Going out

I woke up feeling well rested. I felt something soft on my face and buried my head deeper into it. Uh… is it happening again? The last two times this happened, my face was buried into Leana's and Cleo's breasts. I opened my eyes expecting the worst. To my surprise, my face was buried into a pillow. I sighed in relief and turned right and saw Sheila staring at me with a smile on her face. I pulled back from her and sat up. It looks like I did share the bed with Sheila but thankfully nothing weird happened this time.

I started looking around and saw that it was already evening. No one else was there, so I looked at Sheila and asked "Where is everyone?"

"Umm… they said they will be back soon. They told me to wait here and take care of you!"

Didn't Cleo say that either her or Leana would stay with Sheila all the time? I feel like she is taking this too lightly. If Sheila decided to do something, there would be nothing I could do to stop her!

I looked at her smiling face and thought that I was being paranoid. I stood up and stretched a bit. I really had a good sleep this time. All the fatigue I had after the long trip was gone and I felt refreshed. Sheila also got up and came over. I realized again just how small I was compared to her when standing in front of her. She was smaller than Leana but it was hard to see the difference unless I saw both of them at the same time. Right now I was feeling a bit scared. Leana was my saviour, so I didn't ever feel afraid of her. But Sheila wasn't the same, I didn't know what she was capable of now, but I had seen what she had done before. It was hard for me to forget that so quickly and believe that Sheila had changed so easily.

Sheila looked down at me and asked "Do.. Do you want to go somewhere? I will come with you!"

I didn't really have anywhere to go, I was just stretching! It had been around 4 hours since lunch, but I wasn't really hungry. Since this is a new city, maybe it was a good idea to look around.

"Sure…. How about we take a look around. You haven't been to this city before either right?"

"Ok!" Sheila answered with a smile.

Does this woman not get tired of smiling? How can she be so happy all the time? Then I realized that she didn't look like this in the bandit cave. At the time, her face was expressionless. Now she seemed really happy. There had to be some kind of magic involved in this. How can a person change so much in less than a day?

I changed clothes but Sheila didn't have any other clothes. I thought we could buy some when looking around. We locked the room and went down the stairs. Sheila held on to my hand like last time. I didn't want a repeat of what happened before, so I didn't even bother to protest.

We came down and saw a woman in her 30s that I had seen the first time sitting at the desk instead of Eslie. She must be Elsie's mother. She looked like a kindhearted person and greeted us when we walked over.

"Hi, we are going to go out for a while. Can you give my companions a message if they come back?"

"Sure. You are Ren right? Elsie told me all about you. She can't stop talking about you now." The woman said with a smile.

"I am Brenda, Elsie's mother. You really are just as cute as Elsie said! Feel free to play with Elsie any time you want."

She looked at Sheila holding my hand and asked, "Are you going out with your mother?"

Before I could respond Sheila answered cheerfully, "We are going out to look at the city. This is our first time here!"

She didn't bother to clear the misunderstanding! Now one more person thinks Sheila is my mother!.

"Be careful outside. There are many dangerous people outside. Make sure to stay away from Girdon's gang. They have been causing a lot of trouble recently. The city guard is in their pockets."

Sheila nodded and said "I will protect Ren!"

Why would I need protection! She is clearly telling you to be careful…

Brenda just smiled as if that was an amusing joke. We left the inn after saying goodbye. Brenda didn't forget to remind me to play with Elsie before leaving. I could only nod at this point. Elsie was only 3 years younger than me but that still made her a kid and me an adult. She couldn't even join the adventurer's guild at this age. But I didn't want to bring this up since we were leaving anyway.
