Odyssey

Sensing the two guardians fall, Zeus's eyes shot in the direction as the speed at which they fell one right after another was far too quick. He could feel something familiar about it, something he couldn't quite place, but he knew he didn't like it.

Body crawling with lightning as he powered up, he zapped away into the clouds.

The thunderless storm that was raging earlier now began to crackle with lightning, countless bolts flashing as Zeus zapped down, reappearing just above the entrance to the sea of monsters.

Looking down he saw the remains of his guardians, just missing whatever to whoever was here that did it.

A water spout shot out next to him, forming into Poseidon, a grey long-haired, bearded, older man with blue sea eyes usually pictured with seashells and other sea life. Poseidon often holds a golden three-pronged trident. Standing at 6'3", usually shirtless with a pair of aquatic colored pants and a sea crown.

"Brother, you felt it too?" Asked Poseidon.

Zeus glancing over, answered- "Yes, do you know what it was?" He asked.

"No, but whatever it was, it was big and powerful," Poseidon said looking down at the remains.

"This matters not, they'll soon revive, tell me, can you track it?" asked Zeus.

"Yes," said Poseidon who began to scan the Ocean trying to locate it, only to frown moments later,- "It seems it won't be that easy, I'm getting multiple signals from many directions, whoever did this knows how to avoid my detection."

Zeus furrowed his brows- "How's that possible?"

"Only one way to find out, I'll go to one and see what's going on," Poseidon said dropping into the ocean to quickly travel.

Appearing once again at a decoy location where he found a group of devices swimming around mimicking the life signature of a giant aquatic creature.

Theoric flew the rest of the night to the nearest island where he stopped for rest. Surprised to find locals living there, likely the descendants of survivors who made it inside and chose to settle here rather than risking another pass in the narrow straight to go home.

All seemed well at first as the girls enjoyed the meet and greet. Everyone was very friendly having new guests which they almost never got.

They were even eager to share their abundant food, the Lotus's, their main staple.

Thinking it was fine to eat since all the locals did, Theoric was fine with his women eating while he did a bit more looking around first. He couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong, that feeling only grew when he realized the locals ate nothing else other than Lotus.

He found his women in a drunken state, completely uncaring of anything other than staying and eating more Lotus. Not wasting time, he healed each of them from the toxic effect before bidding farewell to the locals and moving on, not willing to stay in case the locals turned into something different come nightfall.

The next island he stopped at was the island of the Cyclops which he was happy to see there were more of them around, though they were most unwelcoming with one of them, named Polyphemus, even trying to eat them.

Knowing more Cyclops were roaming about, Theoric just flew above him making him look like a fool until the others came, where some were quick to make fun of them while others concluded that he must be an Olympian. After some angry yelling, boulder dodging, and talking, pointing out he smelled nothing like them by the elders who finally showed up, he was then allowed to meet and greet.

Thankfully he found a few like-minded individuals among the elders who were willing to talk rather than act like barbarians. Ones who still remembered their roots and where they came from and what they lost to the Olympians.

Not the trusting sort though after what happened, they dodged questions about Cyclops's who made it off the island to other places, saying they didn't know anything.

In the end, he was able to strike up good conversations and learn more about their story and left with their good graces, promising to help set things right and if he could count on them when the time came, however, they didn't promise anything, saying they'll wait and see.

As he flew to the next island, he encountered strong winds the closer they got until it grew too strong to fly, forcing them to land on his energy platform just above the water, where they walked the rest of the way.

Seeing a temple on top of the highest mountain, Theoric and the girls made their way up to go check it out. Trudging through the thick forest, they stumbled upon a few old skeletons of those long passed.

Exiting the forest, they climbed the rest of the way to the top since every attempt at flying was blocked by a strong gust. At the top of the mountain, they received a magnificent view of the island without any obstruction on top of this flat peak that housed the temple.

It was very clearly carved right out of the rock it was sitting on, even sporting art carvings of a man controlling what looked like the wind and depicting himself as an unstoppable god with all bowing before him.

Nina taking a closer look ran her hands over them, before quickly walking back to Theoric to whisper into his ear,- "This doesn't look good, I've studied gods and their temples, I haven't heard of a wind god before, and if these carvings are anything to go by this won't be anything good."

A gentle breeze blew by as they discussed things further.

Theoric rubbed his chin while looking over them,- "Hm, it's strange for an Olympian-style temple to even be out here. Thetis said something about Zeus sending the banished here which explains the cyclops, maybe this god was also banished like them."

Lydia- "Then why don't we go in and recruit him, he probably also has grievances against them."

Sigyn then patted her head happily- "That's a wonderful idea, more friends are always welcomed," she said putting a smile on Lydia's face.

Theoric seeing nothing wrong with trying, agreed before reprimanding Grani who was using his claws to scratch at the temple,- "Grani! get over here and stop that," Only to sigh as he looked towards Sigyn who giggled,- "Grani, you heard the man, get back here and behave."

"Yes Mistress," said Grani as he sauntered back to a happy Sigyn and an annoyed Theoric.
