"Just because our leader did terrible things then doesn't mean he caused this whole mess!"
They carefully sneaked through the doors at what seemed like a shared cell. Laid upon dull white walls and large wooden doors. The girls seemed to be on one end of the room while Harold sat on the other side. The scientist still seemed uninterested. Rather nonchalant as to what was going on. But maybe then they haven't realised since their cell was in a different tower, made only accessible by a bridge amongst a bright flash of light. They barely were able to take cover and follow the guards. Surprised how they were successfully lucky at their endeavour. Through the muffled screams of man outside, they noticed Harold yelling at the guards in defiance, his large wounds and deep scars infected and oozing with blood and a rotting smell, each wide enough to require stitching. However, not surprising to them, they could only watch as the large guards slapped him, knocking him unconscious as they hear Verda and Nemo, who was oddly in the same chamber as the mortals and filled with little to no scars unlike the daughter, screamed in horror.
Shane watched Nemo closely, looking at Verda and the scientists, terrified of her treatment. She looked as if she had just been brought into her cell without any knowledge of what was going on. But even Shane doesn't know what was happening and why they kept her there. She pauses, trying to not let herself jump into conclusions. Looking back at the guards who were now trying to punch him awake.
They gulped, knowing what could happen if they stayed too idle. Sergio hates having to do this, especially on the people they used to look up upon. But they had nothing to lose and had nothing else available. They barely able to have any mobility and any semblance of health. The torture they were going was not deserving of them either despite what many claim.
"Now."
They charged in, storming right at the scientist as they looked on surprised and in horror. Immediately taking out the guards as their eyes fall silent, completely unfeeling and sleepy. Unconscious but fine unlike the others. The scientist, who were holding a syringe seemed unfazed, immediately attempting to inject Harold with crude liquid as a loud bang echoes through the halls.
"I'm so going to jail for this..."
She doesn't know what the syringe contains but she isn't take any more chances. Watching in solitude as the man stumbled, falling flat on the floor. His blood splattering through the walls amongst other terrified scientists. Horrified at the Asian lady who pulled the trigger as they put their hands up. Their emotions running wild, unable to determine their fate. Verda and Nemo looked on surprised, shocked at the sudden change of attitude. Her caring but snarky attitude torn apart. Absolutely crude and uncaring unlike before. Although in her eyes, she seemed glad they were alive and lively despite the 'punishment' they had to face. A feeling they have never felt before.
"Please unplug them from their systems and leave. Don't force me to pull the trigger."
Their hands trembled, watching the nozzle closely as they carefully unplugged the wires and unlocked their cuffs, watching their every step. Their blood boiling, feeling the stress of their bones grinding through their flesh. Feeling every possible scenario of their fate through their head. All of which ended in their downfall. The wires hissed, angry that they had to let go of their targets and that they had to watch them escape, running past the scientist cowering in fear.
"Where is Lino?"
She pointed the rifle at the group, screaming in fear at the large gun. They usually would be forced to keep their mouth's shut. But at a juncture like this, they could only pray they aren't shot in the head. The group looked at each other, nudging about as they gestured. Gulping as they responded. Jittering and mumbling their words out upon the reckless girl. Still frustrated with her thoughts if his rescue was even necessary despite what he said.
"I last saw him upstairs around the same room... I have no clue... about... his... fate... alright? Please..."
They watched as she reloaded the gun, the remaining bullets fall onto the ground nonchalantly as led rang through their ears, listening fearfully upon each bullet as they watched her solemnly head out through the doors, away from the wreck they had just made. They looked upon in silence as they broken down, their tears muffled by the sliding doors, determined to finish it's job. In front of her the group gathered, still in bad shape but able to move as she silently wandered past. Giving the trio the cold shoulder. They have no clue what she was going to do, but they rather not talk, seeing how she mercilessly put down a scientist directly in the head. Something that frustrated Sergio after all she had done. Disappointed that she had to do this but understands the potential consequences that could result in tragedy.
