CHAPTER 30 PORTALS

"My friend, I have come to you because I want you to meet my master."

The giant dark eel was shocked that somebody managed to tame the proud thunder.

"Who is your boss? Surely he must be powerful enough to even manage to subdue you."

"My master is a human being named Shadow; he is the leader of a town."

The Giant Dark Eel was startled to think that it was a human that managed to tame Thunder. He looked at Thunder, scrutinising if it was really him.

"You don't have to doubt it; it is reallitme." Thunder let out a helpless sigh when he saw his friend's action.

"So what does this master of yours want to do to me?"

Thunder shakes his head and says, "I am the person actually requesting him to meet you. My master wants to conquer this area of the ocean. We already killed the Torpedo Shark and the Savage Manta Ray. Only you and the poisonous golden shrimp are the remaining overlords."

The Giant Dark Eel was shocked by the revelation; he never thought Torpedo Shark was killed. The death of the Savage Manta Ray was not surprising; it was after all the weakest of the 5 overlords.

"I'll give myself a day to think my proposition through, but know this: I am not the one who killed Torpedo Shark. You already know how powerful I am, but it is still not enough to bring down Torpedo Shark."

After warning, the giant dark eel thunder prepared to leave but was stopped by the enormous dark eel.

"Wait, are you going to deal with poisonous golden shrimp?"

Thunder nodded, then left. The Enormous Dark Eel was left deep in thought, then followed Thunder.

When Thunder got to the lair of the poisonous golden shrimp, he was dumbfounded to see many poisonous golden shrimp younglings riding in the back of Trevo.

"Oh, Thunder, you came. I was just playing with the kids."

"Aren't we here to kill the poisonous golden shrimp?"

"Yes, when I arrived here, I fought with her and bested him, but when I was ready to finish her off, I saw her kids coming out of the corals and started attacking me, even though their attacks don't deal damage to me. I was touched by how close their family is, so I made an agreement with her."

"What kind of agreement?" Thunder asks curiously.

"That she swears to follow Shadow's; in exchange, we will give her a territory that can help protect her children."

Thunder nodded and then introduced Giant Dark Eel to Trevo. After discussing with the poisonous golden shrimp and Giant Dark Eel, all of them came to the decision that they were going to meet with Shadow and discuss the future plan for the area.

When they arrived near the shore, they were shocked, except for Trevo, to find the beach looked very awful, like a tornado had blown, and the place was covered with sword marks.

Trevo then issues a roar, letting Shadow and Rey know that they have arrived.

Shadow and his grandpa stop sparring and look to the ocean. They see Trevo and Thunder, along with a huge eel with them.

Trevo nodded at Rey and crawled towards him. Rey then told Shadow that he would return. Shadow nodded and thanked Trevo for his help.

Thunder then introduced the giant dark eel and the poisonous golden shrimp.

Shadow scans the two of them and then decides to agree on their request because, with these two guarding this area, it will boost the defence greatly.

"The two of you can keep your territory as long as the two of you will not attack any of my subordinates. I am planning to build a village near here."

The two of them nodded, and they made an agreement. After that, they returned. Thunder also wants to go to the town and continue cultivating with Shadow.

Shadow told Thunder that he should just stay here and be the guardian in this area.

Thunder reluctantly nodded, even though he wanted to strengthen and purify his bloodline badly.

Shadow consoles him and says that he will be visiting often to cultivate with Thunder.

Shadow returns to town and tells Shelia to find the lizardman.

When the lizardman arrived, they bowed to Shadow respectfully.

"I brought you here because I have a job that only your race in the whole town can do."

The lizardmen got agitated, thinking that they could show off to the other race that they had a unique job that could only be performed by their race.

Shadow nodded and told them he would be building a huge manmade lake, and he wanted the lizardmen to be its guardians and workers.

The lizardmen's enthusiasm dropped; they were thinking that it was just manual labour.

Shadow then told him that he wants to build a stable ecosystem there for training water-type beasts, and it will also be the training ground for the lizardmen.

The entire lizardmen blanked out, then burst into cheers, thanking Shadow repeatedly.

Shadow then told them solemnly that he would pick the outstanding lizardman to form a fleet and be the guardian of the ocean that Eligan Town owns.

The lizardmen nodded and patted their chests, saying that they would finish building the enormous man-made lake as soon as possible.

Shadow then rested after sparring with his grandpa. He was exhausted and slept early.

Morning came

Shadow came to the Research Lab and requested Rose for a Portal Orb. He also asked how the research had been done. Rose gave Shadow her record book listed on the book, which was the successful research. They finished the book, which mainly consisted of professions. Shadow then told her to research the forcefield for blocking portal orbs.

After taking the portal, Orb Shadow brought Vixen and Glutton with him to his destination, Dragon City.
