"Do you think it is possible to train in these techniques without a basis within energy itself? Or rather, can energy be transplanted into an individual?"
All of the men and women in the room looked at each other, "We don't know…" one of them spoke up after a while of thought.
Sci wasn't surprised by this, in most senses, he was a foreign being.
"Do you have criminals on this planet?" Sci was debating several things, but regardless he needed subjects to work with.
"In a world so large as this? How could we not" A burly man asked eyeing Sci deeply.
"I'll be straight forward…I need some of them, as they are criminals I wish to understand them."
Everyone at the table understood what he meant by 'Understand' but for some reason didn't object.
The leader waved his sleeve and a servant ran off, half an hour later the servant came back and handed a list to Sci. He looked down the list, and chose 15 different criminals with various affinities and aspects.
"What will you trade us for them?" The leader asked with a sly grin.
"I have a profound technology on hand in fact…" Sci pulled out a small box and set it on the table, his hands danced around it at speeds that even the elders couldn't follow with their eyes. They all gasped at this speed that was at the same time beyond precise. For Sci to be able to control his strength to not break the device, and yet be light enough to hit a series of switches was beyond anything they could perform.
Respect slowly fed into their hearts, and yet at a deeper level curiosity to who this man before them truly was.
After a while, Sci stopped and a little gate opened up above this small box. He reached his hand through the small gate or opening and retrieved several things.
One was a small device that was rectangular in shape, while another had a strange antenna coming from it.
"Is that a spatial container?" The leader asked looking over the box and its pitch opening hovering above it.
"Why yes…it is?" Sci looked at the man curiously with a smile.
"We have those too…" He pulled out a cloth bag that was purple colored, he pulled a draw string and reached his hand into the bag before drawing out a long blade as if to prove it was larger within as well.
"Oh my…" Sci held his hand out, taking the bag from the man as he studied it with his eyes. He could see down to a molecular level, and thus as his eyes looked over the bag he became aware that no source was powering it. It merely was a cloth bag, but in the back of his mind he sensed some profound understanding was driving this mere cloth bag to have the ability to warp items into a demi plane.
The small box was indeed a spatial device, but it worked by compressing space inside of itself. It took him a very long time to create this stably, and allow things to be transported in and out of the inner space of the box without being destroyed.
"What is it that you offer then?" The leader asked look at the small rectangular device in his hand while someone else studied the other device.
"Leave this place…and go as far as you want away" Sci said to him while looking at the other device.
"Hmm…" He took the rectangular device and left along with it. He flew for several minutes until he was a hundred or so miles up into the sky looking down.
Seconds later he felt a buzz, and held up the device in his hand. On its surface, he could see the other elders faces looking at him and the view shifting as they passed around the device on Sci's side.
Sci took the device and looked at the man through it, "This works at a distance of relatively…anywhere. Doesn't matter what side of the world you are on, and if there is a gate leading to where I am that is open…I will be able to speak to you with this device easily. We can share images, and it is self-sustaining in power and will never die…it has several other uses as well. I will let you have fun exploring those though…worry not, I will be back in a while and we can decide on more things. This is merely a communication device…"
The man nodded while stroking his chin, "Alright Mr. Immortal, I shall see you when you come back…" The screen went black after that, and by the time the man came back Sci was already gone with the criminals.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This all lead to the current bottle neck of knowledge. Regardless of the intentions, and regardless of the outcome Sci continued to analyze the prisoners before they began to mutate. He copied their physical structures, and had them proceed to do every possible action they could at their current foundation.
He watched as fire balls sailed through the air against walls, before the man who emitted them fell to the ground devoid of the energy he had within his body.
"Energy is not open amongst universes…note that after depletion, that subject falters and loses great amounts of cells with the immune system…circulatory system…" Miranda followed several notes in detail as they were spoken and also included several graphs to show deviations in the subject.
"Strap him down immediately, watch for current developments and then bring in the next subject from their universe…" Sci left to a secondary lab and stood before a massive cylinder.
"GAHHH" A man was screaming behind a meter thick bullet and blast proof glass as he punched and wailed. He was going through tremendous pain, and yet neither Sci nor Miranda gave him any treatment for the pain. It had to be recorded, and although dark these men were unworthy of such treatment in the first place for the actions on the other world.
"Sir…subject is currently beginning transformation. The mutations seem to be deviating with the trace amounts of energy still dormant in their cells and body." James spoke in his usual light British accent: A bit more robotic then Miranda's.
