Chapter 148: Guard the Coffee Garden

When she came out of Etel, Su Mianmian called Madam Wu to ask how Yimo was. Madam Wu said that she was resting in the villa's garden with Yimo in her arms.

She sat in her car and started the engine.

She was about to drive away when Ouyang Que called to ask about Yimo. She said that everything was fine. After hanging up the phone, she started the car again.

She headed home.

Far away from the mainland, in Cameroon, there was the sound of something being thrown. The servants did not dare to go near the castle-like house. They rushed downstairs with their things.

"What's going on? Didn't I tell you to send food in? What are you all running down here for?" a dark-skinned, middle-aged man scolded the servants.

The servants lowered their heads and did not dare to make a sound.

A young woman with dark skin walked over. Her long curly hair was wrapped in a blue scarf with a large circle pendant. She spoke with elegance and grace. "Dad, don't scold them. Give me the things, I'll send them in."

The servants gave their things to the woman and then left.

The middle-aged man looked at his daughter. "Kadia, listen to me. That man won't want to see you."

Kai Tara had tried many ways to make the man surrender, but none of them were effective. Therefore, he planned to use strong methods to force him to surrender.

Kadia put the things in her hands on the coffee table and grabbed Kai Tara's arms. "Dad, the reason that he didn't want to see us was because he thought we would harm him. We didn't mean to harm him. We just wanted him to stay."

Kai Tara sighed and patted his daughter's hand. "If he doesn't know how to appreciate us, I will kill him. It's not like we don't have men in Cameroon. Why are you worried about such a man who doesn't know what's good for him? Didn't Di Yake always like you? He is not bad. Why don't you settle down and become his fifth wife?"

"Dad," Kadia said, "It's not like you don't know what kind of person Di Yake is. He already has four wives, yet he still wants to marry me. It's all for your coffee garden. I won't hand over the coffee garden that you painstakingly planted."

Kai Tara liked his daughter very much. She was sensible. However, she was already 27 years old and had yet to find a home. As a father, he was really ashamed of her dead mother. If this kid that he picked up could become his son-in-law, that would be great.

But he knew that the boy would not agree to his request so easily, so he could only slowly grind it out.

Lu Xiangdong sat on the bed and leaned his head against the wall expressionlessly. He had been missing for a few months, and his servants had yet to find him. His leg had been seriously injured in the car accident, and had only just healed.

He knew that Kai Tara had deliberately prevented the doctor from completely healing his leg so that he could not escape.

While he was thinking, the door opened and someone walked in.

Lu Xiangdong knew that it was Kadia. She was a kind woman, but he could not marry her. He already had a wife. If he guessed correctly, Mianmian would have already given birth to his child.

Although Cameroon practiced polygamy, he still did not want to marry her.

However, in the face of his rejection, she still greeted him with a smile and gently prepared everything for him.

"Are you feeling better today? I brought you some food. Have a taste."

His voice was slightly cold as he said, "Let me go. I can give you anything you want, even a man."

It would be easy to find a man for her.

She looked stunned for a moment before she smiled and said, "Stop joking. I want to marry you to protect my father's coffee garden. I just don't want my father to be sad."

Lu Xiangdong shook his head. "Then you're taking a risk by marrying a man who doesn't even like you. Do you want to protect the coffee garden? I can help you, but I have to fix my leg."

"Don't be silly. Di Yake is an ambitious man. Once he takes a fancy to something, he won't let it go easily. His power and position in Cameroon would exceed your imagination." She was telling the truth. If Di Yake was so easy to deal with, she wouldn't have to suffer to marry him.

Lu Xiangdong frowned. "Even if it's difficult to deal with, I have to give it a try. Do you really want to marry me? I already have a wife and a child. I won't betray my wife and marry another woman."

Kadia was a little envious of his wife. If she had a man who loved her so deeply, she would follow him without hesitation.

She nodded. "I will trust you for the time being. I will get someone to look after your leg for you, but you have to fulfill your promise and help me protect the coffee garden."

The corners of Lu Xiangdong's mouth curled up. He ran a large company. A coffee garden would be easy.

After listening to his daughter's suggestion, Kai Tara felt that something was not right.

"If you let someone cure his leg, he might run away." Kai Tara was a very cautious man, not to mention that he had risked his life to save Lu Xiangdong. He had spent a lot of money while treating his leg. He did not want to suffer any losses.

Kadia could understand her father's concern, but she knew that he was not an ungrateful man.

She thought that he deserved a chance. Maybe he could save the coffee garden.

"Miss Kadia, where is the patient you want me to see?" A doctor entered the room with her. Kadia said very carefully, "He's a friend of mine. Please cure him. Also, don't tell anyone about this, okay?"

He nodded, not knowing whether the patient was a man or a woman.

The doctor had always liked Miss Kadia, but he knew that he was not worthy of her. He had also heard that Di Yake wanted to take Kadia for himself. He got very angry when he heard this. Di Yake was scum. Whenever he saw a good-looking woman, he would take her as his wife. He already had four wives, yet he still wanted to have sex with Kadia. This kind of scum really did not deserve to live in this world.

