I rolled over to get down on the bed. She had a smaller build than Leana so it wasn't the same experience. I wasn't even aware that I wasn't on a bed when I was sleeping on top of Leana. It was more obvious with Cleo since she was slimmer than Leana.
"So who is the better one? Leana or me?"
Cleo asked just as I started to get up. Huh? Cleo knew I was sleeping on top of Leana? So she was just pretending to be asleep when she pulled me on top of her? It seemed obvious now that this was all Cleo's plan. I bit my lip and replied
"Eh.. err… I think both are quite good…". I hoped she didn't say anything to Leana. After all it didn't look like Leana knew that I was sleeping on top of her.
"Is that so?" Cleo's voice sounded colder.
"Of course your are better!" I replied with reflex.
"Haha, glad to hear it." Cleo seemed back to normal.
What is this situation? Is this something to compete at?
I was not only short but quite thin resulting in a really small build. On the other hand Cleo taller and bigger than me while Leana had large a build while being much taller than Cleo. I don't think something like sleeping on top of another person would be possible unless there was such a difference in sizes. It reminded me how Tina had handled me like a little kid the day before. She too was quite a bit bigger than me. Well, most adult women were bigger compared to me but not all of them were of Leana's or even Cleo's size.
Cleo had gotten up while I was thinking about this.
"Stop worrying about it. I don't mind you know. Let's get going. We need to get ready to leave soon."
I sighed and got up from the bed. I think this is something normal for Cleo since was used to taking care of kids in her village. Ahh… when will I grow taller? I didn't want to be treated like a kid!
I followed Cleo downstairs to the the bathroom/shack with my clothes. I saw that Leana was already there. She had finished freshening up. She hadn't brought her clothes from her home, so I assumed she wanted to go home for her bath.
After greeting Cleo she glared at me and asked "What were you thinking? Is that how you…"
Cleo cut her off in the middle.
"Don't worry so much Leana. I don't mind at all"
"How can you not mind? He is a guy and you are a girl!"
"He is 17 and I am almost 24. We have 7 years age gap. To me, he is like a little brother!"
Leana didn't look convinced. After all we were not really brother and sister at all. But she seemed to have decided to not bring it up anymore. If both me and Cleo are fine, she probably thought that she didn't have any right to interfere.
Turek came out after his bath. Just like yesterday, Cleo washed my back again. This time I took off my own clothes to avoid yesterday's repeat. After my bath, she took her bath alone and came out once she was done.
We went back in and saw Leana and Turek eating at the table. Now with the amount of money we had, we could afford breakfast.
Since both Turek and Leana didn't bring up the morning events again, the conversation stayed on traveling to the Tiaanway and what kind of preparation we needed to make. Leana said that she will go back to her home to get ready and meet us back here. She didn't have anyone else at home and I guessed she would need to take the most valuable things with her to avoid them being stolen. When I asked about that she said,
"I don't really have much. I used up a lot of the money I had after my father died and I didn't have a job. I also had to pay for the guard training. I have only a little bit of savings like I said yesterday. Even the armor I had yesterday was provided to me because I was a city guard. I had to return it."
"Do you have any weapons?"
Leana looked down and said "No. I never thought I would be leaving the city guard. I had the sword that I had received after joining the guards but I had to return it yesterday. Now I don't have a sword or armor of my own..."
"Its alright Leana, we will buy some for you. We have to buy it for everyone" said Cleo trying to cheer up Leana.
"What will you do with the house? Is it your house, or did you rent it?" I asked Leana.
"Well, It's my house. Or rather, my father bought it after he married my mother. It's not really a big house so its not worth a lot but it's still my house. Since I am planning to come back, I will just lock it up and tell my friends to keep an eye on it. There is not much of value there anyway."
Leana had brought up her mother for the first time but I didn't want to ask about it. It could only assumed that she had died a long time ago as well. I had grown up as an orphan myself, so I knew how it felt to be without parents.
