GOING HOME

Three days. It's been three days since Arianna last saw Yago. It looked like Yago was really avoiding her, and she didn't like the feeling his absence was giving her. She was unable to focus on her work, and she kept checking her phone everytime to see if Yago sent her a message. Honestly, she and Yago have never been this distant to each other before!

Suddenly, Arianna's phone rang. She quickly picked it up hoping it was Yago, but her hope was shattered when she saw the caller ID.

"Hello, Jayden.... what's up." she greeted.

"Hello, How are you, Arianna? I've been missing you... Can you accompany me later to have dinner?" Jayden didn't beat about the bush. He mentioned his aim straightaway. "Are you free tonight?"

Arianna sighed in her heart. Jayden was asking him out again. She had been refusing his invitation for a while now. She felt like it's inappropriate to decline again, but she's really not in a good mood to play.

"Sorry Jayde. I've been pretty busy lately and I think I can't go out with you for dinner. How about tomorrow? Let's have lunch together!"

Jayden agreed and so Arianna finished their conversation quickly.

Lately, Jayden had been pestering her. Belle was locking herself in her room because of shame, and Yago rarely came home. Arianna's life became dull and boring!

A moment later, a maid came knocking on the study room where Arianna was busy tending to documents. She informed her Miss that Yago just came home. Arianna hurriedly got up and abandoned the stacks of document to see the man who just came. However, as she was passing her father's study, she heard voices arguing. Defeated by her curiosity, Arianna walked closer to the open door to pry.

It was Carl and Arabella in the room, and the girl was shouting angrily.

"You have no right to refuse. I'll send you abroad and that's it." she heard her father say.

" No! I'm not leaving! You're just sending me away because you want to get rid of me! You're going to take away my inheritance once I'm gone, right?" Belle was clearly furious.

" What inheritance? What made you sure you'll get any?" finally, Carl raised his voice, too. "And yes I'm trying to get rid of you! Aren't you ashamed of your scandal yourself?"

" I am your daughter! Why is that since the day you married Arianna's mother, you've been favoring her over me! It's my right to inherit everything because I'm your daughter, too!"

When Arianna took a peek from the door, she saw his father sneer.

"Is it?" she heard her father say. "Leave the country immediately, or I will disown you."

Carl's voice was calm when he said those last words, but it felt extremely cold. Did Belle's scandal affected her father's company so much that he started despising her now? In a way, it was like that. But what Arianna didn't know was that... Carl's words held a much deeper meaning concerning a secret that was kept for a very long time now. A secret he should've revealed a long time ago, but he didn't have the heart to do so.

"You're cruel dad!" Belle said as a goodbye before she angrily left the room. Arianna made a move first when she saw Belle coming out. She quickly headed upstairs to look for Yago. Carl on the other hand was left in the study.

Lowering his head, Carl pulled a drawer and took out a framed picture. It was a photo of a lovely woman wearing a bright smile.

"Dianna... I owe you so much." he whispered.

When Arianna reached Yago's room, what she saw broke her heart. Yago was packing his clothes. She stared at the busy man for a long time, before Yago felt her presence.

"You're leaving me..." she mumbled when saw Yago look her way.

Yago stopped packing and silently sat on the bed. He then waved his hand to her. "Come here." he said. Arianna closed the door and then walked towards him and stopped in front of the man.

Yago looked up at her face while wearing a sad smile. He then hugged her waist and buried his face on her tummy. "I'll miss you, Rian..."

Arianna's mind went blank before she felt the pressure in her heart. He's confirming her suspicions? Yago was really leaving?

"Where are you going?" she managed to ask. Through Yago's actions, she gathered he wasn't coming back for some time! Was it her fault that he was leaving?

"I'm going home." he answered while still hugging her.

"Home? What home? When will you come back?" she's really hurt. Yago doesn't treat her home as his anymore.

"I'm not sure. I'm leaving with my brother. Right now, he's in the hospital, and in a month, he's having a heart transplant. I need to accompany him during his surgery."

" What? When did you get a brother? What exactly are you talking about?" Arianna was confused. Weren't Yago an orphan? Where did he suddenly get this brother?

Yago let go of Arianna and again looked up at her. It was just then that she noticed the dark circles around Yago's eyes. Was he not sleeping properly these days? He must've been very busy. "I'll leave two of my subordinates here to protect you." he said then pulled her to sit beside him. He was about to explain the matters to her when his phone suddenly rang.

"Sir, there's a problem." as soon as Yago answered the phone, a male voice anxiously started reporting immediately. "The person in a coma who was supposed to give master Vier her heart suddenly woke up. We don't have a heart donor anymore."

Yago was staggered. It was an unexpected dilemma. Without a matching heart, Vier's surgery would have to be delayed. Now, he needs to deal with things himself.

Yago put an arm around Arianna's waist and then leaned on her shoulder. "Rian.... I'm tired..."

Arianna put her arms around him and patted his back as if to comfort him. "Yago, everything will be alright. You should rest first."

Meanwhile, in the study room, Carl received a phone call as well. It was an overseas call. Just when he thought it was just about some trivial matter, the woman on the other end of the line suddenly burst out crying.

"Rue, what happened?" He asked anxiously. "Did something bad happened to Dianna?"

" Master Reid.... madam..." The woman's first words weren't clear as she said it between sobs, but the next line left him shocked. "Master.... madam Dianna is finally awake!"

" What?.." Carl exclaimed as tears started running down his face. Was it true? Had Dianna finally regained consciousness? Can he finally take her home?
