Lifelong Work

Marcus barged inside Hazel's house with an anxious face. He spent 11 long hours in his private jet to reach there. He can't stop worrying about his sister during the long flight hours.

He entered Hazel's room in a hurry, holding his breath. But the situation was beyond his expectation!

He saw Hazel calmly sitting in her bed with her back leaning to the back support of the bed. Her lower body was covered with a blanket. She was reading some business books. She didn't seem to be ill at all!

Marcus stared at Hazel with a bewildered expression. What is this? He was sure that he received a call saying that she was sick! Is this his imagination?

He slowly approached her and sits beside her on the bed. "Are you alright now? I heard that you are sick; so I came right away." His voice was gentle yet anxious.

Hearing her brother's anxious yet gentle voice, Hazel was flooded by guilt. Was her prank too much? He looked so anxious and exhausted. How will she answer him? Will she say that it was all her plan? She can't come up with a decision.

"Umm...Mark, I'm fine." She can't come up with any other words. She keeps on pursing her lips. Her eyes were glued to her bed, didn't dare to look up. She was so excited about her plan; so she forgot how much her brother cared for her! He reached there within 12 hours! How anxious would he be!

Marcus keeps on staring at Hazel and examined her character. He understands what is going on. Maybe he falls to his little sister trick again! He was a bit unpleased about it because on his way there, many worse things crossed his mind. He was so afraid to lose her again.

For just one second, scolding her for her stupid prank even cross his mind. But he saw her guilty expression. Besides he can never raise his voice to her, no matter what happens! He sigh heavily. "It's fine, Haze. I understand and I'm not angry." He told her in a calm voice.

"Really?" Hazel's face lightened a bit than before.

"Yes. I'm glad to see you. You didn't have any illness. Isn't it?" He asked her. He wants to make sure that she was alright.

"Yes. Tomorrow is Janice's birthday and I wish we could celebrate altogether. Plus I want to see you. So I came up with this trick. Sorry, Mark." She explained.

"Fine. But why do I have this feeling that you did this for revenge?" He knows his sister too well. From her likes and dislikes, to how vengeful she was!

"Yes. That's one reason too. You play quite unfair." Hazel said with a teasing smile.

"Then let's call it even." Marcus let out a light laughter. "But I think you'll thank me soon. My men even reported that a man came by last night." He teased her.

"Oh! Come on, Mark! Will you stop monitoring me? He only drive me home. That's not a big deal." She scoffed.

"Not a big deal? It's the first time that you let a man drive you home." Marcus stared at her as if he doubt her.

"Don't give me that look." She brushed him off. What's with her brother? He was always so nosy when it comes to Aiden!

"Fine. If you didn't say, then I'll call Aiden." Marcus take out his phone and call Aiden.

"Hey! Don't do that!" Hazel tried to take the phone from Marcus's hand. Alas! All her efforts were futile as Aiden already picked up the call!

"Hello." Aiden's voice echoed throughout the room as Marcus put it in a loudspeaker mode.

"Hi, Mr. Lee. Currently I'm with Hazel here in Korea. You know, this little brat trick me and made me fly all the way here." Marcus chuckled as he saw Hazel's expression.

Hazel was totally embarrassed! All her childish prank was exposed to Aiden! She can't say anything but keeps on glaring at her brother.

Aiden, who was on the other line, soon understand the situation. He was already asleep when he received the call from Marcus. It was almost 1 a.m. there in Korea and it was not the time to call someone and joke around on the phone!

But he really enjoyed the drama. He sits on his bed with his phone in his ears. He was really glad that Marcus was there for Hazel.

"Mr. Lee, I called to ask you about yesterday. I heard from my men that you came by and even led Hazel to her room." Marcus said with a devilish smile.

Aiden thought what he would say to make the drama more fun! He was sure that Hazel would be beside Marcus, anxiously. "Yes, Mr. Lim. I came by because your sister was so afraid that I would just leave her on the outside. She even begged me to stay for a while." He made up some story that would irritate her. The result was just as he expected!

"Hey! Aiden Lee! How dare you say that! You're the one who insisted to come inside my house!" Hazel blurted out. Once again, she has lose her cool due to Aiden. But she regrets right away as she heard his response.

"I finally hear your voice" was Aiden's response. Hearing her carefree voice made him feel at ease!

Marcus didn't fail to notice the changed in Hazel's behavior. He smiled and leave the room, leaving his phone behind so that the lovestruck fool on the other line could have some normal chat with his sister.

"You're an expert at making me lose my calmness." Hazel said bluntly. She was not pleased by the story made up by Aiden.

"I hope that could be my lifelong work." Aiden chuckled.

Hazel rolled her eyes. This man is a fool! "Will you be there at Janice's birthday party?" Hazel changed the topic but she admit that she was curious.

"Yes. Let's meet altogether at noon to make some arrangements." Aiden suggested. He was very excited for the upcoming gathering!

"Okay. See you there." Hazel replied. Maybe her obedience rate has risen and the stubborn rate was reduced!

"See you." Aiden said with a satisfying smile and ended the call.....
