Gregorovitch Zauberstabe

As soon as he closed his eyes, he called forth for his future partner in crime. Strong desire made his will echo outwards and then suddenly, a whole new world appeared before him. A world filled with the spirits of what looked like magical creatures dragons, phoenixes, unicorn and the like. None of them seems to be paying him any attention though.

'Accio! '

He repeated in his head with greater will and alas the spirits looked at him with interest.

"Roar"

The sea of spirits split like the red sea as a mountain of a dragon roared. The dragon approached with great ferocity, exerting pressure and fear to all the spirits that surrounded it.

While all of this is happening inside his head, his outstretched hand is currently holding not a wand, but a black ring with a black gem socketed on top supported by what looks like a black skeletal hand. It sucked the magic inside Viktor like it's feeding on its favourite meal.

'A greedy one.'

"Eat this."

Viktor pumped more of his magic into the ring and began absorbing the magic present in the atmosphere which he learned when he began meditating. Magic particles bends to will, not any will but a strong will, it will only follow those worthy of it. Although there's a limit to how much one can absorb into the body, there's no worries as a hungry abyss of a ring is absorbing all of it. It felt like an eternity to Viktor, sweat dropped like beads and his body is drenched, but it was actually just a minute in real world time. When the ring stopped its feeding frenzy less than a quarter of Viktor's energy remained, although he can recover from it quickly he was breathing quite heavily from the exertion, suddenly, the ring vanished from thin air and reappeared in the index finger of his right hand.

"Beautiful... How much for the ring?"

The old wand maker was reeling in shock at what he saw.

"Old Gregorovitch, I was asking you for the price of this ring."

Viktor was showing the black ring on his right index finger.

'Where did that ring come from?' the old man maker thought to himself.

Although he did dab in experiments with other forms such as staff, rings, gloves, bracelets, and even swords, the old man was quite sure that he was not the maker of this black ring.

'It appeared out of nowhere. Did he summon it from the void? Ahh shit what am I going to tell him?'

The old wand maker sighed and took a box from one of the shelves.

"Uhhh..... Here. That'll be fifteen galleons for the wand the ring is yours for free."

Although it pained him a great deal to not be able to study the ring, it would be unwise to cross a master of a noble house and lose his life for it.

"That is a 10 1/4 inches wand made from the rigid hornbeam wood with a dragon heartstring for the core. A perfect fit for you as I see it."

The old man tried to hide his inner feelings from Viktor but how can a man who lived a whole lifetime not notice it. Gregorovitch is curious about the ring but was afraid of acting against a house master.

'Old fool it's good that the head on top of your shoulders haven't gone senile.'

Viktor didn't have to wave the wand around to check his compatibility with the wand he was given, he could feel some sort of resonance between the wand and his magic, this is of course discounting the fact that it was the wand used by the original Viktor in the novel so all is well.

"15 galleons. There you go. Thank you very much mister Gregorovitch. Now I must go. Further preparations are in order. If you'll excuse me..."

Viktor slightly bowed his head to express his 'gratitude' and left the shop.

"Golie let's go."

The two apparated and appeared inside Krum Manor. Viktor removed his clothes and asked the old elf Golie to prepare a bath for him as he became drenched in sweat due to the mysterious ring in his right hand.

"That old bag of bones Gregorovitch, thinking I could not see through his facade. Free ring my ass, it was never yours to begin with! Assign some of our men to monitor the old wand maker. If he decides to act against me then you know what to do with him."

Golie bowed and disappeared at once before reappearing.

"It is done master."

'I wonder where it came from and what it does. I'll have to check it out and find out how it ticks.'

He headed towards the training ground in the basement of the Manor where he practiced spells.

'Bombarda!'

'Bombarda!'

'Bombarda!'

Viktor found it weird to always yell out the name of the spell one is about to cast and spared no effort to practice wandless and chantless.

'My consumption is reduced by 50 percent with just the ring. I wonder if it stacks with the wand. No orb effects please. What the hell am I thinking?'

Viktor pulled his wand from its sheath.

"Bombarda maxima!"

"Bombarda maxima!"

"Bombarda maxima!"

'Wow! 75 percent magic cost reduction. This makes me four times more efficient in my usage of magic, meaning I can cast more spells.'

"Master there news from the ship. It is about Subject 3975 from the Alpha series."

"Alright we will leave after my bath prepare accordingly."

Viktor came out 15 minutes later in his adult form wearing his usual outfit, a pair of muggle sneakers, blue jeans and black shirt.

'The traditional wizards are simply tasteless and rigid. In the end Grindelwald is correct in thinking about merging the muggle and magic worlds as the continuous development of muggle technology is very quick. It is only a matter of time before the two collides and it will be too late if they acted late. The muggles needs to be regulated and controlled to some extent.'

"Gillert Grindelwald..."

Somewhere in the Austrian Alps 1978.

"For the greater good."

Viktor was standing in front of the Nurmengard castle gates gazing at the distant black tower who held one of the most notorious dark lord in Europe.

"The preparations are complete master."

Golie appeared and reported with haste.

"Good, we have three seconds. Any more and the old fag Dumbledore and his coolies might just bust our asses."

Boom*

There was an explosion but no apparent damage to the highest tower of Nurmengard castle. A few shadow elves then channeled their magic and a spell was activated and the upper portion of the black tower was gone.

Swoosh*

Swoosh*

Swoosh*

People emerged at the gates of Nurmengard, slack jawed at what was in front of them. They searched the area by apparating inside the castle but discovered no one in there. Not even a trace of the culprit, they must have prepared for a very long time.

"Albus, who do you think could have done this?"

Fudge, from the ministry of magic asked worriedly. It hasn't been a decade from voldemort's but now another foreboding event occurred.

"Hmmm I see.... A quick heist. What would you need from an old man like Grindelwald if not his knowledge of the dark arts. To answer your question Cornelius, I don't have the faintest clue. Whoever it was he was able bypass the wards I placed and delay the triggering of the alarms. Then apparate with the upper quarter of the tallest and most sturdy tower."
