Chapter 14

Lacy stood at the counter. Helping customers a few days later. She thought back to Jacob. She missed him, actually. She pushed herself everyday. Working as much as she could. She managed to find a house to rent. She was no longer living at the motel she found. She stayed at a small one bed and one bath house. She paid half her paycheck but she had to do what she had to do. Grace, the waitress she met became her best friend.

She didn't know to much about her nor did Grace know to much. She liked what she became in less than a week. Grace was so sweet and nice. Everything of a friend she once had. She thought sometimes about the past. Way before her dad became the way he was.

Across town, Jenny was back at school. She was joined by her best friend once again. Everyone was surprised by Jenny's best friend, Cleo's return. Cleo was on another level however, everyone thought. She was a bit of one of those sassy people then in another she was that smart, party, player. No one knew what she was going to do next.

There was pranks going around here or there. The best part is that some came from the shy Jenny everyone knew. Cleo broker her out of her shell. There was guys coming up left to right but Cleo's brother and Joshua ,Cleo's crush, put a stop to that.

Just one look and they turned away. Jenny loved every minute.
