The cat peered at me, squinting it's eyes as it emitted a dark smoke. This smoke... the same choking presence as in the dream.
I felt it reach into my lungs and squeeze. I tried to gasp for air to no avail. my vision fading with every heartbeat.
I woke up in my bed. Groggily, I sat up, my head pounding. I looked to the chair where the cat had been the night before. It was gone. I sat up and felt my heart stop.
Staring at me was a man, six feet tall with broad, muscular shoulders, striking golden eyes and hair as black as a night sky with no stars.
I let out a shrill scream as I stumbled my way back onto the bed and fell, hitting my head on the floor as I landed on the ground, the other side of the bed.
The man did not look like he was going to do anything. He merely stood there, a blank look on his face. He took a single step forward and peered over the bed at me. I looked down and saw I was in my nightgown. I covered myself the best I could and looked at him with widened eyes, blushing slightly.
"does your head hurt?" He inquired playfully.
