Astray

How strange. Shane looked around, wondering how this strange sense of deja vu had happened. All mostly cramped up in the lift, stinky from sweat and dirt. Except this time, all of this was for rather ridiculous reasons. She probably was overreacting again, taking matters into her own hands and capturing people. All within three days. But then again, was his evidence real? Or had she gone astray just like so many times before? Destroying property and catching people. All for the sake of what?

She sighs as Derek breaks the silence, staring right into her with the same old grumpiness. However in his eyes was a renewed sense of determination, "What is wrong with you? You look rather frantic. As if all of this is wrong."

He crossed his arms, barely able to do so as his sweaty arms grazes Sylvie. Rather unappreciative of his sweatiness. He continued, "Look. I don't care what you are doing, but you gotta chill. Perhaps we can all find the answers later when we go up. Perhaps..." He glares back at Leroy, gulping hard. He then nods as he looks away. The scum.

"Well at least not all of us have to squeeze in the lift..." Leroy said, shrugging his shoulders. Still rather nonchalant about all the hints. All of that infuriated him. He looks back at Leroy with a large glare and several blinks. A code of acknowledgment. He nods again, raising Hanson's and Maximilian's eyebrows as he looks back.

"I seriously hope I don't use my last ability..." Sylvie thought to herself. She prays for Victor, hoping for his safety. Knowing his background of how he always wanted to be Super. He didn't needed to be part of a program. Just because of all the fame and pay. She sighs in dissent. Staring out into space, the large lift made things difficult. The space was almost flaccid. Hard to control her worries.

Alfred looks at her with worry. She could possibly have an outburst again. Hard to control then. But if it happens now...

As she becomes more worried, fidgeting hard on her nails. She feels a large grasp from the hand. Two rather, she looks back to see Shane and Shao Lin. All looking away, but all rather worried. Their warmth hotter than the heat. She calms down.

"A problem not to worry about, for now..."

Alfred thought to himself, sighing a large relief. The terror that happened that day did not happen.

The lift finally opens. The place rather empty and broken. Just as Shane had remembered. The place was an empty husk of itself. The lights were all out, melted machinery all still there with rather terrible odor. However unlike before, the place was not dusty. Rather, the floors had been polished with tape cut. Inside, two civilians stood guard. Zombies on the verge of starvation. They lacked any signs of life. Their skin as white as Antarctica, if it even exists now. The only thing that wasn't pale however was the black goo that were right on their necks.

They attacked, attempting to maul them. But their efforts were to be in vain. The black goo instantly burnt and taken to task. As the 'zombies' awaken and ran, rather amazed by what they were seeing. The group wandered through the rubble and gooey trails. A rather dark one.

They followed the weird trail, the place becoming filthier as they wandered up. Passing the bedroom, still filled with rubble, the rotten meat stench was out of hand. With a determined drive, Shao Lin opened her torch and lead through the halls. Following the dark trail staining the carpets.

As she walked towards the end of a corner, she was jumped by the sight, shaking her head and glaring at the group who looked away as she turned back. In front of her, the leftovers of a old woman, still in her servant outfit. She was pale to the bone, completely sucked out dry next to another skeletal husk. Completely unrecognizable. On the old woman's body. Many flies wandered around, all scattering to reveal maggots and ants fighting for a share.

"What did he do?..."

She shook her head as she entered an ajar door right next to the bodies. The black trail still gooey and bright. Without touching anything, they wandered up the stairs to a darkly lit roof. The clouds all around them in a hail of black mist. Through the thick, dark fog they finally spot him.

He was rather chill, holding hands with his wife. In front of them, the clouds had a face, it's eyes glowed with a bright hue as metal debris float all over the sky like a hurricane. Eating everything in its way as it's voice boomed at the duo.

"See! I told you that this will all work. Your assistance will surely give me what I want."

"No! This is not right at all!" His voice mumbled as he is pulled by a black swirl. The lady tries to fight it off, white goo surfacing. Confusing the group. But it was too no avail as she was choked back into another white gooey individual.

"You already agreed! Besides, you need not hide anymore, considering the people who are now behind you." The being looks away from him and at the group as Baku, appears from the back of the towers, energized from her wait. She immediately blasts at the being with acid-laced bullets into it's eyes.

"Don't!"

The being was rather nonchalant. Immediately blocking with some debris and eating up more of the world with darkness. Laughing at her failure.

The wind surged, many air conditioning units eaten up as it ignited two large black holes simultaneously, consuming them into the void. The group struggled to escape. Barely able to hide as the being threw all the floating items at them, slamming down hard like a hammer into the building.

"Hey Ken you and me!"

With a nod, Maximilian and Ken jumped in the air, quickly grabbing the structure for safety as they dispatches the rubble. Jumping and crushing the remaining air conditioning units like machine guns as they stood away from the ominous black hole. Igniting them into dust and melted metal.

Meanwhile Leroy quickly place down their canvas bags, as it's side pockets reveal large drills, drilling and attaching itself into the building. Opening its first zip up wide revealed several small missiles. All the size of a rubber as they shot out, igniting into a goo which corroded and broke down the rubble. A satisfaction to watch.

With a clearing and assisting fire from Ambar and his own creation, hidden turrets now emerged from his large flappy bag, Shao Lin immediately forms water from the pipes. Swirling upwards from downstairs and forming around her into a large tornado. Collecting all the debris as she thrusted it at it. But it was to no avail. Immediately punched back by a burst of air as Max catches her in time.

Hanson seeing the opportunity quickly fires a poison dart. His mouth still wide open, laughing as it tries to assimilate more of the world. But it was also as useless as it is blocked by rubble to his disappointment.

"You know something, from my previous experience, I was expecting even more from you all. Guess I underestimated... Now bow down to my will!!!"

It's voice boomed. Assimilating even further into the building as it struggled to stay upright. It's grasp on the duo harder than before. With a loud creek, Derek feels a large G force pulling him down.

"Not again!"

The building falls, falling back into several apartments. Shane watches as it falls closer to the ground, then they stopped.

She was supposed to be launching up into the air by now. Immediately fighting back, but she was being held by a tight grip. She looks up to see Atsuki and Verda, lifting the thing up like it was no one's business. Rather disinterested by it as they lifted it and everyone else to safety. Still filled with fire and trash.

It was a sigh of relief. But as everyone turns back, they were horrified to see the black monster forming larger than before. Consuming everything in its path. Rioters and anti-riot squads are quickly lifted away but it was going too fast. The duo quickly dispatched them further away as the assimilation rapidly increased. Eating up the area into a large black hole.

Sylvie watched in pain. The pain of not being able to help. She watches a family, struggling to carry the kids as they are sucked in. Their shrieks of help, all filled with a rather large sense of betrayal.

She sheds a tear as her veins glowed. The ground rumbled rapidly, frightening the group as her eyes glowed brighter than before.

"I have seen everything and all that you had done has lead me to think of one thing."

Her voice echoed as the wind calms. The place now rather still from the rage happening. The ungodly being, still holding the duo, laughed hysterically. Rather amused at the sight, as it calms, asking her as it still struggling to contain it's laughter, "What?"

"YOU ARE TRASH."
