Blocked by a red blade stood this monster of a man. How would this kid know his own blade would activate? Or was it coincidental? No it couldn't have been a coincidence, could it? The man jumped back. He closed his eyes and took a big sniff in the air. He then opened his eyes and was staring directly at Emily.
"Two of them?! Dave turned his own brat as well?!," the monster said.
Owen looked back at Trent and Emily who were staring at Owen in shock. Trent gave Owen an angry look before facing back to the man. Owen then looked at Emily. She stared back at him.
"W-what does he mean?," Owen shouted at Emily in a confusing tone.
"I-I don't know," Emily shouted back. Owen looked back at Dave and he was smiling with his eerie toothy grin. He then started laughing uncontrollably. All four of them were scared. They were terrified. Owen felt the hairs on his arm stand up.
"Dave, you dumb bastard. You thought you can give your daughter Un (pronouce: oon) blood to challenge me?!," the monster said while laughing uncontrollably.
"And you," He said as he glared at Martha. "Who the hell is this boy's father, because you shouldn't be able to have uns at this school campus."
Martha didn't say anything. She just sat there staring at him. She felt a pit in her stomach, her heart sank.
"Well?! Are you gonna answer me or not?! I think this boy really wants to know what happened," Dave said. Martha couldn't speak. She couldn't utter a word. Her heart was beating uncontrollably.
"I-I c-can't...," Martha said at last. The man's smile then faded. Owen turned to look at his mother.
"W-what is an...un?," Owen asked.
"Not now, okay sweetie?," Martha said.
"Why not now?! Is there something you are hiding?!," the monster said.
Dave then appeared behind Owen then picked him up by his hair. He lifted the 14 year old boy up off of his feet. Owen put his hands to his head and clenched his eyes shut from the pain brought on upon his scalp by this sick man.
"TELL ME!!," the monster screamed in the most unholy scream anyone has ever heard. Martha wanted to tell him to put Owen down but she had enough. She couldn't go through this anymore. So she cried. As she wept she then spoke, " His father is dead. All of them died. We tried to save them. It was too much...,"
"WHO IS HE?!?!," He said in the same scream.
"M-Mike! his name was Mike...his name was Mike...his name was Mike...," Martha started repeating to herself.
"Michael Shores...The Pyro," He said as he lowered the boy but didn't let go of his hair. He let out another hardy laugh.
"To think, I have The Pyro's brat in the palm of my hand is magnificent," he said as he lifted Owen back up by his blonde hair. "Why don't I put an end to him in front of you so he can see his dad again."
He positioned his white blade behind Owen.
"I'm going to enjoy every last bit of this," he said he pulled the blade back to try to drive it into Owen. But, before he could do so, there was a sharp pain in his left arm. It started bleeding in a straight line across his arm. Before he knew it, his arm came clean off, dropping Owen to the ground. Owen knelt to the ground, trying to deal with the massive headache he got from being lifted up by his scalp. The monster screamed out in pain as he saw his blood dripping from his arm onto the ground below. He put away his white blade to tend to his arm wound, but he felt someone behind him put a get blade at his throat. Out from behind Dave, stood a man dressed in all black. He had a black sweatshirt with black jeans on. His hair; however, was long and dark red.
"Possessing a fellow blade, are we Mr. Spirit? I thought spirits were better than that. I guess I was wrong," the red haired man said with a laugh. Owen then look back and saw the man. The man smiled at Owen and said, "get out of here kid, take your classmates and run."
Owen gave him a nod and went to help his mother. Martha tried wiping away her tears, but they just started falling again when Owen tried helping her up. She hugged him and said, "Go Owen, I'll be okay." She smiled at him. He then smiled back and gave her a nod. He got up and ran to Emily and Trent.
"We have to get out of here, guys," Owen said.
"Okay," Emily replied.
"Oh, no I'm not going anywhere until I know what the hell is going on here. You are a fire blade and Emily's father is a wind blade?! Is there something you two are not telling me?!," Trent said.
"Look we will talk about this later but we gotta move, right now," Owen said.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to tell you. I don't take orders from a fire blade!," Trent said.
"This fire blade is trying to save your life," Owen said.
"Trent...please...," Emily said.
"No, Emily. You shouldn't trust him. He probably planned this for all you know," Trent said to Emily.
"He is my friend! I thought you were too...I guess I was wrong...," Emily said back to Trent. "Come on, Owen."
Emily grabbed Owen's hand then started running towards the gym. They could hear Trent yelling in the background, "you barely know him! you just met him today!"
When they got to the gym, they opened up one of the doors.
"You stay here...I gotta go back," Owen said.
"What?! They said we have to stay safe!," said Emily.
"Yeah...but Trent..."
"Who cares about him. He is a jerk...he doesn't deserve to be saved..."
"He might be a jerk, but he is still a blade with a living soul. My mother always told me that the creators have a purpose for everyone."
"The creators?"
"Yeah, so I have to go back and save him."
"Wow, you really are a fire blade..."
Owen smiled. Emily then paused for a second. She then returned his smile.
"Please come back in one piece, okay?," Emily said.
"I will," Owen replied.
