Chapter 4

5 years later...

A handsome young man could be seen hiding in the vicinity of the gate of the azure dragon school, if one saw more clearly the young man could be seen observing a scene at the gate.

An outer court disciple could be seen who was being pressured by a woman who wished to enter into the sect grounds after the gates had been closed. The handsome young man observed the scene with no twitch in hues eyes as if he had seen such a scene many times in the past. A beautiful young woman with the robes of an inner court disciple could be seen walking towards the scene with a cold glare. As the woman saw the inner court disciple she panicked and ran off. The two people then conversed for a bit, the girl then passed a saint spirit grass to the boy and left the scene.

The young man watching the event looked at the sky and sighed with melancholy.

"So it has begun.. Huh....."

The young man sighed again as he watched the other young man walk off from the gate and came out of the place he was hiding.

As the shadows covering the young man were lifted the young man turned out to be Chu Xuan looking at a scene he had known would happen but had no idea about the exact day of.

"Now that the events of the book have started, I no longer need to stay here for any longer since this place has no more benefits for me, the only reason I stayed here for so long was so I could keep Chu Feng from being killed or worse due to any ripple influence on my part since it would bring down the anger of an exalted and another exalted or higher rank cultivator Ron the lower realm, but since the storyline has now started I no longer need to worry about it"

The last 5 years had been very productive for Chu Xuan in the sense of increasing his cultivation. He had reached the peak of the 1st level of the heaven realm, an entire two realms above what he had assumed was the highest he could go in 5 years of cultivation. His divine body had a large role to play in this since he could absorb a large amount of energy from the surrounding space as well as he could pull energy from the small spatial cracks naturally present in the space of the ancestral martial lower realm.

The swallowing aspect of his divine body stopped energy from directly entering and raging in his body, his divine body acted as the mouth of a Taotie.(Taotie is a legendary beast in Chinese myth which has the ability to consume anything in large quantities and refine it into energy for it to use)

Of course it wasn't as powerful as a real Taotie as he could only absorb endless energy and store it in the poker dimension of his divine body. The energy inside is continually refined and is ready for him to use to refill his energy reserves or for his cultivation.

This allowed his to always have energy for his cultivation and he didn't suffer from having a bad foundation since the energy had been as refined as it would be in his body if done normally.

Chu Xuan had always kept a part of his consciousness separate continuously to keep absorbing energy even in his sleep. His main consciousness was completely separate from this fragment and thus sleep did t affect the working of it. Being alone in the void had given him an absolute control over his consciousness so it wasn't very hard for him to separate a part of it, the fragment didn't have any emotion or enough intelligence to do anything above absorbing and refining energy.

His main concerns in the 5 years were to become a world spiritist and train to fight with a weapon since he had reached a plateau in his strength with hand to hand combat for his cultivation.

He had searched in the inner court for all the information it could provide by sneaking in the martial skill library to see if he could find anything on world spiritists. What he found actually surprised him, since world spiritists created a space in their consciousness and activated their spirit energy to shape it into a world, it was a process he had already completed and all he had to do was access his inner world to gain spirit energy. He did activate his spirit energy as soon as he stepped into the garden he had created in the void. He almost felt dumb for not trying this earlier and started working on manipulating spirit energy.

He didn't know how exactly the spirit diagrams and formations were made so all he did was gain more control over his spirit energy and research into how it worked and making constructions and weapons from spirit energy. The novel didn't show how the spirit energy was cultivated but understanding how spirit energy worked apparently was enough for him to increase his rank from his initial white clock to grey and then from grey to blue cloak.

He was confident he could defeat anyone below 4th level of heaven realm with pure hand to hand combat without using any skills now after 5 years of training.

He had also selected a thin katana as his weapon and created it using spirit energy amplified metal to practice using it. His spiritual energy had the space attribute and could cut through almost anything weaker than he was effortlessly and even injure people 2 realms above so he could fight 4 realms above him if he used a sword.

His divine body was at the same stage as it was since it has been partially awakened. He couldn't do anything to it as he needed a spatial storm to refine it to the next level and that could only be found on the heavenly road to the holy land of martialism, thus he had decided that he would roam into the Azure province till he reached the martial lord realm and then head to the eastern sea region.

If he could find a world spirit guild in the azure province he had decided to go to its library and get his hands on all the knowledge he could get.

"Well I should return to the Chu family to speak with uncle and repay my debt to him so that I will be able to leave for my trip." Chu Xuan spoke and flew into the air towards the Chu family compound.
