Chapter Thirty-Two: Hold it Back

Warden and the man were followed by a few others as they quickly walked to the room of fire. They stood before the door as Warden turned to them.

"I'm afraid that not everyone could make it on this first wave."

The man and the others nodded. "We're all the ones that have become true immortals. It's only right we try this by ourselves first."

Warden nodded. "I thank you all for being here. Especially you, John."

The man crossed his arms. "I enjoy the universes. I'd rather not see them be destroyed."

Warden turned to the door as a sword appeared in his hand. "Well then, let's go in." He pushed the door open and walked in, followed by the others.

The crack in the wall grew to the size of a large man, and slowly split open, destroying the wall.

A large figure came out of the crack. It was covered in a cloak that made its face unseeable, and had torn material coming off of it, and floating on its own. It's arms and body were compressed by the material, although it seemed to be a choice of the being to wear it.

As it looked at its opposers, a smile formed under the shadow. "I told you the seal wouldn't keep me longer than one hundred billion years."

Warden raised his sword as the power the being gave off melted the room away, leaving all of them standing on an invisible platform.

"Well, it kept you back long enough."

The figure laughed for a moment before an old book appeared in his hand, followed by a pen.

"Let's get started, shall we?"

———

Alice flew over the continent and saw what the crusader said was true. The continent looked much more advanced, and she even saw barbaric looking muskets in the arms of some soldiers.

They were the ones in charge of the slave trade and breaking them.

Alice felt the feeling she felt with the girl swell inside of her again, but she ignored it. She saw a hooded figure commanding some of the soldiers and dived for them.

She grabbed the figure by the neck and slammed them on the ground. "Where is Micheal?"

The hooded figure struggled to speak, so Alice let up on her throat. "He's somewhere in the capital. D-Don't kill me."

"Where's the capital?" She slowly released her grip.

"It's in place of where the Stravos Empire's was."

Alice nodded and let go of her throat. "Thank you." She took off before anyone knew what happened and flew for a few hours.

She saw the capital, and was amazed what happens to it in ten years. 'It looks so much like a city from Earth.'

There were skyscrapers and even a few trains chugging through the city on tall tracks. There were asphalt walkways and roads that carriages strolled along.

The only things different were the magic and slaves.

Alice flew down and landed outside of the city, putting away her wings. She got a carriage of a nobleman to stop and climbed inside.

"My lady, are you perhaps going into the city?"

Alice nodded. "Yes. Shall I pay you in gold?"

The man got a disgusting look on his face. "Well, I-"

She got a large diamond out of the white ring and waved it. "Will this suffice?"

The nobleman nodded quickly and took the Diamond. "I hope you'll have a safe trip ma'am."

Once inside the city, Alice climbed out of the carriage and stood in front of a giant church. 'Micheal.' She could sense him inside, acting as a preacher.

Alice pushed the door open and sat down in the back as to not disturb the service. 'I may want to get to Heaven, but I won't interrupt a religious service.'

However, Alice began to regret that decision when she realized Micheal was just spouting nonsense, but she let the service end before approaching him.

"Ah, I saw you come in at the-" Alice grabbed him by the hand and squeezed it tightly.

"How do I get to Heaven's Gate?" She stared at him and a realization struck him.

"Alice! You need to apologize to Moloch. When you turned into a light show, you made his right arm disappear." Micheal smiled. "Why do you want to get to Heaven's Gate?"

Alice stared at him. "Why were you building an army to take to Heaven?"

Micheal sighed. "To destroy it. Ok, so are you on our side?"

Alice shook her head. "I'm on my side."

Micheal nodded. "Follow me." She went with Micheal into his office and he pulled out a map. "If you were to fly to this location in the north, and then fly East a bit from there, you'll find a strange looking cloud. It doesn't move, or shift in shape."

"Fly into it and you'll find a staircase. Climb those stairs and you'll be at the Gate. However, you'll need to have a lot of power to break it down."

Alice walked out of the office. "I have the force."

She flew towards the north and began to think. 'I've been wondering if that story Uncle Damien told me back then was true. Apparently it really used to be Russia.'
