Chapter 8-Gloria Lee

"Ok. So." We sat down at a mini table in the infirmary.

"Let's have this conversation under the pretense that you're pregnant. Are you going to abort the baby?" I asked.

"No. I'll ask for a maternity leave to have the baby," she replied. Obviously, she knew that it was not the only thing she needed to worry about.

"Are you going to tell Zachary? Who's going to take care of it? Besides, you're a lieutenant. You're gonna need to be careful when you exercise."

"When the time is right, I'll tell him. Plus, you can take care of my kid. You aren't even that busy in the infirmary. I'll have this whole place be my kid's home. I'll tell them and then I won't do all the hard work."

I waited for her to continue. We both knew that it wasn't this easy. Seeing that she wasn't going to say anything else, I asked her the biggest question in our heads.

"What about your father? He won't approve of your pregnancy without a husband. He won't approve of your husband if it isn't someone with a rank of a captain or higher. So basically, he approves of Daniel. Oh god, this sounds like the 'Descendants of the Sun'. But that should be a good thing because the two get together in the end," I sighed.

"Well, Daniel is being promoted to a Major soon. Hopefully, both Zachary and I get promoted as well. That way, my dad will approve of him as well. You can help me too, Gloria."

"How?"

"Well, my dad will leave Daniel alone if he finds his soulmate so if you two get together, it's a win for Zachary, Daniel, me, and you. A win-win-win-win."

"I guess. But be careful. I have stuff to do right now, so you have to go. Good luck, Mabel." She got up and left. I opened my laptop and was so immersed in the medical reports that I didn't hear footsteps enter the infirmary. Although the infirmary is supposed to be filled with the doctors, I gave them a break on the first day so they could relax. Someone whistled and I looked up.

"Are you the new doctor?" A pretty good looking soldier walked in. Despite his beauty, I couldn't help but be confused by his vibe. At a glance, he would look like a playboy. But if you look closely, he would also look kind of innocent and sweet.

"Yes, I am. Are you hurt or something?" I asked. He definitely didn't look like he was in pain.

"I'm looking for someone named Sochi Lauv. She's my girlfriend," he replied sheepishly.

"Oh. So you're Adam Voball. I'll grab her for you." I left Adam inside and bolted to Sochi's cabin.

"Sochi! Adam's waiting for you!" I opened the door to see Sochi in a nice pair of lingerie.

"Looking good, mamacita." I gave her a thumbs up. "Now get your *ss out there for Adam."

Sochi hurried to put her clothes on and followed me to Adam. I watched as they left together and sighed.

"Oh how young they are."

"You know, you're still pretty young." I whirled around to kick whoever it was behind me but that person caught my leg.

"Careful," Daniel said. He gently lowered my leg and gave me his killer smile.

"You know, very few people are able to dodge my kicks. You, on the other hand, were able to even catch my leg," I complimented. I recieved black belts in all sorts of martial arts. Daniel really is something to be able to catch my leg.

"There is a reason why I'm about to be promoted soon." He was about to say something else but then both Zacahry and Mabel came running to us.

"She's here!" Zachary exclaimed.

"Calm down, bud. Who's here?" Daniel asked.

"You're motherf*cking fiancee Laura McKinley! The one from college, Gloria. That one!" Mabel grabbed my shoulders and shook me.

"You mean the Laura McKinley. The one who tried to-" I was interrupted by a shrill voice.

"Daniel! Where are you?" Laura shrieked.

"Motherf*cking hell," Daniel muttered.
