Chapter 7- Gloria Lee

"Because I asked him too," I replied. Obviously, I liked him. I guess that's what people meant by love at first sight.

"Why'd you ask him too?" Mabel gave me the look. The 'I know you like him' look.

"Because I like him," I replied. I didn't have any shame when it comes to stuff like this. I am a very proud woman and I don't give a f*ck to anyone who talks trash about me.

"Y-you're very open about it," Zachary stuttered.

"Of course I am." I ruffled Daniel's hair. His hair is so soft!

"Can I put you down?" he whispered.

"Yeah." I got off of him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. To my surprise, he blushed.

"Knock it off! We actually have stuff to do," Mabel interrupted. She must've been disgusted by all the lovey-dovey stuff.

"Hey, at least I won't stay a virgin for long," I teased her. She'd been worried about me since I haven't had a taste of 'heaven' yet. With those words, I was able to get Daniel to blush again. He was just so cute of a person. How could I not love him?

I smiled and went to the infirmary to unpack our materials.

Turns out, their military very much needed doctors.

On our first day, we already had at least 20 soldiers stop by. Mabel claimed that it was because they finally had some nice girls here. I listened as she complained about being the only girl here but not having enough attention from the man.

"I just don't understand why the attention isn't like before. When I first came, I was surrounded by boys. But now, the men say that they don't dare to approach. Why?"

"Well, they might be scared of Zachary. You guys aren't officially a couple but you've already done it. If the guys try to make a pass at you, I bet that Zachary would get pissed at them. By the way, what are you doing here?" I asked. For the whole day, she had stuck by my side. "Aren't you supposed to do what everyone is doing?"

"Of course I am. But I don't get in trouble unless I get caught." Mabel winked at me. I sighed.

"How confident are you that you won't get caught?"

"Very confident. Although we call Daniel Commander Kim, he has the rank of a captain. Zachary has first lieutenant while I have second. Since I'm high up, no one's gonna snitch on me," Mabel replied confidently.

"Isn't that abuse of your power?"

"Yes, but this is the first time I've done it so it should be fine."

I was silent as I watched Zachary pass by. He had glanced over but continued walking. A moment later, he came walking backward and stood glaring right behind Mabel. That was it. He was a foot away from her and just stared straight at Mabel.

Daniel did the same thing Zachary. He walked by and glanced at Zachary and the infirmary. He also walked backward and glared at the same thing Zachary was glaring at. We made eye contact so I smiled at him.

"What are you smiling at?" Mabel turned around to see two very angry men. She immediately turned back around to face me.

"My, Gloria, what in the world are you staring at?" Mabel asked. She signaled for me to play along with her. I stood behind the counter so we leaned forward and stared into each other's eyes to avoid eye contact with the men. Although I did nothing wrong, I would soon be an accomplice to Mabel.

"Oh my, I must have been having illusions then. What were you telling me about your periods again?" To get rid of the men, we must talk about girl stuff.

"Oh yes. I forgot about that. There's something weird about it. Like seriously weird." Mabel gave me a sign that meant she wasn't saying stuff to trick the men behind her. She leaned over and whispered.

"I haven't been having it. I might be pregnant." I froze and absorbed the news.

"No way, how many has it been?" I asked. If she was early, she might be able to get an abortion.

"2 months. My stomach's been hurting like hell this two months." I sighed in relief. She was right in time.

"Alright men. You guys need to go away. This is a serious issue for us women to worry about." I shooed them away but they remained firm.

"It doesn't explain her absence today," Zachary replied. He grabbed her arm and was about to pull her away.

"Wait!" I hopped over the counter and pushed past Daniel. I grabbed Mabel's arm.

"She hasn't been feeling well these past 2 months and I just want to do some check-ups. Please Daniel. It's very important for the both of us." I pleaded. I gave Daniel my saddest face and could see that he was struggling to say no.

Mabel was also working on her side. It was easier to pull her closer to me due to Zachary's loosening of his grip.

"Fine." Daniel and Zachary finally left us.

We both sighed in relief. We could finally talk in peace.
