They head into the checkpoint. The last thing that guards the border between Sector A and Sector C which had been erected after the war. Sure they got conquered at one point, but they weren't the ones responsible for the war. Ever since then, only diplomats and Supers are allowed to cross. Alfred looks on cautiously, still rather upset at how this country had become as the border guards walked on towards them. All of them seemed surprised as to why there were people from Sector A crossing the border, considering how the area had became 'dead'.
"Sir, identification please."
He passes his identification to the guards as they looked at the occupants in the vehicles, recognizing how most of them were from The Light of Men. Alfred looked at the men gathering with each other, surprised by their appearance, as one goes up to Alfred, trying to hide his thoughts.
"State your purpose being in Sector C," he glares at him emotionlessly. Trying to assert dominance as Alfred replied, "We are here because we are meeting with other members of the Supers."
"And who are they?" He points at Shane and Derek, both rolling their eyes. Most people don't recognize 'normal' Supers as the best hero for the job. Sometimes doubting the organization in their ability to defend. Especially with this new incident. Derek's case was somewhat understandable if he cared to explain, but Shane was just as capable. After all she did help out the others, asserting her role before the place was blasted to high hell.
"New recruits. You can ask Saxon in his grave," he gravely responded as the guards hands him back his identification card and let the three cars through. Atsuki's car standing out as all the guards came to stare at it.
Through the large number of pine trees, they arrived at a majestic cable-stayed bridge made gorgeous than the Golden Gate Bridge with the now setting sun despite it being painted in grey, overlooking the towers and the remains of the large weapon. Now a government office.
He is amazed by the amount of time that had passed. He lived long enough to see the 21st century and close to the 22nd century. He still remembers when he was three when the bridge opened up, allowing the two island to be connected. The country used to be part of Britain until 2030. Thirty years on, things hasn't changed for the better. He slouches in the comfy seats, relaxed in his electric Mercedes, placing it into 'auto drive' while sighing in relief as 'Blinding Lights' by The Weeknd played on the radio. A time for rest. Even though his work wasn't done.
He looks back. All the motorists seemed to be staring at Atsuki's old car cruising slowly down the road. It amazed him at amount of attention it is getting. Not even Ferrari's nowadays get that much attention. Even more amazing was how the duo managed to get the car to work let alone move especially at the sight of the faded paint and chipped wheels as the engine tumbled around what seemed like rust.
In the back seat, Baku and Derek were sleeping, relaxing rather too close to each other. Should he tell them? He shakes his head violently. It's too cute to say it now. He blushed, staring down at the timepiece his wife had given to him. He closed his eyes, remembering how his date by the park went out. He still remembers how she gave it to him as a kind gesture for helping her get on time for her exams. Those were truly his times.
He turns left to see Shane in the passenger seat, looking by a huge mansion by the hills. Sebastian's home. As they drove down to the neighborhood, they looked on at the worn out colonial houses. All cluttered with poorly paved roads and beggars looking for some assistance. The place used to be the wealthiest in the whole of Oflip until after the war. Where it is now associated with the evils of the place. Supers from other teams all claimed how it's large wooden and concrete houses with geometrical designs were hiding beggars and ex-convicts now beginning their second life and looking for shelter in the rather crude place. Looks like it was true after all.
As they carefully drive up to the top however. The place began to become more classy with colonial mansions and large bungalows. Wandering down the street were armed guards, not featuring leg boosters like their soldier counterparts but still heavily armed with a large rifle that seemed overkill for quelling theft in the area.
"Man, they all still liked the view." Shane said as she looked out the window. It's city was rather gorgeous with lush trees and metropolitan buildings. Though not as majestic as the original capital, Sector A, also known then as Gunhild, named after the contribution of a Viking family that arrived here peacefully after taking over Britain.
Amongst the massive houses, one stood the largest above them all. It had a faded brick exterior with round arches covering the glass pane windows. Lush leafs covered the beige garage as it's faded round roof hid away its dark secrets. Seemingly hiding the fact that it was not a mansion, but rather a castle.
"So this is the place huh?" Shane gets out of the car. Trying to remember what Tamel had said.
"You think that they will accept us?" She turns around to see Sergio, now behind her as Leroy and Atsuki struggled to park in the parking space, nearly startling her in the process.
"Dude!" She looked at her with alluring disgust as she giggled it off, continuing, "We will wait and see."
She pressed on the button as a loud chime echoed out of the house. Nearby, she hears dogs barking out loud.
"Please for the love of god stop barking... It is making me uneasy..." she whispered to herself, staring back at a black Labrador nearby as it whimpered. Losing the 'staring' contest.
Suddenly the door opens to reveal a tall, slim bald man in his 50s. He wore long trousers and a large suit. Though in his eyes seemed to be rather beastly determination, in this case, their reason for coming here.
"Who are you?" The man glares at them coldly and blankly, causing Sergio to stammer with the eerie silence of the now darkness sky covering their pain. Reminding her of a ghoul found in a creepypasta page. In his face was barely any sense of humanity or compassion. But yet it felt weirdly heartwarming. Shane looks up with hesitation as she broke the stale air, attempting to keep a strong face at the 'giant'.
"Tamel sent us here."
He looked at her with curiosity, before a small level of disgust, "Tamel? Him? My master didn't even contact him as of late. I haven't even heard of this name for over twenty years!"
He laughed it off, amused at the name. Shane did not know what Tamel did, but she hoped she didn't had to waste more of her time now that it is completely dark. The large 'house' the only thing illuminating the cold outside world. He continued, "Look don't bother. Just return to the HQ of Sector C, most of the heroes are camping there-"
"Let them in."
The bald man turns around to see the young man looking on at them. His face rather pale. But filled to the brim with dark hidden emotions. She can feel it, tingling down into the depths of her own despair. Probably from his father's actions then, causing him and his butler to be on probation. She still remembers it on the headlines.
"But sir..." he looks on at Sebastian with worry but he seemed relentless.
"They must have a reason for coming here. Let them in, besides it's getting cold."
With the butler submitting, he allows everyone to enter, though Shane, looking past his words only seemed to realize how stern he looked. She gulped as the gates closed behind them.
