Mizuki was shocked at this turn of events.
Sure, the Hokage had given Mizuki's class the "Will of Fire" lecture on their first day of school, but aside from that Mizuki had not seen him in a whilst.
At this point, the silver haired boy was trying to reign in his emotions.
Although he was surprised yet again when The Hokage started talking to him.
Hiruzen: "It honestly is a shame that our hospital system is like this, I hope to turn around this type of thing in the near future."
Sarutobi a wry and slightly guilty smile on his face.
Hiruzen: "Don't worry about the hospital bill, I covered it for you"
The Hokage now had more of an older, grandfatherly smile adorned on his face, clearly happy at being able to reduce the youngsters plight even if by a little.
Mizuki meanwhilst, was thanking whatever gods existed for this opportunity.
He was afraid that he would be left behind by his classmates because of his injury.
Mizuki: "T-T-Thank you sir"
Hiruzen: "No Problem"
However, just as Mizuki was about to walk away, The Hokage called out to him.
Hiruzen: "Wait! I forgot this!"
Hiruzen reached into his back pocket and pulled out a cheque with mizuki's name on it.
Hiruzen: "It's a couple of days early but since I bumped into you here it's a good of a time as any. This is your monthly cash."
Mizuki: "T-T-Thanks"
However, fate was not done with Mizuki. Just as he was about to leave he heard Hiruzen call out to him one last time.
Hiruzen: "And Mizuki.."
Mizuki: "Yes Lord Hokage?"
Hiruzen: "..Next time try to take it easier to your training will you?"
Mizuki: "Yes Lord Hokage!"
Hiruzen gave his classic grandfatherly smile as he waved his hand and walked away.
That may have been the scariest moment of Mizuki's life. He honestly was not sure whether or not he was seen through although it appeared as if Mizuki had made it.
Mizuki still found the Hokage admirable though. Whilst he would later make some blunders such as letting Orochimaru go, in the end he was still human and tried his hardest to be amiable to the younger generation, even opposing Danzo and trying to help Naruto.
Looking out the window of the main lobby of the hospital, Mizuki found that the Sun was starting to set as afternoon was rapidly transitioning into evening.
Cursing at the amount of time wasted, Mizuki rushed to the grocery store to grab some grub.
Even if he did love Ichiraku, it was nice to mix things up and whilst Mizuki was no master chef, as a former earthling, he was still able to cook a decent meal for himself.
Around an hour later Mizuki let loose a relaxed sigh as he finished washing the dishes.
He made himself a good old fashioned cheeseburger for dinner. If nothing else, Mizuki missed the food of his homeworld.
Mizuki crawled into bed and (for once in his life) fell asleep early as he thought about what the next day would bring.
. . . . .
Mizuki woke up to his new alarm clock, the classic Obito pounding on the door whilst screaming at him to get moving.
Mizuki: "Damnit. Fell asleep early and still can't get up on time."
Mizuki tiredly got up and yawned as he got ready for the day and stuffed his bag full of snacks.
When he got outside, Mizuki was greeted with the sight of his friend nervously walking back and forth just outside the door of his apartment.
Mizuki and Obito then had their usual conundrums whilst they raced to school.
They arrived ten minutes before classes started and waited in the yard, which aside from them only had two or three other people and the occasional academy student rushing into class, desperate to not be late.
As if seemingly by magic, Just as the two boys arrived a shadow of another emerged from behind a tree.
Shisui: "Boo"
This move caused Obito to jump in fright before tripping and falling over. Much to his friends entertainment.
After waiting for Obito to blow off steam, the boys moved on to what they had agreed to arrive early to discuss.
The Future of their training.
Mizuki already learned most of what he could from Shisui without a sharingan.
The rest could only come with relentless practice.
And although he was nowhere as proficient in the jutsu as Shisui, that would come with time.
Not to mention Mizuki's new commitment to Duy.
After calmly talking things over with one another, the group agreed to have meetings Saturday and Sunday Afternoons for Sparring and Joint Practice.
Truth be told, the motive behind this was not based solely on practicality as they all also just wanted to hang out as well.
Upon coming to an agreement, the boys all quickly rushed into class.
Making it to their seats not a second before the teacher arrived, in textbook Mizuki fashion.
Mizuki's morning was honestly pretty average.
He passed the time by chatting with Anko and sleeping for first period, and in taijutsu class everyone was taking it easy.
Everyone except for Shisui, Obito, Mizuki, Guy and Kakashi.
All of them were relatively similar in their self proclaimed "competition" in who was the best.
Finally, after what felt like an instant to Mizuki, Taijutsu practice ended.
??: "Hey"
Mizuki was surprised when he heard the voice as he turned around to see Kakashi approaching him.
Kakashi: Why are you seeking strength?"
"To protect those who are precious to me"
Kakashi looked at Mizuki with a strange glint in his eye as he walked away, although there was more of a hint of friendliness in his tone this time.
"Your weak"
Mizuki had a wry smile on his face as he called back to the ever distancing figure.
"Bet"
They both looked at one another before turning away, a hint of amusement and curiosity behind each of their eyes.
For Mizuki, the end of the school day couldn't come fast enough.
Lunch was pleasant enough, hanging out with Obito, Shisui and Guy, who was starting to grow closer to the other two.
Aside from that the rest of the day was napping, eating snacks and playing games with Anko.
Games like using the transformation jutsu to turn into a snake and scare your classmates whilst the teacher is not looking.
Good times.
Regardless, for Mizuki play time was over as he went into the forest and climbed a hill until he reached a certain boulder with a spot that was coloured brown from a certain dried substance.
Duy: "Ready to go?"
Mizuki turned behind him as he saw Might Duy alongside his son behind him.
Mizuki: "Lets go"
Duy now had a smirk on his face as he started training his new disciple.
Duy: "Amazing! Let the Power of Youth Explode!"