How could he, En Ye, ever compete for her?

Kadia did not know about En Ye's feelings towards her. She had always helped him as a friend. She knew that he was very good to her, but she had never thought of him in a romantic light.

When En Ye pushed the door open, he was stunned to see a handsome man sitting on the bed. He was even more beautiful than Di Yake.

Lu Xiangdong felt a slightly hostile gaze directed at him. He turned around to see a rough-looking man standing at the door.

Kadia quickly introduced him to En Ye. "This is my friend. His leg is seriously injured. Go in and see if he can be cured."

En Ye pulled back his thoughts and walked in with the medicine box. He avoided Kadia's gaze. When he squatted down to check on his injury, he pinched Lu Xiangdong's leg and said through gritted teeth, "Who are you? Why are you in Kadia's room? I know her very well."

Lu Xiangdong glanced at him. He must have felt that there was something between him and Kadia.

"We are friends. If you like her, you should tell her and not secretly fall in love with someone else."

En Ye suddenly stood up and said to Kadia, "His leg is almost crippled. There's no need to save it."

"What?" Kadia's eyes widened. She grabbed his arm and said excitedly, "En Ye, don't give up! You're such a good doctor. You can definitely save him."

En Ye had deliberately said that because he hated that Lu Xiangdong had understood his true intentions. This man was more difficult to deal with than he had imagined.

Lu Xiangdong crossed his legs and put his hands behind his head indifferently. Anyone could see that this man did not want to save him.

En Ye could not bear to see her looking so sorrowful, so he sighed, patted her hand, and tried to comfort her. "Don't worry. Although I cannot save his legs, I can use other folk remedies. Maybe I can cure him another way."

"What folk remedies?"

"Acupuncture." He assumed that Lu Xiangdong was afraid of needles.

Lu Xiangdong was not afraid of acupuncture at all.

En Ye packed his things and Kadia sent him to the door. He waved at her and left reluctantly.

After leaving the castle, En Ye unexpectedly bumped into Di Yake, who was hugging his wives and blocking his way.

"En Ye, is Kadia sick?" He withdrew his hand and walked towards En Ye, leaving his wives behind.

En Ye hated him. He was a lazy, rich second-generation kid.

"How would I know if you ask me?"

He was about to leave when Di Yake grabbed his collar and pulled him back. He patted En Ye's face and threatened, "You dare to argue with me?"

En Ye pushed him away and tidied up his clothes. He snorted and said, "Young Master, I don't have as much free time as you do. I have to rush over to see someone else. If you have nothing to do, you should bring your wives back."

Di Yake raised his head and laughed loudly. "En Ye, are you envious that I have so many wives? How about this: I'll reward you with a wife."

He pushed one of his wives in front of him and laughed. "My wife is inferior compared to Kadia. If one is not enough, I can give you two or three more."

He pushed all the women in his arms in front of En Ye and demanded that he choose one.

En Ye glared at him. What did he think of his wives?

The women smiled and pounced on En Ye.

"En ye."

"En ye."

The women called his name like wolves, but he pushed them away.

"Thank you for your kind intentions, Young Master. I think I really don't have the fortune to enjoy it. You should keep these beauties for yourself."

Faced with his rejection, Di Yake was not angry. Instead, he smiled and walked towards him.

"I know that you have been thinking about Kadia, but do you really think that Kadia will like a poor boy like you? Without money or power, will she want you?" He patted his shoulder and pretended to be kind.

En Ye raised his head and glared at him.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm going to look for Kadia now. I'm going to ask her out for a ride and marry her next month." Di Yake smiled sinisterly, turned around, and left.

En Ye clenched his fists. He wished that he could punch Di Yake's teeth out.

"Kadia, I'm here to see you. Come out quickly!" Di Yake stood downstairs with his wives around him.

Kai Tara almost spat out a mouthful of tea when the servant told him that Di Yake had brought his wives to look for Kaida.

Kai Tara put down his tea. "Go and call Kadia down. What does this kid want?"

The servant quickly ran upstairs to call Kadia.

"Miss, Di Yake is here to look for you. Hurry down," the servant shouted anxiously from outside her door.

Kadia stood up slowly and said to the servant, "Tell him to wait."

Lu Xiangdong glanced at Kadia. "What is he doing here? Is he here to rob the coffee garden?"

She shook her head. "Although he is not a good person, he wouldn't rob the coffee garden. The Kai family still hold status in Cameroon."

"Then you be careful." Lu Xiangdong stretched out his leg.

He didn't know Di Yake very well, so he decided that he would investigate his background after his leg recovered.

She pushed the door open and went out.

Di Yake stared at Kadia with lecherous eyes. "Kadia, I haven't seen you for a few days. You're getting more and more beautiful. You must not know how much I miss you."

"Really? My opinion is the opposite of yours. After having not seen you for a few days, I see that you're getting uglier. Did you play with your wives and break your kidneys?"

He walked up to her with an evil smile, lifted her chin, and said, "I'll keep my kidneys and play with you slowly."

"Your wives aren't dead. They'll be jealous." As she said that, she glanced at the women behind him.
