CHAPTER 118 THE GENERALS

The soldiers from the other allied kingdoms have started arriving in batches. They release their powerful aura, not just to intimidate their enemies but also to showcase their strength to their allies.

Those from the Kobold and Goblin Kingdoms have still not arrived; the location of their territory is just too far from the battlefield. The only reason they joined the alliance in the first place was because of the fear they felt for their future.

"Hmm, is it just me, or is the human army much more menacing than in the past?" asks one of the tiger soldiers.

"It is not your imagination; I do not know what happened, but the human army seemed to have become more confident; unlike before, they are no longer exuding the aura of desperation," says the general of the Tiger Kingdom's army.

The other tiger soldiers are surprised when they hear this; they believe that this is true; they just cannot shake the feeling of bloodlust coming from the human army.

"It might be because of the rumour regarding the return of their king." Suddenly, the general of the Ten Thousand Snake Kingdom's army approaches their group.

"That king? The human that had achieved multiple impossible feats? The one that the human kingdom has been glorifying?" asks the tiger general in surprise.

The snake general nods his head. "According to what I had heard, he was so strong that just his aura scared the noble foxes of the Fox Kingdom; they reacted so strongly that they actually bared their fangs at him."

"What?! The Fox Kingdom dares to raise their weapons at the king of the human kingdom?! Are they stupid?" Startled, the tiger general shouted loudly.

Those nearby heard his outburst, and they all looked at each other and glared at the fox soldiers. They could not believe that they would do this to their ally who had sent help.

The eyes of the snake general flash with a cunning light, and suddenly, a powerful aura descends upon them. A ape with golden fur walks towards them. He snorts at the snake general and explains, "According to the foxes, it seems that they reacted so strongly because of their instinct as beasts; this just shows how powerful that human king is."

The eyes of the tiger general light up; he wants to meet this so-called powerful human king. He looks around but only sees the human soldiers, not their king.

"I suggest that you do not seek a battle against him; our king has proclaimed that he might be his equal." Leaving these shocking words, the golden ape turns around and returns to his army.

Both the snake and tiger general are in a daze; they cannot believe that the Golden Ape King would say such a thing. Even though the Tiger King is weaker than the Golden Ape King, this means that the human king is stronger than their king.

Their expressions turn solemn; the snake general returns to normal quickly; his face is still smiling, but his eyes say otherwise. The tiger general, on the other hand, does not hide what he is feeling right now.

Clenching his fist tightly, he cannot believe that the humans would have such a great king. Not only did he manage to build a kingdom with such great potential to the point that it invoked the greed of all the surrounding territories, but he is also as strong as the Golden Ape King, the one proclaimed as the strongest ruler in their location.

Meanwhile, the person that everyone is thinking about right now is lazily lying on top of a tree. Since he cannot meet anyone because of his powerful but out-of-control aura, he decided to stay put and use his connection with Vixen to record their appearances and personalities.

"Oh! It seems that other than the troop of the Kobold and Goblin Kingdom, the rest have already arrived; hmm, without personally seeing them, I cannot accurately sense their strength, but according to Ban and Lou Yan, the strongest army should belong to the Tiger Kingdom while the strongest fighters are from the Golden Ape Kingdom."

"Your highness, Queen Marleigh seeks audience from you," announces one of the soldiers. It seems that they are still cautious against the Fox Kingdom; even Queen Marleigh is not permitted to pass through without permission.

"Let her through; I also want to discuss something with her."

The soldier bows and leaves. A couple seconds later, Queen Marleigh is escorted by the soldiers to him. All of them know that they are no match against her, but they do not fear her; they will not hesitate to sacrifice their lives for their king.

"King of Eligan Kingdom, I seek an audience with you." Shadow quickly jumps down the tree; he waves his hand, telling the soldiers to leave.

"You do not need to put so much title on my name; just call me Lord or King Shadow," he lazily says, startling Queen Marleigh.

She expected that she would meet a dignified king with an almighty aura; in fact, she is even prepared to use the power of her kingdom if he decides to try and subdue her.

Right now, Shadow looks like a lazy and casual individual without the flare of a king. She is confused; if it were not for the sincere emotions in the eyes of the soldiers, she would have thought that she was just facing an imposter.

"Hmm, so, what do you wish to talk about?" Seeing that she is just looking at him in a daze, he is confused. He decided to break the silence and speak first.

Queen Marleigh snaps out of her daze. She is embarrassed that she had actually dazed off in front of another ruler; it's just that she actually admires Shadow. The situation in the Eligan Kingdom is something that she deeply seeks.

"It is about Vixen." Before she can finish her words, Shadow's aura changes. The amulet that he is wearing starts cracking. Realising that his emotion is affecting his aura, he quickly reigns it in. The amulet continues to hang on his neck, but looking at its appearance, it is clearly not far from breaking.
