Derek

A day later

"Help me, help me!" She hears to cries of Sergio, seemingly startling her awake from bed. The cries felt real. Was she alive? She shook her head vigorously, and blinked twice. She frowned, that was just her imagination. However hope was still high, she looked around. Though she did not understand why she did not feel weird about the fact that she was sweating so much that she had to strip down to her undies just to chill in the air conditioning. "Hopefully a good shower would do," she thought to herself, her bed having evidence of being soaked with sweat as she leaped out of bed and headed for the bathroom, just then, she receives a message from her wrist watch. She rolls her eyes.

"That son of a bitch."

After her long bath, she drove to the drop off point of the hospital in the city where Derek was impatiently waiting. It was one of the more upscale neighborhoods that had been fixed up after the war. The car screeched to a halt as Derek immediately started blazing about. Trying to assert dominance immediately after his successful blackmailing.

"What took you so long?" Derek looked at her impatiently, judging her in her yoga pants and baggy green T-shirt. Thinking how she would either rather spend more time sleeping or driving around in that ancient sport car of hers like a madman. "Look just get in the car, quickly get your items and then we will head to my office," she glares at him as he sat in the Mazda coupe. It was the last straw, no more bribing.

She blitz through the traffic in frustration, nearly getting a traffic ticket if it wasn't for a jaywalker, before finally getting to the junkyard. It's suspension going through hell on the coarse dirt as it came to it's destination. The place have yet to be removed of barricade tape with some of it already snapping off the corners. This incident has already lost the people's curiosity over the war. She thinks of Shao Lin, who has yet to speak her mind. However she thinks what she truly wanted to say is that she is really having doubts on their involvement in the war. She starts to inspect the remaining debris found. Most of the actual evidence and bodies have been taken away, but the blood stains remained. Derek quickly but carefully climbed upstairs to the two story house, taking the clothes that he had and other items of interest to him. Even though his shotgun was literally melted, he still took the extra ammo from his Bernelli. Sure it wasn't of use to him, but the security forces or maybe even The Supers may love it.

As Derek contemplated on what he is truly supposed to bring, Shane entered Caze's room where a large amount of goo still remained. The true ground zero. Right next to it was a dusty laptop case with the lettering 'Lenevo' without the laptop but an old but miraculously preserved receipt of the special order of both of the laptop and the bag. She remembered how Leroy told her that the chip on it was a Lenevo. "Damm..." she was speechless, truly impressed at Leroy's deep knowledge.

"Ok we are done here!" Derek notified her, still thinking about the case as Derek and her hopped into the sports car. By then it was already close to noon. Time flies fast. She drove smoothly through the now quiet traffic. As she approached the entrance of the superstructure, several armed guards flanked the car, pointing rifles at him, seemingly curious about the guy in the passenger seat.

"Ok who the hell is this guy?" A gruff man comes towards Shane questioning her as she shows him her identification card and badge, "Look he is important to the abnormal case and must be brought here for continued questioning." As the man looked at his identification card, he glances for a bit and nods approval. Lowering the shallow mount barricades and allowing her access to the staff car park.

As she drives down to the utilitarian and dull basement, Derek sees lots dedicated to the management of The Light of Men. Supercars such as Lamborghinis and Ferraris parked up by the lift lobby, all mostly paid with their fat paychecks. At the back, less than stellar scramblers, police cars, armored trucks and vans all belonged to the Supers and the police organization. With the team's van being maintained by the mechanics running about. She swiftly parked at a corner as she tap the steering wheel. It was a classic after all. Though she wonders how long this man would continue to sit by the coupe. She forcefully brought him up to her workplace, his wrists red to the touch as he hissed and complained, to her colleagues curiosity.

"Why is he here?" Baku asked Shane, questioning her decision. Everyone stared at her. The team was full. Saxon won't simply allow random people on the street to join the force, let alone The Supers. He would need to be trained for at least three years in a training facility before passing rigorous testing in order to just join the force. Unless they have special powers, a normal person is useless.

"Look let him stay, I don't have a place for him. Besides he still is of proper use for this case." Shane proposed as Victor and Sylvie looked at her skeptically, "In what way, sure he is physical evidence, but he is not the most important. Just ask him to-."

Just as they told her that, sirens blare. It wasn't the main siren for emergencies. But it was specifically made for their team on abnormal emergencies, they had struck an Energy Conversion Creation Facility. "You know what, we'll deal with him later!" Victor said as they rushed off.

"I'll guide you guys from here." Leroy smiled, his glasses glowing from his computer screen. Ready for a challenge. It had been some time since he had been on the front lines. It bothered him how sudden and weird the declaration was, let alone its necessity. Now he finally has the chance to truly kick some baddies' butt. Unlike his other colleagues complaining how it sometimes felt like they were bullying Sector B. Though he heard news of how those blessed with powers in Sector B were just as powerful if not even more terrifying than them.

"You are also grounded man!" He points at Derek who is now feeling grumpy. He was no kid anymore. He sighs as he slumped onto the couch.

"I'm accessing the controls now, the rooms and ventilation have all been shut. They now can only enter and exit via the front." Leroy notified the group as Victor quickly responded, still struggling to fit onto his special suit which helps him feel less G forces. "Teck Toph Industries really did their job." He jumps into the cockpit of the now armed and ready REVEL Type which was quickly sent to the catapult. The platform clamping its legs as it get prepared for takeoff. "Catapult is ready when you are," The air traffic controller replied as Victor answered, "Alright. Victor Garnier, Attec Speeder taking off!" The machine launched at speed, the G forces pulling him back on his seat as he takes off.
