!
