A moment for Life

"May we please leave?" dad asked. He didn't even bother to answer the officer's questions.

"Yes… yes… please have my card, if you would like to pass on some relevant information.

"I'll take that… thank you." He said

We turned around facing the gate. I could not leave, without hugging her one more last time. Memories of last night's scene kept on repeating on my mind, as they were on play back, the drum beat of my heart, would beat with so much Joy and filled with love, I could feel the love running through my veins to the mind. I closed my eyes, to feel the warm heart of my love for her.

"Are you ok?" asked dad.

"Yeah… I'm ok, please wait for me… I'll be right back!"

"Oh... ok," he said.

I went back to her, as I've exchanged car keys with pops.

"Hey… here… use my car, for anything you would like to do, whenever you feel like talking I'm just a phone call away."

"Thanks… J.R… I'll do that."

She came closer and humble accepted the keys, and she gave me a warm hug. I felt like a prince, everything, I wanted I could get, no questions asked. It is true, when you wait upon the Lord, he'll give you everything just in time. My intention when going back to her was not giving her the keys but, was to hug her and tell her that everything will be fine just in time. But she turned to be the one reading my mind, and giving me the hug, Something I needed, something I desired.

I held back and went back to my father.

"Oh so you two are now best of buddies huh?"

"Yeah maybe or maybe not, maybe… even more." I smiled and winked at him.

"Maybe more?" he said. He began to be curious, suspicion took over his mind.

"Come on son… would you like to tell pops, what happened last night?" he had a grin on his face, he gave naughty look.

"Nothing happened pops." I tend to leave, but he had more to say.

"I hope you didn't get yourself into trouble now… didn't you?"

"Relax pops… I did not get into trouble."

"It's ok if you say so!" he straighten up his shoulders.

"Yeah," I smiled.

This memories of my first kiss, kept on repeating. Whenever I would try to think of something, they would just flash back.

"What really happened between you and that girl son?"

"It's nothing really."

"Nothing, doesn't explain at all, your glowing face, and you keep on smiling to yourself, like a mad person… huh, huh something is up." This old man was serious, he really wasn't going to let go.

"Pops, I'm tired… ok… I just want to rest that's all."

"Ok, I'll leave you to it, but you are on watch."

"Oh my God, Pops are you even going to let go?"

"I'm listening… come on, out with it."

"Wow, Dad like really now?"

"Son… you came crawling into my office, asking me how I proposed to your mom…" he started acting up.

"…Dad please, You are exaggerating "

"… and now, you don't want to give me, feedback,"

"Ok, dad, we kissed that's all!"

"Oh… that only?... any ways that's a good start!" he was disappointed somehow but proud at the same time.

"Thanks."

"Tell me what really happened?"

I felt shy to explain in details what really happened last night after Lindy stormed out of the house. I admit I was brave enough to go to my father's work place and ask for guidance on relationships, was also brave enough to run after my crush. But I'm now feeling less of a coward, not to tell him what exactly happened last night.

"Pops I really can't tell you… I'm embarrassed to tell you."

"Why are you ashamed?"

"Because pops… perhaps you'll think or say that I'm a coward or a total looser and which it is."

"Son, I don't judge a book by its cover."

"Pops, I was alone with her… I was going to have my moment, a moment that i'll never forget, a moment for life…"

"So what exactly did happen?" He raised his one eyebrow in curiosity. My father was supposed to be a journalist, not a CEO. He doesn't back down.

"I told her that, we mustn't do something that we will both regret tomorrow…"

"Wow son! Um… that was brave, for some men, they would think that you are some sort of a looser…"

"… See what I'm talking about? You obviously think that I am."

"… I'm not done talking …"

"… oh sorry …"

"That was a great move …"

"… You think?"

"There you go again, busy cutting my lines…"

"I'm sorry."

"… relationships that are based on sex or normally start on sex, they don't really last, out of 100% maybe 30% do last, do you see the difference?"

"Yeah…"

"…I'm actually proud of you son."

"Thanks pops."

"Surely, on the youth camps, you do gain something hey."

"Yeah… they do teach us a lot pops… I actually thought that you were going to yell at me pops!"

"No… I wouldn't do that… just handle this your own way ok?"

"Yeah… thank you."

"You are welcome… now go and rest."

When mom said, it'll be a night to remember, she was definitely correct, I kind of taken her for granted, she is becoming a prophetess. I wasn't willing to go out with them to dinner but in the end, I ended up being on the same vehicle with my dream girl. I don't know when and how am I going to tell her that, I'm in love with her, from the first day I have set my eyes on her, I have never laid my eyes on any other women, never dreamt of having a future with any other girl besides her.

As I lay on my bed and rested, I had a wonderful dream, dreaming about her and I having that lavishing life, taking her out on expensive trips having the time of our lives. Showing her how much I love and appreciate her. It was such a short dream, I wanted to dream more, but time was not on my side the alarm had turned on it was time to go to school, I was too tired to get up, I lay back on bed and slept on I tried to resume my dream back but it wouldn't come back, all I dreamt about this time around was about she and I, having guest at our house on our first born child's birthday party.
