The Buildup

Mizuki groaned as he woke up to the sound of an obnoxiously sound alarm clock going off. He was just about to smack it when he realized it wasn't in it's normal place.

Mizuki: {Huh?}

After around three seconds later, Mizuki finally remembered that he wasn't in his bed,but rather on a pull out at Anko's Place.

Mizuki was just about to try to navigate his way to find the clock and turn in off when he heard anko.

Anko: "SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

*Bang*

Judging from what Mizuki could here, Anko had totally destroyed her Alarm clock with a kunai.

Mizuki sighed as he decided to make some breakfast for the both of them.

Orochimaru may have told them not too but neither Mizuki or Anko cared to follow that "order"

Ten Minutes Later, Mizuki had finished making a basic meal, some fried eggs with bacon and toast.

Just as he set the plates down, Mizuki saw Anko finally get out of her room.

Anko had her hair untied and arranged messily, a result of the legendary "bedhead", and was dressed in baggy pajama bottoms and an oversized t - shirt.

After greeting one another and finishing their breakfast, they both quickly got ready and were able to leave with fifteen minutes to spare.

Fortunately for Mizuki, whilst they were getting ready he had no moments of accidently walking in on Anko or anything too stereotypical.

As they left the building, Anko grabbed a backpack with some extra supplies.

Just things like extra kunai, some wire, flashbangs, and most importantly; 6 cups of instant ramen, enough for each teammate to have two or for each of them to have three and drop Idate.

Mizuki and Anko ended up arriving at the training grounds with five minutes to spare.

Five minutes later, and neither their sensei, nor their teammate had showed up.

And whilst neither of these lates were considered a surprise, it still pissed both Mizuki and Anko off knowing that they had a teammate that couldn't even be bothered to show up on time.

After fifteen minutes had passed, Idate had finally decided to show up.

Idate: "Good Morning, I'm so tired. Why is Our sensei late?"

Mizuki: {This Brat}

Anko: {Hypocrite}

However, just as both of them were about to berate Idate, they quickly realized they would need to play along with him if they wanted to pass.

After that day, both Anko and Mizuki could climb to chunin in the next chunin exam, only a few months away.

So, with great reluctance, Mizuki and Anko shelved their anger as they spoke to him.

Mizuki: "Ya, I wish he would show up on time.."

Anko "It's so early too..."

Idate, either too young and naive or simply too stupid to understand the irony of their words, nodded in agreement as he walked off into the forest to take a nap.

All the whilst, he would tell them to "wake him up when the teacher gets here"

Mizuki: {As if}

Anko: {That little...}

They both looked to one another and sighed as they created shadow clones to set up traps all around the training ground, being extra careful not to rouse Idate. Lest he terrorize them both once again.

Unfortunately, neither Mizuki nor Anko could reveal that they knew how to create shadow clones, so they could only use them for things like preparation.

It took them roughly forty five minutes to set up their traps and by the time they were done, they had already been at the site for an hour and a bit.

Anko and Mizuki predicted that Orochimaru wouldn't arrive until after daybreak, so they both created two shadow clones each to play lookout for them whilst they slept.

Sure enough, two hours later, when the sun has already been up for a little whilst, the clones dissolved themselves with a message, Orochimaru was coming; and at a leisurely pace too nonetheless.

Mizuki and Anko nodded as he went on to the training grounds whilst she would wake up Idate.

Mizuki was a great actor, and it was agreed that he would do most of the talking whilst Anko was actually slightly better at the body flicker than even Mizuki.

Whilst he had focused on a variety of topics over their time at the academy, Anko focused and honed only a select few jutsu.

Anko walked up to where Idate was sleeping only to have a cruel smile on her face.

In the most concerned voice she could muster, Anko tried to wake Idate up.

Anko: "Wake Up! Sensei is coming!"

As she did this, she also ran a couple of senbon through the threads of his clothes.

It wouldn't do any real harm. Although if anything so much as brushed his clothing, it would all come off.

Idate groaned as he woke up, only to quickly sprint to the main training area.

Anko had a disdainful smirk on her face as she saw him run off. Whilst his top speed was no doubt fast for him, for her he was incredibly pitiful.

She shook her head and sighed as she quickly rushed past Idate and reached Mizuki. Being careful to expend as little chakra as possible for her run.

Idate managed to arrive a whole five minutes later at the main training area. Sighing in relief at how the sensei had yet to arrive.

Thirty seconds later, Orochimaru emerged from the path that led to the training ground.

Idate sighed in relief as he thought he had escaped the jonin's senses.

Little did he know that Anko was the only one of the two to pull that stunt off, she was quick enough to arrive at Mizuki's side whilst he was still pretty far back.

Idate on the other hand, did not do this.

Idate: "What the heck? Why were you late? What is the test going to be"

Orochimaru sighed as he looked over to Anko and Mizuki, who were observing Orochimaru.

He gave a slight nod of approval to the other two genin before starting with Idate.

Whilst it appeared that this one lacked potential it appeared that the other two had some talents that he could use.

Orochimaru: "I was late because of an Old Lady crossing the road who I then needed to help"

Anko and Mizuki: {Bullshit}

Orochimaru then had a grin on his face as he got to his favourite part.

Orochimaru: "Now, for your test...."