"Thank you James…" Sci watched as the muscular system on the man writhed and changed grotesquely. This was no different than other life forms he had brought, but his brows slowly furrowed as the mutation continued.
"Physical structuring seems to deviate towards the previous subject's affinity and potential…note each of the patterns of the crystals forming on his body, there are no material forms present to be converted into them. The energy dormant in the cells that were previously earth related is changing into matter."
It was true, this subjects previous affinity was for crystals which was a deviation of combining earth and minerals. He was one of the non-pure line subjects that had been brought in, or rather an outlier to the main pure element branches such as solely fire or water.
"Glass case is incapable of containing his size…I recommend that you stand back a bit." James was mostly definitely unafraid of the creature forming in the glass cylinder, and he intelligently could deduce from many previous occurences that Sci wasn't in any danger either. However, if the creature was angered and broke equipment it was an irrelavent action in his eyes. He didn't want to have to fix something and thus was minimizing the surrounding damage.
"Transfer him to cell 7" Sci smiled to James, who in turn nodded contently and smiled back.
Cell 7, which was 1 of 42 massive facilities used for weapon testing, was one of the largest. Sci had made these long ago for this purpose, and in fact Cell 1 which was the smallest was used as testing for the subjects and their energy emissions.
The cylinder disappeared into the floor, and so too with it Sci. James rematerialized in Cell block 7 but Sci was already there waiting.
"Took you long enough heh" Sci smiled for once in a very long time. James knew that he had finally found something he couldn't understand and in turn had something to pursue within his immortality. He still tried to see if he could kill himself for "Shits and giggles" every once in a while on the anniversary of his immortalities birth but it of course never worked.
About a minute later a glass cylinder flew up from the floor, disconnecting from the rail it rode it flew into the air and landed on the ground with a loud bang. The floor wasn't dented in the slightest though, as its alloy was made of the rarest in the universe as well as several other planes that Sci had travelled to.
"ROARRR" A creature continued to smash against the glass with its body, slowly becoming so large that the glass cracked and shattered outwards in a burst. James watched as a large piece of glass flew straight towards him, and then passed through his body without incident.
"He seems to have retained some amounts of intelligence sir" James spoke matter of factly.
"Let us see then James" Sci smiled at him before turned to the creature lumbering out over the glass.
The subject from before looked nothing as it did previously. His body was covered in crystals, and was like that of a silver back ape with the exception that he was the size of a house. The crystals shook and slivers shattered off as the creature flexed the muscles hidden deep beneath its outter exo skeleton of greenish glass like crystal.
"AGHHH" It screamed with rage and began to lumber across the ground, picking up speed and screaming.
"Oh my son…do not fret, for I am here…" Sci spoke softly, but James turned to him with a slight sadness on his face.
'Oh Sci…you are so lonely…'
The creature reared its arm back and struck forward causing friction in the air to be created as a punch at mach speeds sailed towards Sci who in turned opened his arms wide and closed his eyes.
*crkk*
'BOOM'
The punch directly struck Sci in the body, causing crystal shards to fly everywhere. The creature looked down at its mangled hand, and the body of the man who stood with his arms wide still before it.
"Rooar…" it was going to yell to the air again when it saw Sci's eyes slowly open and look into its own. It quited down, and slowly began to back up as it kept its eyes drawn on him. It held its mangled arm with the other hand, and when it backed up against the wall of the complex thousands of feet away it slumped to the ground with many grating sounds in its wake.
'Do not be afraid…trust me, you have gone through great pain…but you can be free here at least.' Sci's voice entered the creatures mind, it sat a little deeper into the ground as best it could and kept its eyes on him.
"Display zones…" Sci spoke softly to James next to him. James nodded and waved his arms, in front of the creature many displays came into existence showing different terrains and places. Other creatures could be seen moving in those places as well, it slowly drew its good hand up and pointed to a mountainous area before pulling its hand back.
"Good choice…" James said as he waved for the creature to follow it. It slowly got up from the ground and followed James through a large door, but it never kept its eyes off of Sci. It never kept its eyes off its god, and devil.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sci reviewed each of the subjects that came in through the gate, and each he sent off through the base and out onto the planet. He never planned on killing the subjects after they changed, he merely made space for them to roam or move freely out in the world. In fact some of the displays showed different planets, this one wasn't merely the only choice. He usually chose very specifically those that resided on the origin planet of the previous earth.