"Look. I'm only saving you because of the methods they used. So don't think I won't pull the barrel at your head."
Shane whispered at the group, wishing they did not have to see what she had just done. But even then, her mind was completely broken. Sighing at her actions, her hands trembling and her rifle rattling about. She stood flabbergasted. slouching by the wall as they roamed along. What as justice? Had she become them? She could only watch in fear of such a scenario. She looks up, watching them all struggling to head up the stairs, each of them squinting their eyes at their obstacle.
Verda panted heavily, unable to feel her legs. She wished she had her powers just like before, but each attempt seemed to hurt her physically, weakened by the machine that held her down in the first place. She looks back, watching everyone struggling to move, all except for Nemo, her legs somehow strong as ever. But then again, she was supposed to be a slime, so she was made resilient. That was what she said during their time here while the madmen and women were away wasn't it?
She wandered up, the damage from her skin not even bringing up any feelings or emotion. Walking quickly undisturbed. Oh how she wished she had such energy... She crawled her way up, determined not to be last. But even then, she is still surprised. Though the corridors, no one showed up. Just eerie silence and the shadows which lurked about, playing tricks with her eyes. But despite this cleanliness, it only begged the question on his fate. She watched slowly, laying by her 'mother's' side as Shane punches through the door, only to be greeted with sighs and screams. Harold immediately fell onto his knees, breaking into silent tears.
"What... was... going... on?"
She looked on, frightened at their emotions as she falls to her knees...
His jaw was completely missing, sawed off directly and efficiently like a cake cut by a hot knife. His body laid still, left to rot in his cell as his eyes were forced awake. His limbs frail and his legs grim, completely swollen and beaten. Scarred from face to waist down. Nearly unrecognizable if not for his outfit and charisma he held for so long. His life and soul seemed to be sucked from him a long time ago, completely unable to get himself out of his iron cuffs behind him. Only able to enjoy his last moments at a window overlooking Sector C.
Shane shook her head. Disappointed at their overreaction. But then again, what the people wanted was kinda predictable. She knew he was someone people disliked, but even then, his death was brutish and disgusting. Not even fitting for someone of his size. With a bit of a heavy heart amid a tear, she peered out through the bars, attempting to keep her cool amongst the cries of the family.
It was somehow unguarded, only made harsh of an escape through large stones, each ready to crush their skull upon their fall from 5 stories into shallow water, filled with sand and trash from the neighbouring Sector C. However beside the hastily cobbled defence was a walkway with a speedboat riding about the rather calm waters. Probably still having enough fuel and big enough for everyone. On the deck seemed to be guarded by one person, although it seems that there might be two or more.
It looked easy for her, a breeze to complete. It was after all just jumping into the cold breeze, but as she turns around to look at Harold, his leg still oozing with blood and crying from her. She could only shake her head in disbelief.
"Guys... we must leave immediately..."
She carefully carried Harold up, watching the rotting man mutilated and in shambles. Brutally killed by his enemies. The only saving grace being that he is now in peace. Though not in the way he had hoped. He sobbed, rubbing his tears off as he give a nod. Hearing the doors shut behind them and a new chapter opened it's doors.
They carefully head down the stairs, still rather disgusted by his death and surprised by the lack of men guarding the place. Were they preparing a final strike? It can't simply be them escaping... They wandered cautiously. Looking at all directions for a threat. Shane looked at Sergio, rather conflicted and paranoid, turning her head aggressively.
"Stop right there!"
She immediately hears a scream, turning around to see a guards firing a volley of shots at the group. Sergio cringed, clenching her fists in pain as the floor was raised to form a wall blocking their passage entirely as they slid down to the lower floor, watching out for the electric bolts which fizzed about, sparks flying from the dim lights in the area unable to resist the forceful impact. It was destructive, but they escaped their situation with no guards at the level.
She breathed heavily, happy that her powers still hold true. Though her cheers were soured by cries from Nemo who held a lifeless Harold. His eyes in a gaze and his head turned bloodied from two shots. They had not made it through...
"HAROLD!!!"
